02 Encountering the Urban Position Hunter Army Airfield Redevelopment 9

Collaborative project Raquiya Glasgow, Destry Ure, Caroline Vaughn Graduate studio

Collaboration of 3 students on redeveloping Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, GA. If the airfield was shut down, how would the city of Savannah develop the land? A master plan was developed in order to connect South Savannah with downtown Savannah and the historic district. Having connections to link both areas were critical and vital to its success in bring these areas together, but allowing controlled growth. Distinct nodes or city centers were developed to correspond to historic Savannah and bring the old into the new development.
