After almost 25 years of promoting pool and darts, I think it’s time to leave. I’ve had good ride with the papers Billiards Table Talk, The Dart Starr, and now the Table Talk. I had fun helping to build businesses, setting up leagues and promoting the things we love. As many may know, my health hasn’t been the best over the last 5 years or so and my recent motorcycle accident
didn’t do me any good either, so I’m taking this time to step down as Owner, Publisher and Editor. I look forward to getting to know my family and friends much better and spending time on my boat and “yes” riding my Harley. As of January 10th, 2013 Chuck Webb will become the new Publisher, Editor, and Owner. For those who know Chuck, you know be comes from a long line of pool and darts. I ask everyone to give Chuck your full support. Unity, I believe, will be Chuck’s philosophy. There is nothing we can’t accomplish if we are united. I wish to thank everyone over the many years that made our papers successful . -Dr. Jack
THE SNIPER TAKES AIM
Hello friends. My name is Chuck Webb and my billiards nickname is “The Sniper”. Don’t miss and leave me a shot, you just might regret it. This year has not been kind to Dr. Jack. His turn of events have caused the doctors To tell him that he has to retire and eliminate the stress in his life, mainly from the business world. To this end as of Jan. 1, 2013 I will be taking over and buying this paper known as Table Talk. Let all of us keep Dr. Jack in our prayers for a speedy recovery. Some of the old standards will remain in the paper and there will be some new changes. I will be looking for a sports writer to give us input and coverage of pool and dart activities. If you have journalism skills and a passion for these sports, give me a call and let’s sit down and talk, (623-236-4559).
Thanks for the support of your business and ours to our repeat advertisers. Advertising pays with new customers and friends. To our new advertises, welcome aboard. I look forward to a long and mutually productive relationship. Ask me about our advertising specials. Let’s work together to make our businesses grow. To our readers, this paper is for and about you. Let me hear from you about what you would like to see in these pages. You’re input is important to us. We always respect your input and criticism, they both help to make this a better more complete paper. Thanks. I hope to see all of you around town. When you do see me, stop and share you thoughts with me and if I have my camera remember to smile. You never can tell when you might see yourself in these pages. I am always interested in hearing from you. Have a great day and till next time, your Tennessee Country Boy, Chuck “The Sniper” Webb

The Annual Turkey Shoot @ Match-Ups - Ft. Collins, CO The 2012-2013 Pure X Cues All American Tour – presented by the American CueSports Alliance (ACS) – moved west for its tenth Tour stop: The Annual “Turkey Shoot” at Match-Ups in Fort Collins, CO, November 24-25. The $1,000-added 8-ball tourney on bar boxes drew a record 72 players. On the A-side Mark Haddad (Denver, CO) marched undefeated to the hot seat, completing his trek with wins over Chad Sholders (Loveland, CO) in the quarterfinals, Ritchie Cunningham (Denver, CO) in the semi-finals and Charles Castonguay (CANADA) in the finals. On the B-side Marc Vidal (Denver, CO) recovered from an earlier-round loss to Ray Padilla (Denver, CO) to eliminate Ernesto Romero (Pocatello, ID), Matt Evans (Cheyenne, WY), Richard Montoya (Denver, CO), John Sandifer (Denver, CO), Ritchie Cunningham, Robert Rivers (Loveland, CO) at 4thplace and Charles Castonguay at 3rd place. In the tourney finals, Mark Vidal had to beat Mark Haddad in two sets to gain the title, and Vidal was up to the challenge to
claim the crown! By virtue of Mark Vidal also being the highest-finishing ACS member in the event, he qualified for a free 8-Ball singles entry into the 2013 Pure X ACS Nationals at the Tropicana Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS. The ACS wishes to thank sponsors Pure X Cues, Championship Billiard Fabric and Nick Varner Signature Cases for their support in donating “Value-InKind” product for this and all stops on the Pure X All American Tour. Sponsorship opportunities and tour stop openings are still available for the 2012/2013 All American Tour by contacting the ACS. The Tour moves east to Sand Springs, OK, on Saturday, December 8, for the Annual 8-Ball Classic, featuring a $500 added Men’s and a $250-Added Women’s 8-Ball Tourney at Sandite Billiards (contact Sandy Chamberlain at 918906-8779). a Letter from DethKitn Hey Ya’all... I only had one interview this So 2012 was a pretty crappy year. BUT I month, so I figured I’d take this space to found out who my real friends are. And it wish you all Happy Holidays! turns out I have a hell of a lot more than I realized! I’d like to thank you all here for making 2012 one of the best years of my life. Only I don’t have enough room here to mention everyone and I hate leaving people out. Some of my highlights for 2012:
I remember last year’s New Year resolution vividly. In 2010, I had neck surgery, after spending 3 months barely being able to function, then several months of painkillers and recovery... Then I had major dental work done and more painkillers. So my New Year’s resolution for 2011 was to stay away from doctors and hospitals and pills. Wouldn’t you know, I was diagnosed with stage four carcinoma cancer in June. Another month in the hospital...damn. One chemo treatment took all of my hair. I lost 40lbs. I was given one year to live. So guess what?... now I get morphine AND the other drugs... lol... So this year I’ve decided not to make a resolution... haha.
*While I was in the hospital in June, I had to miss my favorite event of the year, Annefest. But my awesome friend Mikey set it up so I could watch it from my hospital bed and interact with my friends via webcam... Thank you MF! And to all those who visited me in the hospital, you are my inspiration. I love you all, thank you for all of your support!
from Colorado and spent it with Mikey and me. It was perfect. And for the first time in months, I barely had any pain and was able to enjoy it as much as possible, for DAYS even! The only pain I had was my face hurt from smiling and laughing so much... :D I have no idea what to expect for 2013, but bring it on! It’s not the end of the world... haha... I hope and pray you all will have a fantastic year, and enjoy every GOOD thing that happens, because there’s bound to be some BAD. But that’s okay, because if you never had any BAD you wouldn’t appreciate the GOOD stuff... Happy 2013 to you all, I love you & thank you for reading our paper! Rock on!
*Then on my birthday, September 22nd, a bunch of wonderful friends threw me a party/benefit at Blooze and it was truly amazing! So many old and new friends were there. Most of my favorite bands played, They raised over $3000 to get me into Cancer Treatment Center. But because of my lack of insurance, they wouldn’t accept me. But the money you all raised made the rest of the year livable for me...Thank you all so much! My family even attended from out of state and surprised the hell out of me! LOL! It was perfect. :) *Then there was this Christmas. The best one ever! Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love my Dad and mom/Nancy. They made a trip out here

Starship Billiards in Decatur, IL The 2012-2013 Pure X Cues All American Tour – presented by the American CueSports Alliance (ACS) – stopped off in Oklahoma for its eleventh and twelfth Tour stops: Sandite Billiards in Sand Springs, December 8. The $500-added Men’s 8-ball and $250-added Women’s 8-ball tourneys on Valley bar boxes drew 31 and 17 participants respectively. Players arrived at 10:00 am eager to
play. The competition was fierce . All the open bracket matches were pretty close. All the players favored to win went home early. There were a lot of upsets throughout the day that kept things exciting. The final match - a race to 7 between Brandon Firey and Steve Page - took 3 ½ hour of the very best pool I have seen in years. Back and forth the lead went until double hill was reached – with Page emerging the victor.

The 2012-2013 Pure X Cues All American Tour – presented by the American CueSports Alliance (ACS) – highlighted its thirteenth stop of the Tour year at Sharky’s Billiards in Davenport, IA, Saturday, December 15. The $500-added 9-ball handicapped tourney on 7-foot Valley bar boxes drew 34 players. Josh Johnson (Bettendorf, IA) [rated a “9” on a regional handicap system used) was in sharp stroke on this day, as – despite having the highest rating – he ran over the field. On the A-side semifinals, Johnson outpointed Jason Totten [6] (Clinton, IA) 9-4, while Eric Naretto [6] (Clinton, IL) vanquished Keith Helfrich [7] (Sterling, IL). Johnson then took the hot seat with a 9-5 score over Naretto. On the B-side, Frank DeCastecker [7] (E. Moline, IL) eliminated Greg Scheffert [6] (Cedar Rapids, IA) 7-4 at 7th place, and Scheffert was joined by James Benton [7] (Moline, IL), who fell at the hands of Mike Dunklin [7] (Bloomington, IL) 7-4. In the next round, Jason Totten and Frank DeCastecker tied for 5th place with losses to Mike Dunklin 7-3 and Keith Helfrich 7-5 respectively. Mike Dunklin continued his hot
hand by relegating Keith Helfrich to 4th place by a 7-6 margin, and then taking the B-side finals over Eric Naretto 7-5. In the tourney finals, however, Josh Johnson took the first set over Dunklin for the title! By virtue of Josh Johnson also being the highest-finishing ACS member in the event, he qualified for a free 8-Ball singles entry into the 2013 Pure X ACS Nationals at the Tropicana Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS. Van Boening ended the 2012 BCA Points Events Calendar ranked first, capping the year off by claiming his second US Open 9-Ball Championship. “The Billiard Congress of America congratulates Shane, Mike and Brandon for their great success in 2012,” said Billiard Congress of America Chairman Mike Serra. “Their success is the result of hard work, dedication and a love for the game.” At this time, the Billiard Congress of America is pleased to announce

to determine the order in which American male players are invited to compete in WPA sanctioned world championship tournaments. The Women’s Professional Billiard Association (WPBA) selects female players to compete in WPA sanctioned world championship tournaments. The Billiard Congress of America recognizes that not all players can compete in all ranking events. All players will be allowed to ‘drop’ one event per calendar year from their rankings. In this manner, players may miss one event per year and not suffer penalties to their rankings. Those players who do attend all events will also benefit in that their worst performance of the year will not be counted in their points total. For more information about the BCA points events, or the criteria to become a BCA points event please visit the Billiard Congress of
America web site. In support of professional pool players in America, the Billiard Congress of America has established a North American Professional Pool Player Travel Fund. In order to sustain the professional player travel fund the Billiard Congress of America will contribute 50 percent of all revenue sales from the Official Billiard Rules Mobile Application. The Official Billiard Mobile Rules Application is now available in theiTunes, and the Google Play stores.
