• The cover page has only two fonts : a serif and other sans-serif making everything look simple and classy. • The bar code has been omitted. • Since this issue is not dedicated to only refrigerators the line on top has been shifted to bottom. • The articles on cover page and inside contents page are now coordinated. • The position of India in Masthead has been changed.

Problems in Existing Contents Page • Text is too crowded which makes reading difficult. • Unnecessary use of pictures.
Redesigned Contents Page • The new layout is more interesting and catches attention.
• Description of pictures not readable.
• The pictures are of the feature stories and cover stories.
• Too much importance is given to the ‘GoodHomes’ as it is contents which is important not the name of magazine.
• There is a proper distinguish between heads and subheads.
• Distinguish between heads and subheads can be done in better manner.
• There is a lot of content but it is properly spaced out.
Problems in Existing Cover Story • The main problem is of navigation. • The description of pictures is not differentiated from the main article leading to more navigaion problems. • Unnecessary pictures use extra space leading to stretch this article into more pages which can be eliminated.
Redesigned Cover Story • The main problem of navigation is solved by having proper flow of the text in the article. • The description of pictures has seperate treatment as compared to the text of article so there is no mix up of information. • The unnecessary images have been removed and less important images have been resized. • So, the article occupies less pages and can be fitted in 2 spreads.
Folder Design Nalli Sarees Duration: 2 weeks | Individual Project
Design Brief: To design a folder using an A3 sheet and choose suitable content for it. Nalli is an Indian wardrobe store and silk saree emporium based in Chennai. It is one of the oldest saree shops in the Chennai’s commercial neighbourhood of T. Nagar. It was established in the year 1928 and has been a leader in the textile and retail business for over 85 years.

Hive Official College Newsletter Live Project | Graphics Team
Hive is MIT ID's official newsletter. Our mission as the voice of the students at MIT is to spread news, information, events, experiences, artistic vent outs and beautiful literature within our design habitat to each and everyone via a (sort of) bi-monthly newsletter available in print as well as the web.
To launch Hive in 2013, we put up an installation in our college foyer.
Old issues of hive were hanging for the juniors to go through them.
There were bees everywhere!

Meaning Of Colours Green: The tint that represents verve, vigor and energy Purple: Merging the unwavering and soothing facets of blue with the magical features of pink, this color gratifies the desire for encouragement, while adding a tinge of ambiguity and thrill. Red: is associated with fiery heat and warmth. Red means increased enthusiasm and more energy. Yellow: symbolizes wisdom, joy, happiness, intellectual energy Orange : stimulates enthusiasm and creativity.
Dynamic Nature of the Symbol: The reference taken was of firecracker. Since ENTHUSIASM is an explosive feeling I tried to make a human figure in a firecracker showing explosion and thus ENTHUSIASM. The red figure in the symbol looks like it is jumping if we change position of colors.
Wayfinding Deccan Gymkhana Duration: 4 weeks | Group Project
Design Brief: To design the wayfinding and signage system of a place. Deccan Gymkhana is one of the pioneer sports institutions in Pune and offers excellent facilities for many outdoor as well as indoor games. It was established in the year 1906 by visionary sports lovers. Throughout its journey of over 100 years, the main endeavor has been sports promotion and nurturing sportspersons in a variety of disciplines. At present, almost 8,000 young and old members enjoy the benefit of such a sports culture.
Problems in Existing Signages • There are many signs but there is inconsistency in visual language. • The signs are not appropriately placed at the required decision points making navigation difficult. • No pictograms are used resulting in signs looking monotonous. • There is absence of location signs.

The Loni Label Self Initiated Group Project
‘The Loni Label’ is a self initiated project which a bunch of us, room-mates, created. We made printed tote bags and sold them in our annual college festival ‘Quasar’. We hope to expand soon.
