SWAP YOUR SKINNY FOR YOGA TIGHTS!

Enjoy wearing our brand!

taking your sports fashion outfit out on the streets?

We are seeing more and more that sport is becoming a part of everyday life, helping us to live a healthy and energetic lifestyle. And that can be seen not only by sharing your athletic goals and achievements on social media, but also by wearing your favourite sports wear all day. Developments in sport and fashion increasingly influence each other. Sporty collections are all over the catwalks! For example; the designs of skinny jeans and yoga tights are constantly moving closer towards each other. Jeans brands put jeans on the market with more & more stretch and at the same time a fashionable design for yoga pants seems more important than ever. And that’s definitely a good thing, because yoga tights are the most comfortable pants that you could wish for!

Three golden rules

1.

The high waisted yoga collection of Reece Individual includes, amongst other things, the material elastane. In combination with the high waist of the trousers this ensures an ultimate streamlined fit that gives you a confident feeling. And it would be a shame to wear such a fine item only in the yoga studio!

Now sports and fashion are becoming increasingly integrated, sports collections have become more and more trend sensitive. Materials, prints and designs change each season. So make sure you stay up to date and choose the trends that suit you!

2.

Invest in items that combine function and fashion

Keep your eye on the seasons key trends

Sports fashion items combine the best of both worlds: ultimate comfort and a fashionable look. With the right sports fashion items you should be able to move freely, without the fabric showing through, pants should fit correctly and shirts must not creep up. And last but not least, the designs must be flattering to your figure. Be sure that you feel beautiful!

3.

it’s only cold when you’re standing still healthy life, healthy body, healthy mind

Pick the right accessories With the right acces sories you can hit the streets right after visiting the gym! Think of big sunglasses, a large tote bag or chunky jewellery.

YOGA POSES

Channel your inner

animal

Many yoga poses are named after animals. Some postures imitate the form of a specific animal quite strikingly, others are less obvious. To stay close to the theme of the latest Reece Individual collection - Supernature - we explain the most challenging animals poses for you.

Eagle pose

This pose looks complicated and it may take a while before you have all your limbs in place, but that is precisely what makes the Eagle pose so good for your concentration. Because the exercise requires a lot of your balance, it is good for your shoulders, hips, thighs, calves and ankles.

Pigeon pose

The Pigeon pose knows some variations, but the one-legged King pigeon Pose (in the picture) is the most accessible one. This seated pose opens your chest and is good for your back. The muscles in your upper legs are being stretched, which will work wonders for your flexibility.

Camel pose

The camel pose is a good stretch for the entire body, but it’s not the easiest backbend to perform. The throat, chest, abdomen, hips and thighs are all put to work, where, as a beginner, you should pay attention to not bend your neck too far (because that can make you dizzy).

Crow pose

This is clearly a birdlike pose, given the amount of balance that you need. Your feet are off the ground and your body weight is leaning on your arms. Your wrists, upper back, stomach muscles and groins also benefit from this armstrengthening pose.

Scorpion pose The picture may look a little intimidating, but with regular exercise the Scorpion pose is an achievable goal! It makes you strong and flexible. With this pose, it is important to keep your feet well together. The closer you get your feet to your head, the heavier the pose is. Fun fact: This pose stimulates the hair follicles in the scalp, preventing from hair loss.

Lion Pose

This particular yoga pose should not be missed off our list! In a sitting position you imitate the facial expression of a lion, in which you make a roaring sound, from deep within your throat. This pose appears to have an enormous liberating effect ;)

PILATES is my happy hour

Pilates can be summed up in 3 words: stretching, strength and control. The series of exercises was originally developed as a warm-up for dancers, athletes and actors, but it now is one of the most popular fitness variants. Pilates’ popularity is undoubtedly due to the many top models promoting Pilates classes. Many of them credit their slim, muscular physiques to Pilates. So what is it? And why is it so good for you? Pilates exercises develop a strong "core," or centre of the body. The core consists of the deep abdominal muscles along with the muscles closest to the spine. Control of the core is achieved by integrating the torso, pelvis and shoulders. Pilates elongates and strengthens, improving muscle elasticity and joint mobility. A body with balanced strength and flexibility is less likely to be injured. Many of the exercises are performed in reclining or sitting positions, and most are low impact and only partially weight bearing. Pilates is so safe, it is used in physical therapy facilities to rehabilitate injuries. It can help to create an evenly conditioned body, improve sports performances and prevent injuries

3x meditating for beginners How are you? How was your day? Busy? Hectic? There can be days when you barely sit still, and when you do finally stop you are bombarded with thoughts racing through your head. Do you know what you are thinking of all the time? Do you have times where you are not sure of what you are thinking of or what you want?

Meditation is a great way to expel negative thoughts, emotions and energy. It can also help you become more grounded, more level headed and calmer. There are several apps and videos that can help you, but these three simple exercises are also a good start if you sometimes just want to scream 'stop!' to your mind.

Tip 1

yoga (sun salutation) If you practice yoga, you will know that yoga is a form of meditation. Through your practice of yoga you enhance both your ability to concentrate and to relax, the two most important requirements for meditation practice. Yoga can be a great workout for the body; stretching, flexing and toning the muscles, and also for relaxing the mind. Sun salutation is an excellent type of yoga for beginners.

Tip 2

breathing Sit with your eyes partially closed and turn your attention to your breathing. Breathe

naturally, preferably through the nostrils, without attempting to control your breath, and try to become aware of the sensation of the breath as it enters and leaves the nostrils. This sensation is our object of meditation. you should try to concentrate on it and exclude everything else going on in your mind.

Tip 3

walking meditation Walk at a relaxed fairly slow but normal pace, pay attention to the sensations in your body as you walk. It is natural to find your attention drawn to the sights around you when you are walking but bring your attention to what is going on internally.

The idea is to have your attention on the physical experience of walking. Notice how the body feels in great detail as you walk. The entire body is involved in the act of walking from alternation of left and right feet to the swinging of your arms and hips. Notice how the soles of your feet feel, the contact they make with your socks or shoe, the textures of the fabrics touching them, the way they feel as they bear the weight of your body and the sensations in them as you walk along.

as it conditions the whole body, even the ankles and feet. No muscle group is over trained or under trained. Your entire musculature is evenly balanced and conditioned, helping you enjoy daily activities and sports with greater ease, better performance and less chance of injury. That’s why so many professional sports teams and athletes now use Pilates as a critical part of their training regime In Pilates the quality of movement is valued over quantity of repetitions. Proper breathing is essential, and helps you execute movements with maximum power and efficiency. By emphasizing proper breathing, correct spinal and pelvic alignment, and concentration on smooth, flowing movement, you become acutely in tune with your body. You actually learn how to control its movement. Don’t limit your Pilates workout to the studio or gym! You can practice Pilates anywhere and everywhere. All you need is an exercise mat to support your spine and possibly an instructional video. Enjoy!

Is there anything more pleasant in winter than a moment of relaxation with a nice hot drink? Although the classic hot chocolate is a good recovery drink, it does contain a lot of sugar. And although a large mug of tea is always a good idea, it does not contain vitamins that help you stay healthy through winter. So how about a warm smoothie? This hot cinnamon apple smoothie is not only very tasty but also really healthy! • 1 apple (diced) • 120 ml of water (or yogurt for a creamy smoothie) • a pinch of vanilla extract • 1 tablespoon maple syrup • cinnamon to taste • a pinch of nutmeg • optional: a handful of raisins and/or pecans • optional: a scoop of protein powder

Place all ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth. Put the smoothie 2 minutes in the microwave and then sprinkle with cinnamon. Enjoy!

Create your own tangerine/ coconut hand cream The perfect hand cream must meet high standards: it should smell good, but not too strong, it should be nice and soft but not too oily and not too dry. By creating your own jar of hand cream, you have the ideal ratio 'in your own hands'!

happy during winter. Some types of wool can also irritate your skin. It’s better to choose cotton, nylon and polyester. One more reason, therefore, to exchange your jeans for yoga tights.

Cut 25g butter into small cubes and place them in the freezer. Heat the spray oil in a frying pan. Sprinkle the lamb tenderloins with freshly ground pepper and fry quickly until browned (3 to 4 mi nutes). Remove from the pan and let them rest in aluminium foil. Meanwhile, you can make the sauce. Pour the orange juice into a pan and let it boil on high heat for a minute. Add the honey and thyme and let it boil for a short while. Remove the pan from the heat and mix the lumps and the ice-cold butter with a whisk. Remove the lamb tenderloins from the foil and sprinkle with salt. Put them on the plate and pour over the sauce. Serve with green beans and roasted (sweet) potato!

creamy chocolate cake

For the bottom • 150 grams of (gluten-free) biscuits • 60 grams of butter (or coconut oil)

DESSERT

During winter, your skin needs extra attention and care. It is recommended that you don’t stay in the shower for too long, that you dry your skin without rubbing and that you use moisturising creams. These are the tricks that can help prevent dry winter skin. But did you know it can also help to wear nice, soft fabrics?

• 8 small lamb tenderloins • 1 tablespoon honey • juice of 1 orange • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves • 25g butter • 2 tablespoons spray oil

For the chocolate layer • 80 grams of (very) dark chocolate • 60 grams of coconut palm sugar • 60 grams of butter • 80 grams of almond flour • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract • 2 eggs (egg whites and yolks separated) • 100 grams of (frozen) raspberries

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the crumbled biscuits. Divide the mixture over the greased bottom of the baking tray and press firmly. Put it in the fridge. Then the chocolate layer: separate the eggs and keep yolk and egg white separately. Whip the yolks with the coconut palm sugar until creamy. Melt the chocolate in a saucepan carefully, with the butter. Meanwhile whip the egg whites. Mix the almond flour, sugar and vanilla extract with the whisked egg whites into the melted choco late. Fold the raspberries into the batter. Add the mixture to the baking tray. Bake for 45-50 minutes in the oven. The cake may stay a bit saucy!

• 25 g of coconut oil • 25 g of shea butter • 4 drops of essential oil (mandarin) Place all ingredients into a bain-marie. Mix until the ingredients combine to form a nice smooth substance. Remove the bowl from the heat and let the cream solidify. Use a hand blender to create an airy cream. Transfer your new hand cream into a jar and rub some in!! Tip: if you're looking for a nice oily version that you can leave on your hands (and feet) all night? Then add some almond oil or increase the amount of coconut oil.
