It’s a spare, understated accounting of her remarkable firsts and of her dominance in climbing, especially for someone who is all of 19 years old. It’s been great. I graduated from high school last June, and since then I’ve been able to focus just on climbing. I was accepted early to Columbia University, but I deferred for a year so I could climb. And it’s been fun because having climbing as your profession is an easy job when you love it as much as I do. It never feels like work! But now I’m going to go back to school at the end of August. I’ll concentrate on my studies, but I don’t plan to slow down on my climbing at all. I’ll balance both, which is what I did in high school.
