BLACK ON BLACK
Black seeps into black and the horizon divided only by a necklace of light That holds no clue of what maybe in sight As nothing is seen above nor below Severed by colors of red, white and indigo The sound of the waves are ever present As sparse illumination parts the scene without seeing the merger in between, nonetheless black on black from so far away do converge only visible by the light of day The huge yellow vessel hardly distinguishable creeps slowly as it has done many times before toward sounds heard from the distant shore, As the horn blast giving its loud warning for all watchfulness, though quite disarming It approaches near the string of brightness A sigh of relief from the Captain you hear With more visibility he approaches the pier Yet black are the skies no stars seen aglow Black are the waters that rages below
