Season Guide | May to December 2015

PLANNING YOUR VISIT FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS It’s a big place! What should I see first? If you have an hour: Visit the Kurimoto Japanese Garden and the Indoor Showhouses, including the tropical butterfly house. Then plan to come back when you have more time!

What about food? The licensed Patio Cafe offers soup, sandwiches, hot dogs and other lunch fare, ice cream and beverages. Or, you can bring in your own picnic (no BBQs or alcohol, please).

If you have a few hours: All of the above, plus a 45 minute guided tram tour of the 80-acre Main Garden (with some stops to smell the flowers), topped off with lunch or an ice cream at the Patio Cafe.

Fido? Sorry, the Garden is for people only. Please leave pets at home.

If you have the day: All of the above, plus a beautiful stroll through the Main Garden to take a closer look at the Alpine Garden, Primula Dell, Herb and Sensory Gardens, Native People’s Garden, rose, lily, lilac and peony collections and much more. Our extensive brick pathway system makes much of the Garden accessible to wheelchairs and strollers. Get further into nature on the Garden’s trail system and Imrie Wetland boardwalk.

I want to do more, see more, learn more… Fantastic! Check out the following pages for the Garden’s many special events and education courses for all ages and interests, and visit the website for details.

If you want even more: The Garden is an everchanging feast for the senses, and a perfect place to recharge your batteries. If you want to “get out here” several times over the season, consider a Garden Season Pass or a Friends of the Garden Membership for great savings. Is there anything for kids to do? You bet! We have discovered that outside kids are happy kids! Ask for a Children’s Map at the Gift Shop for a list of things to see and do. Bring the family to the Garden’s special events designed especially with children in mind, like Butterfly Day, Solstice Eve, Perseids in Pyjamas, The Great Big Family Picnic and the Fall Family Festival. Our Family Education Programs get families outside, together, and a nature-based birthday party or fabulous summer camp will connect your children to the outdoors while they’re having a blast.
