Art Spark Devonport Regional Gallery is shining a bright light on creativity in Term 1! We’re offering a series of after school workshops for Primary and Secondary students with local artist Jessie Pangas to explore ideas, spark the imagination and develop an appreciation of the visual arts. No prior skill or knowledge is required, just a healthy sense of curiosity and desire to create. International Women’s Day Secret Women’s Business Talks

Join us for an evening of inspriration, motivation and a little laughter, as we celebrate International Womens Day. War at Sea Exhibition The experiences of Australian sailors in World War I has largely been overshadowed by the stories of soldiers on the Western Front or at Gallipoli. This panel exhibition draws on the personal accounts of Navy servicemen – through their diaries, mementoes, ship’s logs and letters home – to tell their incredible stories of bravery and sacrifice amidst the drudgery of life at sea, patrolling, blockading and escorting troopships. Diamonds of Devonport

Council is once again celebrating the achievements of local women through a new expanded ‘Diamonds of Devonport’ program. Scheduled to coincide with International Women’s Day, the Diamonds of Devonport is now in its sixth year, having recognised over 130 ‘Diamonds’ during this time. 2017 also sees the inclusion of a Diamonds of Devonport Patron, Ald. Annette Rockliff and an annual ambassador. This year we are excited to announce 2017 Diamonds of Devonport Ambassador, is SeaFm’s Jess Bennett. The Diamonds of Devonport finalists will be acknowledged at the Devonport International Women’s Day event to be held: Diamonds of Devonport will coincide with the opening of internationally renowned local Artist Anne Morrison’s - Beneath the Waterline Exhibition. The God that Comes Ten Days on the Island presents The God that Comes. PORTAL PORTAL invites residents and visitors of North West Tasmania to take one photo on one particular day and share it with Devonport Regional Gallery for a community exhibition. All photos submitted will be collated, printed and displayed in the Middle Gallery, Devonport Regional Gallery in May 2017. Three Hummock Island/ Stanley Sailing Westward ho! Join the crew of the Julie Burgess on a nostalgic journey along the northwest coast to Three Hummock Island, following in the wake of the Julie Burgess of old in her heady days of cray fishing in Bass Strait. After a stopover in Stanley, the Julie Burgess will sail on to Three Hummock Island, famous for its granite coastlines, protected coves and sweeping beaches and the purest air. There will be time to explore the island, discover the history and also enjoy the hospitality of the managers John and Beverley O’Brien before the Julie Burgess returns via Stanley to her home port of Devonport. The story follows the fortunes of a fugitive caught between the prejudice of adults and the innocence of the young, who believe that he is Jesus.
