A reminder to all business owners Mall permits

If you are having work undertaken on the facade of your building, eg. painting, glass replacement, or a tradesman requires vehicle access to your business via the Mall you must obtain a Mall Permit.

‘Permit to work within the road reserve’ For all businesses operating outside the Mall, this permit is required if you are untertaking works to your building where the footpath or road area is in any way obstructed. A copy of these forms can be obtained from the Council website www.devonport.tas.gov.au, from the Customer Service counter or by email devonport@devonport.tas.gov.au

If you are concerned that an organisation may be operating in the Mall without a permit or you are encountering problems with anyone set up in the Mall please call the Council on 6424 0511. We can check details of permits and send someone down to sort out any issues if necessary.

Devonport Tourism Website www.devonporttasmania.travel

Devonport Dollars are available to purchase from the Visitor Information Centre on Formby Road and the Devonport City Council front counter.

There is no cost involved in accepting Devonport Dollars, you simply accept them as cash and phone Council on 6424 0511 to have a staff member exchange them for cash. If your business does not accept Devonport Dollars but would like to do so please contact the above number for an information pack. Devonport Dollars are a great gift, think of them next time you are shopping for that hard to buy person...... Cardboard Collection Businesses are reminded to only leave waste cardboard out for collection Monday to Friday. Unfortunately Council is unable to collect waste cardboard from businesses over the weekend as Veolia’s recycling plant doesn’t operate on weekends. In recent weeks some businesses have been leaving out waste cardboard for collection on the weekends but this cardboard has been collected with the garbage and ended up in landfill. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
