Questions asked at this meeting DOUGLAS JANNEY – 23 WATKINSON STREET, DEVONPORT (26998) The endorsement of the standard drawings in Agenda Item 13.1 is a good move; however, the drawings have fallen short in the coverage. Gunn St has 9 continuous intersections with calming structures of which 8 are roundabouts. However, no two roundabouts have the same compliment of characteristics. The matter of roundabout construction is far from finished in any of the Councils’ areas. The Councils across the 3 regions have put their combined efforts into the drawings in Item 31.1 of tonight’s agenda. However, while the number of drawings relating to road bits is a considerable proportion of the total there is no listing of intersection roundabouts. Q
Why are there no drawings relating to roundabouts included in those for presented for endorsement??

Why has Gunn St been provided with so many traffic calming intersections?
Response The Acting General Manager gave a brief response advising that the standard drawings had focussed on the most common items at this stage. Phase 2 standard drawings may cover such things as roundabouts. A more detailed response will be provided in writing.
