in relation to New Year’s Eve 2015 Council note the advice provided that an offer of $10,000 from Sea FM Radio to sponsor the event in 2015 was accepted by the General Manager on 28 October 2015 and the 2015 event will proceed on the basis of:
No entry charges will apply; There will still be fireworks at 9:30pm with the major display being at 12 midnight; There will be a designated wet area established and patrons will not be allowed to consume alcohol outside of this area – (this reduces the level of security and fencing required and also partly addresses the family friendly aspect of the event); A separate area for children activities will be established some distance from the wet area and the stage/bands etc; Access to jumping castle/face painting etc will likely be by gold coin donation or through other sponsorship arrangements; Food Vendors will be encouraged in both the wet area and also other areas; The Lantern Garden will continue to be a feature of the event; and Council’s overall cost for the event will be similar to previous years and in line with the budget allocation.
