Milford women narrowly defeated in tennis final

The Milford Alvarium Angels team (pictured) narrowly lost to Northcote in the final of the Women’s Chelsea Cup North Harbour Tennis premier competition.

The tie was drawn, with both teams winning two singles and one doubles match each for a 3-3 finish. But Northcote was declared the winner after a set countback. The two teams have won the last 10 Women’s Chelsea Cups between them, usually playing each other in the final. Northcote now holds a 6-4 lead over Milford. The Milford line-up (shown from left) was Boidehi Ukil, Sadheera Weerapperuma, Taleia Tuatao, Poppy Loutit and Katie Oliver.
