This work is a exploration of ceramic art. The work presented was created as a result of a six weeks ceramics program at whitecliffe collage of art and design. I experimented with the types of clay, the work ranges from paper clay to porcelain. Hand building techniques such as pinch pots and coiling were used during the classes. Practicing with glazes and process right through to final imagery of the work. The main area of insterest was around the repetitions of forms and how a repetitiuve act becomes inadvertently a meditative one. For this particular theme i took inspiration from oceania. The skeletal structure and propertites of coral and shell became a point of interest and i hope to explore this further.
