The Story of the Life of Our Mother

Victoria Oluwayemi Abidakun

M

ummy Victoria Oluwayemi , nee Adeyoju, Abidakun, my mother, was born on about 71 years ago, into the family of the Late Pa Ezekiel and the Late Madam Elizabeth Adeyoju in IjanEkiti , Ekiti State, Nigeria. My grandparents (my mom’s parents) were true Christians whose hearts were filled with milk of divine kindness and compassion. They were, as my dad said, among the initial converts who brought Christianity to our community; great missionaries who helped to spread the seeds of Christianity.

My grandparents were successful cocoa farmers who, because of their love for God and for sound education for their children and others, used their resources in collaboration with others in the community built a House of Worship and a school. My mom’s elementary school education began at the age of six at IjanIlumoba Anglican Primary School. It was during these primary school ...continue on page 3

...continued from page 2 years that my mom left Ijan-Ekiti to travel with her older brother to his places of employment. She was with him until he left the country for further education in overseas. When she returned home and after a few years, she graduated from Ilumoba Anglican Primary School. From there she was admitted to Harden Secondary Modern School at Ado-Ekiti and after her graduation in 1963, she was enrolled at St. Mary Secondary School, IkoleEkiti. Akure.

E

ven though my mom loved to teach, her first assignment upon graduation was as a dental clerk at the Apapa General Hospital, Dental Department. Her love to teach continued to hunt her until in 1973 she left her job to attend St. Joseph Catholic Teachers Training College. She graduated in 1974 and in 1975 was posted for her teaching assignment at the Catholic Primary School, Marine Beach in Appa along the Ajegunle Road. Lagos. It was in the same year of her graduation, in 1974 that the young and handsome, Mr. Abidakun was married to a young, beautiful, always smiling, always loving, always giving, always humbling, always praying, always encouraging, always caring, and always inspiring Ms. Victoria Oluwayemi Adeyoju. After teaching for a few years, my mother left for the United States in 1979 to join my dad. What a journey? Despite the enormity of the many challenges that greeted and welcomed my mother into the United States, she would rarely say anything of those challenges. Perhaps one the most profound challenges, was the hit and run car accident of my sister in 1991 at the age of 9. It was a moment in the life of my parents when nobody including the doctors was sure of my sister’s survival. But thanks to God for His compassions that failed not and the strong foundation of a Christian faith and beliefs that my grandparents laid into the lives of all their children, my sister survived. Today, my sister, as with each one of us, is a testimony to your generosity, love, hard work, perpetual faith, joy, and selflessness.

O

n behalf of all us, your children, Olubunmi, Oluwabukunuola, Oreoluwakitan, Oluwaseun, and Oluwaseto, we honor and salute you today as you celebrate your 71st birthday. We say, unreservedly, THANKS for your inexhaustible love and for our crosses that you bore and continue to bear without complaints, without murmuring, without giving up, and without reservation. Your grandchildren also join with us in saying Happy Birthday.

MRS. ABIDAKUN

A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN INSIDE AND OUT I n January 06, 1979, I went along with my brother, Mr. Abidakun and a couple of other friends of his to JFK airport to welcome his wife to USA. Little did I know that I was going to meet one of the kindest and most genuine women I have even known. Over the years, we bonded like brother and sister. Mrs. Abidakun has a great strength and wisdom, she knows the right thing to say to help me to get my thoughts into perspective. She always see the positive side of life. She would sit down with me and ask what my plans in life were. Right after graduation from college, Mrs. Abidakun asked what my next goal was; this was when I was living at 175 Willoughby Street in Brooklyn. I remembered telling her that I was taking a year off from school and would apply for my MS/PhD the year after. Thereafter, she was persistent and always encouraging me. Her awesome strength made me realize that I could endure anything life tossed my way. Her senses of humor always make me laugh.

T

his is a beautiful woman, inside and out. Mrs. Abidakun has touched my life in so many ways. When I move out of state, calls from her has always been very inspiring and brought a big smile to my face each time I talk to her over their phone. Because of her gentle and caring nature, those calls never ended there, she would go out of your way to ask for every single member of my family both here and in Nigeria. Mr. and Mrs. Abidakun are two amazing people; they are both selfless, loving and giving all they have. Together they are complete and an embodiment of what a true marriage and family is all about. That is why they are so loved, adored and admired by many.

M

ADAM, HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I cannot equal you in nobility or generosity. Less so, can I ever climb your heights of sacrifice you have made for your family and those around you. But I know that I will never forget that I am blessed to have known a woman who is extraordinary in every way; a great woman of inestimable virtue, dynamic, beautiful, loving, honest, caring and God-fearing. You are a blessing to our generation. I feel so blessed to have been adopted into such a wonderful family of yours.

Her Love Knows No Bound Growing up with a Mommy Oluwayemi Victoria Abidakun was fun. She is a very loving and generous sister who cares for all her siblings. Our mother, Momo Ogunbo Elizabeth Adeyoju was a very loving and generous person too. In those young years, our mother would give us treats. On occasions, Mommy Victoria would play tricks on me to share my treats with her. This is an example of our laughable sister-/brother relationships. She took over playing the mother roles after our senior sister, Momo Florence Talabi passed away. Mommy

Victoria is a very family oriented wife, mother, and sister. She loves her husband, children, and siblings deeply. My family and I extend our love, gratitude, appreciation, congratulations, and Happy Birthday to Mommy Victoria. We rejoice with her loving husband, Daddy Olu Abidakun and all their children and their families. Big congratulations on her retirement too!! We love you and your family.

Obafemi, Ann, Oluyinka, and Olusomi Adeyoju.

A REAR JEWEL I met Mommy Victoria as my sister-in-law. She has always been encouraging and supportive. Her love for my husband and our family has been evident and she has expressed that love and concern on numerous occasions. She watches the weather in Texas even when I don’t and she calls to make certain we are okay. A number of year ago when our daughter was a college student in Florida during a major hurricane, she called so many times that I couldn’t sleep. Finally, I suggested that we pray more and worry less. It has been a joy being a part of the family. With love and blessings now and always,

Ann Adeyoju

A TRIBUTE TO A WONDERFUL MOTHER

T

hanks be to God for His immeasurable benefits to us. From Ijan -Iluomoba Anglican Primary School in the early 50’s, scattered by educational pursuits in out of town secondary schools, only to meet and play together during school holidays under the watchful eyes and stern warnings of late Pa. Adeyoju,Sn. Suddenly the things were silent, only to meet again in U.S.A in early 80’s. The clock had been ticking. How time flies! In fact, when my wife Mrs Adeyefa, was coming from Nigeria to U.S.A through Nigeria Airways, Mummy Yemi Abidakun was the one who met her (even though they had never met before) with winter coats and she then assisted in transferring her to her flight to Cincinnati Ohio. Since then, the two families have been communicating, meeting in ceremonies, talking and praying for another and our children. You and your husband, Pa. Abidakun have been wonderful people to know and admire. Friendship that lasts this long is beyond ordinary and this testimony is true with many others all over. Thanks be to God for your life. We wish you many more years to celebrate God in your life. We wish you many more years to celebrate God’s faithfulness. Happy Birthday and many Happy returns.

Mama Mi: You Are My First Love

Y

ou are The First Woman I Loved because you were one of the First instruments GOD used to teach me Love. You are the First Woman not only to inspire, but to continually give me a reason not to be too complacent but to pursue for betterment. Because I know what you have done in my life, I remember always saying to you; do not worry, for by God’s grace all your hard work and teachings will produce its desire results in my life.. Thanks a million times for not giving up on me. Always with tomorrow in mind, you continue to raise me and cultivate the son, the brother, and the man i am today,. You refuse to let me settle for anything less than my best and I thank God everyday that the best anyone could give me was you and dad.. I call you my baby (you and popsy), You are also My First Love bka “Mama-Mi O!!!”, and you are appreciated and you deserve all the praise as you celebrate your 71st. May you forever be celebrated. I would be remiss if I do not share this story (a soliloquy) I wrote which gives a snapshot of how I see you: ***She Never Fails...*** He just asked me if I was hungry. I said no. (I could’ve eaten more, but I didn’t want to stress Him, plus it was late and I just had already eaten on the way over.) He told me that She was up since 4am cooking “Your Food”. ***She Never Fails To...*** [My Food consisted of Jollof Rice, mixed vegetables, Dodo, and mixed meat. (If I don’t get it the first day, She’ll make sure I get before I leave.) ***She Never Fails To Take...*** Before I knew it He was in the kitchen warming up

13

the grub. I got myself four scoops of rice. He asked if I got enough and to take more. I told Him, “I’m good. Thank you.” After I sat down to eat, I could hear Him dozing off, saying a few words intermittently to keep Himself awake and to make sure I was alright. I told Him I hear Her coming from the room. She made it to the living room entrance and before She could sit down I greeted Her and prostrated like I did to Him earlier. As She touched my head, Prayed and Thanked me for coming, I got up and gave Her a kiss on her cheek. (Little Baby Mi) She sat down and asked if I wanted some more food. I told Her, “I’m good. Thank You for making it.” She said, “Don’t worry. We Thank GOD.” ***She Never Fails To Take Care...*** She yawned. After a some time, she said, “I’m sorry. I’m going to bed. I’m so tired.” As She waddled back to Her room He tells me that She had called Him earlier and said She was “like zombie” at work today; that She was waiting up with Him to make sure I arrived well, but She was falling asleep and She had to be at work in the morning, so He told Her to go to bed. I woke up the next morning in time to hear Her getting ready for work. I greeted her, escorted Her to the door, and kissed Her goodbye. Before She left She let me know that She made breakfast, it’s on the stove, and to make sure I eat. ***She Never Fails To Take Care of Me.*** I LOVE YOU MY SWEET MOTHER.

A Happy, Joyful and Memorable Birthday to Victoria The Highly Honored

I

t was a joyous occasion for us to learn of the Special Plan (from Olu last Wednesday, 04 May 2016) for Victoria’s Special Day in August. We cheerfully accepted the invitation to send this message!!! Victoria is, indeed, the only sister and the last female from our mother... (Each of the 3 sisters she lost individually preceded Brother ‘Biodun; Kolade; and Ademola (Aribi). Consequently, Victoria has always enjoyed unlimited love, high regard and sincere consideration. Having been born after a set of twins, the Yoruba cognomen confers on her the bi-sexual name “Idowu”. Fortunately, however, Daddy left the decision on the naming of female children to his wife. Thus after a while, Mummy came up with OLUWAYEMI, i.e. “God has honoured me”: resonating her experience before she had Abiodun; Kolade; and Ademola. The baptismal name: Victoria, the feminine of Victor is equally well-chosen and in tandem with the family mood in the preceding decade. On getting a job as a teacher in Okeigbo/Ifetedo in January 1957, Victoria and Adedayo followed me as my help-mates. It was practically a 4-month stay as I had

I returned riefly, I greatly appreciate her kindness, home with my two mates and with Daddy’s bursary, generosity, and support to the family cause and above all, to her spirit of giving!!! I would gladly I embarked on Higher School Certificate (Advanced Level) studies at Oduduwa College, Ile-Ife on 27 May end this piece by sharing the very big surprise that 1957. However, we did not plan to offered me a job effective from January l959. visit the Big Apple: New York. All of a sudden, Victoria Again, Victoria and Adedayo, my faithful help mates, descended on us from New York for one week of sight seeing, wining, etc, etc in exquisite locations. Above all, followed me to Ile-Ife and subsequently to Ilesha. she left a very fat envelope!!! In all those days and throughout our stints in different locations, I cannot recollect any occasion when I Victoria!!! We rejoice with you on your Birthday subjected Victoria to corporal punishment. As she has celebration. May The Good Lord continue to uphold, the rare gift of re-collecting events on a verbatim basis, support, bless and multiply your happiness, everyday I would be grateful for her recitations to enable me AND ALWAYS. AMEN & AMEN. Victoria, thank you very much for your kindness, love, generosity and submit an appropriate restitution. being a dependable sister/mother at every occasion. ur Mummy died at the University College KOLADE & ADEOLA ADEYOJU Hospital Ibadan, on Thursday, 12 August 1962. On that day, I was on Students’ Summer holiday on faraway Lake Ohrid which is located in southern former Yugoslavia (but now in a triangular) between Albania, Macedonian, and Greece. Brother ‘Biodun was in a boat, returning after 6 years in Exeter, UK, but had 10 more days to arrive in Lagos. The next day, I saw Mama’s effigy on Lake Ohrid; caught a cold in the bright/hot sun! My reaction was that something terrible had gone wrong.

From Sea to Shining Sea

O

n behalf of your siblings, family and relations here and around the world, I send hearty congratulations to our sisterMrs. Victoria Oluwayemi Abidakun on the marking of her 70th birthday today (July 9, 2016). It’s a blessing and honor to celebrate my sister on behalf of our siblings and family members. Victoria and I spent our early childhood with grandma, we did not move to our dad’s residence on the southern part of our town (Ijan Ekiti) until I was about eight years old. In short, we were close since our early years. One of the things that I remember is that Mom used to cut her a lot of slack since she was the only girl among five of us. However, Mom ensure that there was no favoritism by devising a sort of an equal opportunity plan by providing chickens or roosters to be consumed during the Christmas and New Year festivities. Each chicken was earmarked for each of her children, making us all feel special. In the late forties our two older brothers (Mike and Sam) were in Ado – Ekiti attending Christ High School. Thus both myself and “Oluwayemi” (mom preferred to call her by her middle name) were at home with her. That was when we developed the closeness between us. That was the time mom taught me how to cook and manage household chores. These lessons became useful shortly after Obafemi was born and mom became very ill. Both Victoria and I took over from her the household chores as her illness progressed and Vic took over my role of chief assistant manager on household chores when I went to a boarding high school in late fifties. By the time mom passed on to eternal rest in the summer of 1962, both of us had acquired a wealth of knowledge on household management and taking care of our baby brotherEmmanuel Obafemi aka- Abidakun. Although we grew up in a polygamous home, our parents were good

practicing Christians. We learned in early childhood that it is good to share, respect parents, older persons and authorities. Mom instilled in us the need to behave well at all times, to be kind, healpful and give generously to others. We watched both our parents do these on countless occasions. Both believed that treating others with kindness and respect goes a long way in paving the way for their children’s happiness in future. This is foundation on which the many great and praiseworthy attributes we’ve seen over the years were planted. To her siblings, she is known as ‘Toria’ and to her husband (whom we lovingly refer to as “St John”) and many others, she is known as ‘Yemi’. In conclusion, Toria has always being known for being trustworthy, friendly, hardworking, persevering, kind, organized, generous and helpful. These are some of the sterling qualities she has shown from her childhood days. On behalf of my family, siblings and relatives, I wish you many happy returns, good health, and many opportunities to pass these noble attributes to your grand-children. With love always, from your brothers and their families,

A TRIBUTE TO MY SISTER - IN –LAW

Generous, Loving, and caring. It is a pleasure for me to write briefly on Mrs. Victoria Idowu Abidakun on this special occasion of her 70th birthday. Mrs. Victoria Idowu Abidakun and I were born at Ijan-Ekiti in Ekiti State and we grew up together in different parts of the community. I got married to her brother in 1965. We did not get closer to each other until between 1967 and 1968 after we returned from United Kingdom to Nigeria. Since that time we took to each other like loving senior and junior sisters. Since then, Idowu as I fondly call her has been extremely close to me, addressing me as sister and I cannot remember when we related to each other as sisters - in – law. We are very fond of each other. We became so close that, “baba” my father- in- law challenged her and asked why she was so close to me that after all, I was not her mother but a wife to her brother. What has endeared Mrs. Victoria Idowu Abidakun to me? I found her to have very loving, caring, generous and understanding personality; someone I could relate with full confidence. Idowu the name I fondly call her, is a very intelligent person, honest, truthful and well-focused. Like my husband, Emeritus Professor Kolade Adeyoju, her brother, she has a very good memory of events, what, when, how and why such things happened; those who were present what time of the day and so on and so forth! I respect her remembering faculty and her creative mind. Mrs. Victoria Idowu Abidakun has been a mother to her senior and junior brothers and the members of their respective families as far as I can remember, tendering them like young ones. She has been very kind and generous to them, serving all with respect, love and humility, the wives inclusive. I join others in thanking God for her life as Idowu attains the age of three score and ten years. It is my prayer that she celebrates many more years in good health, joy, happiness and growing knowledge of God in Jesus name. I also pray that Idowu and her darling husband enjoy more good years together in joy, good health and happiness with their children and grandchildren surrounding their table in Jesus name. Amen.

OUR BELOVED MOTHER AND FRIEND

Your Love for Us Has Been Wonderful

T

o a wonderful mother, sister, and a friend, I seize this occasion on your 71st Birthday, not only to congratulate but to thank you for the exemplary and dedicated life you have lived and taught many including me what it truly means to be a Virtuous Woman of Proverbs 31. You have lived a life worthy not only of men’s praise but more importantly worthy of God’s. God gave King Solomon a revelation concerning you when he conferred this title of a Virtuous Woman on you: 10 Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies. 11 Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. 13 She finds wool and flax and busily spins it. 14 She is like a merchant’s ship, bringing her food from afar. 15 She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her

household and plan the day’s work for her servant girls. 16 She goes to inspect a field and buys it; with her earnings she plants a vineyard. 17 She is energetic and strong, a hard worker. 18 She makes sure her dealings are profitable; her lamp burns late into the night. 19 Her hands are busy spinning thread, her fingers twisting fiber. 20 She extends a helping hand to the poor and opens her arms to the needy. 21 She has no fear of winter for her household, for everyone has warm[b] clothes. 22 She makes her own bedspreads. She dresses in fine linen and purple gowns. 23 Her husband is well known at the city gates, where he sits with the other civic leaders. 24 She makes belted linen garments and sashes to sell to the merchants. 25 She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. 26 When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness. 27 She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness. 28 Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her: 29 “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!” 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the LORD will be greatly praised. 31 Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise. Happy Birthday to You. May you be celebrated not only today but everyday of your life. It is a pleasure to have known you and be a member of the Abidakuns.

“Iya Alaanu” –who believes in free-giving and sharing. Nothing is too big or too precious to give out. Whatever you have you share it with your neighbors. You believe that the Lord who provides this will provide for the future needs. You brought this deep rooted ideology from your old family. We thank God on your behalf. We appreciate you to have come from the noble family of Pa and Ma Adeyoju. You have never let your family down at any time.

Y

ou are a fortunate person to have come from the late Pa Ezekiel and the Late Mama Elizabeth Adeyoju. They were among the initial converts who brought Christianity to your community. They were great missionaries who helped to spread the seeds of Christianity. They were people whose hearts were filled with milk of divine kindness and compassion. It was from them, you all picked up your values; may their souls rest in perfect peace. The faithful and loving ones of God indeed, they were.

T

oday, the children will join me to rekindle our respect and love for Pa M.A. Adeyoju and the late Ma R. Y. Adeyoju (his wife) for the huge support, they gave us when we were studying in the U.S. They took in our children, raised and care for them with their own children. May God repay them and care for their children too. Kind-hearted people, they are. May Christ accept the late Ma R. Y. Adeyoju as one of His anointed and rest her soul in perfect peace.

P

rofessor S.K. Adeyoju and Dr. (Mrs.) Adeola Adeyoju, we thank God for you, who calls you to take up the roles and responsibility like St. Peter –the apostle. Jesus called Peter to take up the leadership roles. Peter was to look after Christ’s flock and tend His sheep after Christ departure from the disciples’ mist. We thank you both for accepting these responsibilities of managing and directing the affairs of the families,

creditably. God is pleased with you all. Thank you for your high spirit of unity and inclusion. You treat me like you treat Victoria. “Ire ni fun yin nigba-gbogbo o Oga mi.” Uncle Ademola, Obafemi, and many others whose names I did not mention, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Victoria, the children, and I, love you all. You are blessed.

O

ur relatives and friends who responded to the call to honor Victoria, you left your houses with joy. May you leave this hall and return to your destination with increased blessing. For those who could not attend, but do send their messages of good will, may you have abundance of divine joy.

TO MY PARENTS TO MY BROTHERS

L

ate Pa Ezekiel and late Mama Elizabeth Adeyoju, may their souls rest in Perfect Peace. Amen. I was born and raised at Ijan, Ekiti State, by these two parents. I was born into a polygamous home. My parents raised all the children as if they were born by only one wife. It was a Christian home. There was no individualism in our family. When I was young, I thought my parents were twin brother and sister. They were so closed and trusted each other. Education was a “must” for all the children in my father’s house. Baba, as he was called, made sure that we all the children went to school. He used to say that he wanted his children to have college education so as to have a better life in the future than them. My father was a good farmer. His wives always followed him to the farm to help him. This was how it used to be during their own time. Both of them were very hard working people. They were very sincere, helpful and very caring individuals. They were very nice inside out. I pray when next we all come back to this world, if there is another, for God to create me along with these same parents and my present family.

My father died 29 years ago while my mother passed away 54 years ago. My mother was buried on my birthday. My birthday has always been a sad day for me. But for sometimes now, I have turned this day into a prayerful day.

I

thank God for having me in your midst. I thank you individually and as a solid group. I don’t think I will be able to thank you enough in my life time for the love and care you have for me. It is in my daily prayer that Jesus Christ rewards you and your family members for the care you all have for me, my husband, my children and my grandchildren. I will continue to pray for your long lives. I know nothing lasts forever except divine grace. I pray Jesus will let your old age be better than your adult one. I pray you will continue to enjoy the fertile, fruits of your labor. “Ebi ale koni pa yin. E koni pebi kehin ayo. Igba ale yin a daraju owuro yin lo, Amin. Ejere awon omo yin gbogbo, Amin. Ori olori ko ni ropo yin. Ni bi sise awon omo yin ase oju emin yin o. E koni di agba ya o. E koni kuku oro. Eko ni ku iku ojiji. Amin. E ma ri awon omo yin inu gbogbo yin ama dun. On behalf of myself, my husband, children, and grandchildren, I thank you and your families. I appreciate you all.

Y

ou are the best brothers and families that one can pray and ask for. I am very lucky that God created me in the midst of you all. Jesus only knows why, I was created in your midst. I am proud and glad to be the luckiest person in the world for having you all, as my brothI loved and missed them both. May the Lord accept ers. I will continue to thank the Holy Lord for His Love over them as part of His chosen ones. May their souls rest in all of us and our individual families. I am blessed to have perfect peace. Amen. you all surround me with your care and your undying love for me over these years. Their Daughter, I, my husband, children, and grandchildren express our Oluwayemi Abidakun sincere gratitude to you all. May our Good Lord continue to Bless you and your families till the end of our lives. Amen in Jesus Name I pray.

TO MY HUSBAND

L

ord God Almighty, I will remain thankful to you, all the time for Your Grace and Your work in my life. You are a wonderful God and Father, with Your Son, Jesus Christ –the Redeemer, Praises, and Adoration to You. I appreciate you. You made all things happen for Your Glory. An example among many innumerable others, was in the meeting of Oludaisi Abidakun in Lagos, Nigeria. The meeting started with six years of courtship of mutual trust and respect. Lord, You bless the meeting with me and Oludaisi with the marriage which You ordained Yourself. Christ Jesus is with me and my family, we shall forever lift up Your Name High. Olu, you have proved yourself to be a great individual that cares humanely and unconditionally. You are always ready with love and care for me and our children. From where will I begin, you have gone through many challenges for the children to have sound education and brighter future. You don’t always want to take Credit for these. You believe that all gratitude and praise belong to God, who freely grants us the grace. May God continue to reward you well in your life. I trust that Jesus will reward you well too. God doesn’t like the work of His Hand destroyed. He won’t forget you, may the healing hands of God perfect your health in Jesus name. Amen.

I

am very grateful to Almighty Father and to you for your Sincerity and Kindness on a daily basis. There is no instrument to measure the extent of the struggle you have been through so as to provide for my needs and the children’s since I knew you. You go about performing your duties without grudges or complaints. Your desire is to see the children be the best they can be in this life. You worked hard so that I and the children will not suffer in vain in Jesus, name. You pray a lot and believe in God Our Lord. You don’t like missing church service or being late to the church since your youth until now. Because of these characteristics, friends and families dub you as “Pastor”, “Rev. Father,” or the “Person next to the Pope.” You are fond of prayers

for your children, families and other people known and unknown. You always believe in prayers and progress of everybody. May God continue to grant you favors and accept your request in Jesus name. Amen. You are one of the best people that I know. I believe God has worked overtime when He was creating you. Laugh!!! Your attitude to life is simple. Your respect for others is genuine. Your love for your children and families is unique. Your kindness to everybody is embracing. Your patience to me and the children is indulging, but the wisdom you handle any situation is the wisdom from above ( James 3:17). Your ideas often are simple but often provide lasting insurance to easing troublesome matters. Your open and clear mind to all people around you is constant. Your help to everybody or anybody shows your reliable personality and unselfish characteristics. Your love for me, children, families, and friends, are worth mentioning. Above all, your gentleness and quietness are not too common. hanks to Almighty God for giving you to me and my children. I won’t ask for any better person than you. I believe God knew before He let me meet you. All the above, are some of the descriptions I can say that make a nice man. You are a good person special with the flesh of our God. To quote your response “All gratitude and praise belong to God and His son Jesus our Redeemer” that’s always your response when I thank you for the daily help you give me and the children. I love you for who you are. May the Lord continue to answer our prayers. May the Lord accept and be pleased with us in His Seat of Wisdom. May He heal all your sickness. May He grant us total healing of the spirit and body as we are now advancing in age in Jesus name, Amen. From the bottom of my heart, I love you. You are all special and beautiful works of God’s own divine hands that are ordained with divine purposes. My motherly love for you and appreciation increases everyday. I hope you recognize this. May God complete the Gracious work, which He has begun in your lives. My belief is real and strong that God never does an unfinished job. You are all individuals with different personalities, and characters. You all have been trying your very best to work hard so as to reach your own goals and potentials in life. Our Lord has been always merciful to all of us. At the same time, you all have gone through hard times in one way or the other. I believe it is part of normal human life. But Jesus has always seen us through and sees that we all land on solid, progressive and better situations. Praise be to God. Above all, I thank you all individually and collectively for being good reliable children and for being nice to yourselves and to others. TO MY HUSBAND’S FAMILIES

Since I came into your family that started with my fatherin law and mother-in law, the Late Pa Theophilus and Late Mama Comfort FaseAbidakun, I have been accepted as one of their own children. When I came into their house, I saw a lot of similarities in their behaviors and upbringing of the children. At times, I felt like a I was dreaming because my husband’s household behavioral style resembles that of our parental home. So, I tend to ask myself several times, “is this Ijan or Akure?”

T

he characteristics of my father-in-law and my own father were so similar. You thought they were twins. Pa Theophilus was very kind and generous. He was very firm and truthful in dealing with people. I was not able to be with him for long before I came to this country. Before I went back home, he had passed on.
