THE JOURNEY - NAIJA

S

a m u e l Oluwadare Ojo Teniola was born into the family of late Pa James and Mama Esther Teniola on March 18th 1954 in Ara Ekiti, Nigeria. After his primary school education as a child, he proceeded to attend Christ Apostolic Church Grammar School from 1966 to 1970 for his secondary school education. As a young boy, he was noted to possess unusual brilliance and excellence in school and as such, he was encouraged to pursue a career in medicine. Subsequently, by the grace of God he was accepted into the University of Ile-Ife College of Medicine in 1971 , arguably one of the best medical schools in the nation at the time and graduated as a medical doctor among the top of his medical school class in 1979. Dr. Teniola continued to experience God’s favor as he would meet his wife and best friend , now First Lady Bukola Teniola ( former Obembe) in 1978 and after 4 years of courtship, they got married on December 25, 1982. Since that time, God has been faithful to them as a couple and as a family as

God has blessed them with four children; Modupe, Babajide, Oluwadamilola and Tolulope and two grandchildren, Deborah Oluwakemi and David Oluwadamilola Adeyefa ( children of their daughter, Modupe and son-in-law, Oludayo Adeyefa). fter Dr. Teniola completed his medical school education , he performed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and shortly thereafter he pursued and completed a house- man ship (residency) and fellowship in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology ( with a special interest in Hepatology) in 1985. Upon his graduation, he stayed on as faculty at the University of Ile-Ife College of Medicine and lectured and taught medical students from 1985 to 1988. However, in 1989, given his heart of service he decided to return back to his hometown of Ekiti to give back to serve the underserved population in Ado-Ekiti and took up a position as one of the very few medical doctors at the time at the State Hospital of Ado-Ekiti . Within only a few years, given his hard work and tenacity, by God’s grace he was promoted to be the Chief Medical Director of the hospital in 1993. In addition, given his love for his country and hometown, despite being a busy family man and physician, he volunteered his time and got involved with serving his local community as such he played a pivotal role in the creation of Ekiti State as he served as the Secretary to the Creation of Ekiti State from 1993 to 1996. In 1996, however, Dr. and Mrs. Teniola began to sense a call to transition out of Nigeria.

THE JOURNEY CONTINUES- UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

I

n 1996, after winning the Visa Lottery, Dr. and Mrs. Teniola despite living a comfortable life in Nigeria, sensing a call to move out, travelled with their four young children to the United States of America arriving first in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This was a huge sacrifice for the family and not an easy move, as they left everything they had and everyone they knew back at home to go to a “ foreign land in which they knew not”. But they obeyed the voice of God. The next few years would prove to be extraordinarily challenging as they being a family of 6 shared and lived in a small 2 room apartment as Dr. Teniola prepared to take the US medical licensing exams. During this time, Mrs. Teniola worked various menial and tasking jobs and many long hours just to support and help make ends meet for the family. Things were so tough physically and financially that they even contemplated going back to Nigeria. But God is faithful. After 2 years of hard work, labor, and long sleepless nights, in 1998 Dr. Teniola has successfully passed all his examinations as was given a residency program in New York in Internal Medicine at the New York University Medical Center, which necessitated the family moving to New York. Again, God demonstrating his faithfulness would grant Dr.

5|

Teniola extraordinary favor and an peculiar “ overtaking anointing” that lead Dr. Teniola to complete his residency in an expedited fashion 1 year ahead of his peers in the year 2000. Subsequently, God led Dr. and Mrs. Teniola and they moved with the family to Atlanta, Georgia in 2001. From 2001- 2003, Dr. Teniola would work as a independent medical consultant at the Veteran’s Administration (VA) Medical Center, Prison system and Medical College of Georgia. Eventually, by the grace of God, Dr. Teniola opened up his very own private practice, Mercy Healthcare/ Atlanta Primary Care in 2005 and he and his partner ran it successfully until 2012.

T

he Teniola family story thus far is really a testimony as God led them from humble beginnings in Ekiti State, Nigeria to the United States. And though the initial transition was rough and challenging to say the least, God being faithful brought them through. Truly, weeping may endure for a night, but joy is coming in the morning. Thus the sermons that Pastor Teniola preaches of God’s faithfulness when one leads a life of obedience to God is one that he and his family have lived and experienced personally. God is truly good. Pastor T’s story thus far, is truly an inspirational testament to the grace and faithfulness of God.

D

THE JOURNEY- THE CALL

r. Teniola was born into a christian home and into family of prayer warriors and so it was that at a very young age, he was taught the value of prayer and fearing God. Nonetheless, given his natural curiosity and penchant for information, he read widely about other religions and philosophies of the world. But the seed of the Word of God was sown so strongly in his heart, that despite his intellectualism, he gave his life to Christ and committed strongly to the Lord while a medical student at the University of Ile-Ife. He would join the Bethel Fellowship Campus Fellowship arm of Christ Apostolic Church, under the leadership of Professor Imevbore in 1973.

S

o then it was a no brainer to him when he and the family eventually were led to Atlanta, Georgia he decided to join the Bethel Fellowship Church in Atlanta, Georgia 2001 under the leadership of Pastor Adeyemi,

whom God used greatly to inspire him more so to service and dedication to God.

A

fter many years of service and commitment, God saw it fit to promote him to a higher level of responsibility and service, and Dr. Teniola was ordained a Pastor by the grace of God in 2006. A few years later, after serving with his friend and colleague in God’s vineyard, Pastor Felix Aduyame, God called for him to move to CAC Bethel- Ellenwood in 2009 where he continued to serve with his good friend, Pastor Kayode Oyewunmi. And as God would have it, in 2012 he was promoted to be the Senior Pastor of CAC Bethel Ellenwood.

P

astor Teniola is fully committed to using his gifts, talents and resources to serve the body of Christ. He is a passionate teacher of the Word. He truly believes in the simplicity of Christianity and he loves to see the lives of people transformed and blessed as they obey God. He is true man of God who loves the Lord, loves and serves his family, and is filled with compassion for lost souls. As such, God had blessed him and his family immensely and it with no doubt that God still has much more in store for him and it with out a doubt that where God is taking Pastor Teniola and the family is still far.

Daddy!

Happy Birthday

D

addy, I am so grateful to God for sparing your life thus far. You have been an integral part of who I am and I just want to thank you for always believing in me. Words cannot express how you have contributed to the person that I am today. Ever since I was a child, following you to clinic in Ado-Ekiti, I wanted to be a physician just like you. Your love for medicine inspired me so much that I wanted to experience the same joy that you felt \when it comes to medicine. Now I know we have this very healthy competition, but I have been reminded all my life by Mommy and of you of course about how you cleared all the awards at your medical school graduation. Growing up hearing that I just automatically told myself that if my dad can do it, I certainly can. Even when the road seemed tough, I told myself that if Daddy can, I can.

N

ot only were you a physical reminder that I could do all things through Christ, you also held my hands every step along the way. I remember in college when I performed so badly in my first semester, instead of stern correction, you and mommy encouraged me and told me that all hope was not lost. Like you, I would eventually graduate medical school with honors and eventually with your guidance I was able to pick the right the right specialty in medicine that suited my skills and personality.

You not set the standards academically, but you also did it spiritually. While, you never forced religion on us growing up, seeing your relationship with God, your dedication the to the church and most importantly your lifestyle, made it easy for all us to believe in this God . The love that you have for us affirmed us made us feel that if my earthly father can love me this much, then God as a Heavenly Father must love me just that more more. You calmness about life and the belief that God can do anything has been infectious. Your motto has always been that obedience is the key when it comes to walking with God and seeing how God has blessed you inspired me to do the same because seeing what the Lord has done in your life is living proof that obedience to the word of God provokes the blessing of God.

T

hank you so much for all the love that you have showered upon me and I pray that the Lord will continue to bless you and enlarge your territory. In this lifetime, may you never lack in health, love, wisdom and the grace of God. I love you Daddy....Happy Birthday. Sincerely,

MODUPE ADEYEFA

My

Father Hero My

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. Psalm 37: 25

W

here do I begin, perhaps lets start in a small town in Ara in Ekiti on March 18, 1954. You can’t even find that place on your google map. My father was born into the Teniola household. My father would tell me stories of how his father was a prayer warrior and a man of God. His senior brother, Rufus Teniola, was the first college graduate from Ara. My father followed suit and went on to graduate from the top of his Medical School class in University of Ife. I even looked up his name on pubmed and he does have publications. Trust me google it. My father married my mother on Christmas Day in 1982; one of the best decisions of his life. Fast forward to 1996. We won the DV lottery. My father left Nigeria on August 2, 1996. We followed suit on August 25, 1996. We lived in Pittsburgh for two years. We stayed in a small basement in the first 6 months in Pittsburgh all 6 of us. My father would work minimum wage in the day and study hard at night. My mom would work night-shifts standing on her feet for like 10 hours, and then pursue nursing school. Both of them were working hard so that their children can get an education and achieve the American dream. Imagine giving up all the success that you have achieved in the past and now having to restart from ground zero and struggle

just to earn a living and with 4 kids, its only by the grace of God that we are able to have this celebration today. I remembered when my siblings and I would pray every night to restore us back. Fast forward to New York from 1998 to 2001. My father started and finished his residency. He knew more than his attendings as a intern of course. We moved to Atlanta in 2001, and through the years, my father has put 4 children through college and on towards medical school.

T

hrough it all, my father always put God first and foremost in everything. Even though, growing up, we had our disagreements, he always had my best interest in heart. He never forced anything on us. He always preached putting God first, humility, and helping others. He would always pray for us. I know the prayers were answered, because of God’s intervention in my life. He is doctor, pastor, entrepreneur, and most of all a Great Husband, Father, and Grandfather. My hope and prayer is that I also become as a great of a Father to my future children as he was to me.

My Dedication to my Father

W

hat can I say about my father Daddy Dupe. Words can’t describe how much he means to me and how much he has influenced my life. He is my role model and I am truly blessed to have him as a father. I appreciate how he expected a lot from us but at the same time never pressured us to do anything we didn’t like. I remember when I started playing football; he wasn’t so interested but started to enjoy the game just for his son. Thats the type of man he is. He encouraged me through every game I played and prayed for me every time I touched the field. There is no one like my father. Till this day he still enjoys watching football with me. Matter of fact we have some of the same interests today and I find myself spending hours with my dad and won’t even know where the time went. I also remember how

he used to play video games with us, especially tony hawk! Now you may not know but, Daddy was very good in that game. It was just one of the ways he spent time with us. Looking back now I can only appreciate him more for doing so.

A

nother thing about my dad is his love for the Lord. He’s always teaching us about how great it is to know the Lord. Again he never forced us but made his life a living example of what the Lord can do. The relationship he has with the Lord only inspires me to seek and find the God of my father. I don’t have enough words to describe my father but I pray one day to be a man like him. I love you and Happy Birthday. May God continue to bless you! OLUWADAMILOLA TENIOLA

I

The Best

Daddy

n my eyes, there is no competition, I have the greatest father in the entire world. Daddy embodies what it means to be an excellent father. He cares for his children in every way imaginable. He makes us his world, and I appreciate it so much. Ever since I was a young girl, my daddy has always wanted to push the best out of me. I remember when I was eight years old, I wanted to be a cheerleader so bad at the local community park. I went to one practice and instantly fell in love. The next day, I asked my dad to take me to practice, and he replied with an ever resounding, “NO.” I was so sad, and I asked him why. Daddy simply responded and said, “ I don’t want you to cheer for people, I want people to cheer for you!” Now, that quote really made my day, it actually made my life. However, I am not too sure if he really meant it or if he was trying to find a way to not have to drive me to practice lol. Either way, I have lived my life trying to be the best version of me that I possibly can be. I thank my father for always treating me like a princess and allowing me to realize my self worth. Daddy is a very generous man, but even with that, he has instilled in me the meaning of modesty and how to be grateful for everything that I have been blessed with. Watching my father throughout the years has also taught

Ever....

me the true meaning of dedication and devotion. My father is devoted to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I think I can count on one finger how many times I have seen my father miss a single wednesday bible study, friday prayer meeting or sunday service. Let us not forget about the occasional Saturday meetings either. His love for the Lord resounds greatly within me and I hope one day to emulate him more and more.

D

addy is also dedicated to his family. He loves spending time with us! When we were younger he even used to play video games and always enjoyed watching television. Actually, if there is anything that me and my father share, it is a love for movies. Whenever I am home, he and I always find a movie to watch. It is usually me providing him with great options, but either way, I love spending that quality time with him. Thank you so much daddy for being an epitome of what it means to be a great Father. You have set the bar for any man that I will allow to be called the father of my children. I appreciate you daily, and from the bottom of my heart, I LOVE YOU. TOLULOPE TENIOLA

M

ost men can not forget the first time they meet the father of their future wife. I know I can’t. It was a cool evening in March, March 15, 2005 to be precise and I had just arrived at his house to take Modupe out for dinner date in celebration of her birthday. As I proceeded nervously into the house, I found him eating a bowl of pounded and egusi soup on the dining table and the first thing he said was for me to come join him. As people of Nigerian descent know, this is the culturally appropriate thing to do. But of course I politely declined. I mean, who eats under such pressure? And then he said jokingly, “ Ah, awe a kii n tiju ni ile wa o” meaning “ my friend, we are not shy in our house”. This was my introduction to the man fondly known as Dr. T. Within a few minutes, I had finally come to personally experience the warmth, hospitality, approachability, humility and sense of humor in the man Modupe had so often bragged of. For the last nine years I have had the privilege of knowing Pastor T, it has been such an awesome experience. I mean, he has just never given me a hard time, except of course when I came to him to ask for Modupe’s hand in marriage. Lol. Joking. us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his for this is the whole duty of man. Ecclesiastes 12:13 19|Letcommandments:

A Wonderful

Father

But what is not a joke, and what everyone knows is that this man loves his family. He loves his children so passionately that I knew that marrying his daughter meant that I had to love and care for her even more so ( not that I need any help doing so : ). But in all seriousness, he set the bar high.

B

ut he has also inspired me as many have alluded to, by his fervent commitment to God, his passion for the Word, his passion for service and lost souls. The simplicity in which he lives his life is refreshing. His mantra of “ obeying God above all is else” is is a joy to behold. As such it not surprising to see how much God has blessed him. His lifestyle is his most powerful sermon and evangelistic tool. He has certainly been a role model as he demonstrated to me that it is indeed possible to be balanced spending time with your family, running a busy medical practice and being devoted to the ministry. I must say, I am a blessed man. I am so blessed not only to have married Modupe, but to have married into this family and to have such a wonderful father in law. To

in law

call him an in law may even pass as insufficient, because from that cool evening in March, he has never treated me as an in law, but rather as a son outright. I can fondly remember how many times Jide, Dami and I sat in the living room with him as we discussed every thing from Lebron James to Barack Obama and then only to pivot to the Bible and have a rigorous debate as to what it means to “ fear the Lord”.

D

addy, you are blessed and indeed you are a blessing. My prayer for you sir as you celebrate today is that God will continue to bless you and continue to use you to be a blessing to many. That as your days be, so shall your strength be. May you reap the fruits of you labor and see more of your children children. Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, neither has it entered into the hearts of man what God has in store for you and the family sir. Happy birthday and a big congratulations again on reaching this milestone. WITH LOVE AND BEST WISHES,

DAYO ADEYEFA

Happy 60th birthday Pastor T! Pastor Teniola, There are so many things we could say about our brother. We call him brother because truly we do not see them as our in laws, but rather as our true family. Since we have met him and the family almost ten years ago now, Pastor Teniola has demonstrated himself to be such a humble and loving man of God. We have personally witnessed his passion for God, family, work and ministry in the house of God. In his ministry, we have seen his dedication to God, we have seen his passion for lost souls, his passion for teaching the undiluted Word of God and his commitment to the youth’s development. Over the years, by the grace of God we have enjoyed such a close and intimate relationship. The love and

compassion that Pastor and Mrs. Teniola have shown our son and our family has been just great. Even just last year, during the home going of our mother and grandmother we saw what it truly means to have family. The family went with us and support given from the whole family, including their family in Nigeria. The love was just overwhelming and we thank God for choosing us to be a part of each other’s lives. May God bless you more and more and may His love overwhelm you. Happy birthday once again and wish you many great years ahead! With Love,

CHRIST APOSTOLIC CHURCH BETHEL FELLOWSHIP

Congratulations!

I

t’s either 1974 or 1975 that we first met – at then University of Ife. It was at the young CAC Bethel church under the pastorage of Professor A.M.A Imevbore. He was the first Pastor in CAC with a PhD degree. We were fed, nourished, rooted and grounded with his spirit filled teaching, preaching and singing. Neither of us knew we were undertaking a Seminary training that will produce Pastors John, Teniola, Adeyemi Solomon, Adeyemi Hezekiah, Bankole, Dele Dada, Aransi and hundreds of others. A big congratulation to you, my brother for your 60th birthday. You and I are evidence that our fathers’ prayers in the 1940s and 1950s viz “O Lord, take our children to great heights in life”, were answered.

23|

I am very proud of you ‘Dokita’, not necessarily for your academic brightness, but for yielding and responding to God’s leadership and discipline. According to Charles Darwin, “It is not the strongest species that survive, nor the most intelligent but the one most responsive to change’. I have noticed with interest the energy that prayers and the Word of God has produced in you, your family and ministry. Thank God for making you a gift and a giver to His Vineyard. You are a faithful brother, friend and co-laborer in the Lord’s Vineyard. Congratulations and Happy Birthday.

An Ode To Pastor Samuel Teniola at 60

e give God the glory for the great things He hath done. A life span of three score years is an important milestone in a person’s life. That means that Dr. Samuel Teniola, popularly known as Pastor. “T” has graciously walked this earth for 60 years! The Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu says, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. The journey of pastor Teniola began 60 years ago and although it still continues, it has yielded very tangible benefits with empirical results. I have known Pastor Teniola now for close to 20 years. He is a fervent student of the Bible and an indefatigable servant of the Lord. He is a fellow worker who is not ashamed of his love for, and devotion to Christ. He is also a very kindly man but he does not hesitate to call it as it is: he is a “straight shooter” in that if you want to hear the truth of any matter, Pastor Teniola will say it as it ought to be said. Just watch him, anytime he wants to “lay down the law”, he takes off his glasses with one hand, (usually the right hand), then, you know what is coming. One of his favorite sayings is that “once you declare for Christ, you no longer have any option of your own”. You are now totally Christ’s. Pastor Teniola is also an evangelist and a teacher. He relishes

declaring the indispensability of Jesus Christ to anyone who will listen and he also takes the time to rightly “divide” the word of God. He is always discovering something new about God every day and he will say, “I fear this God Oh”. In case you do not know yet, Pastor T. is a comedian at heart. He is very funny and warm and he blends in wherever he is, easily mingling with the young as well as the old alike. Around him, there is not a dull moment at all. Doctor Cecilia Babalola will attest to this. But watch out! Beneath that veneer of comedic affect, you better not mess with his American football, or basketball, or soccer, and maybe tennis. However, his only weakness?--He loves God so much. No wonder he is strong. That is why Apostle Paul said, “for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”

H

appy birthday, my aburo (younger “sibling”). God will give you long life and length of days. I thank God for your life, your lovely wife, your adoring children, your affectionate grandchildren (all of whom have enlarged your family), and of course, the church of God. May you run this race for eternity to its glorious end and reign with Christ in Jesus name. Amen. This is your day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I

first met the young, very brilliant Samuel Teniola in 1968 at Christ Apostolic Church Grammar, Efon Alaye. He has always been my senior and mentor. We did not relate much while in school, until he left. Not long after that when I really knew nothing about university nor care to know anything about University, I remember the first person I knew as an ‘undergraduate’ was Dr Teniola . Slim and fresh looking, I remember the school authority introducing him to us as an undergraduate who had not only gained admission to university but had come back to teach us in the school. It was at that level that destiny brought us close to one another as he took interest in me as one of the students while teaching us math and chemistry tutorials. His beautiful handwriting on the board was very visible! His going to university did not rub off on me per se at that stage as my ambition was to be a taxi driver. So unlike him that went straight to university after secondary school, I went to work as a Lab Assistant in Lagos. By 1976 when God’s mercy smiled on me and I eventually gained admission to University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo,) he was already doing his clinicals in Medicine . I can still picture his very clean one room apartment , at the prestigious post graduate hostel of that university. He was very happy for me as the only one who had made it to university in our set at that time.

D

r Teniola was not too keen on religion in those days. He was very focused academically. He wanted his little boy to follow suit. I remember when I eventually gave my life to Christ and was attending church services regularly and frequently at the cricket pavilion with Pastor A. M. A Imevbore as my pastor . His warning to me was ‘Dele, you must focus on your education here and make sure you graduate, because Pastor Imevbore gave his life to Christ after getting his PhD! He however was very happy for me to see that I was able to combine faith and academic excellence. When he graduated and was practicing as a medical doctor in Ilesha Dr Teniola would still find time to come and check on me at Ife. He has time for people and was always positive. He is a natural counselor with his very soft voice. In my 46 years of being a mentee to Dr Teniola I have never seen him get angry or yell at anyone. While I was in Warri as a professional engineer and he was in Ado -Ekiti, we were still in touch. Then from the blues I heard he had relocated to USA and I thought that chapter was closed. Until I found myself in Canada as a full time pastor. Then the mentor- mentee relationship started again.

P

astoring can be very lonely. Apart from your wife that you discuss with which can be monotonous sometimes ,you need someone ,a confidant that can really be trusted and can give you genuine and reliable advice. Pastor Teniola has stood in that capacity for me.I have had crisis in pastoring when

I would have done stupid things particularly over the church we left in Warri and the International Gathering of Eagles Conferences and vision. Pastor Teniola’s counsel is the same. ‘Pastor, leave every thing for God, let God fight your battles, can you fight better than God?’ That is the difference between a mentor and a friend, friends say what you want to hear, mentor’s say what will make you better, even when painful. Many a times ,staying in his Stone Mountain mansion in Atlanta ,I have shared his favorite evening dinner of Amala with assorted meat, with either efo riro or egusi soup which the wife cooks with dexterity and the family eats with joy that has kept his stomach flat at 60!

P

astor Teniola is not only an achiever but desires to see people achieve their vision and purpose in life. I can write a memoir on this embodiment of rare personality, a caring father,a wonderful husband,a successful MD,born counselor ,Pastor of Pastors ,a gifted teacher of the Word of God.

Dr Samuel Oluwadare Teniola ,the entire members of Christ Apostolic Church Bethel Toronto, the alumni of Caposto Grammar School Efon-Alaye,my family and I join your family and all well wishers to wish you happy birthday and pray that God will grant you many more years of good health and good wealth in Jesus name! We understand that sometimes, giving the additional time and financial support may not have been the easiest, but you consistently make it happen for us. We thank you for continuing to believe in us and in your willingness to understand the needs of the modern day youth in today’s church. We pray that as you add years that God Almighty will continue to add wisdom, understanding, and immeasurable blessings and favor. God bless you on this day!!!! Happy 60th Birthday us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his for this is the whole duty of man. Ecclesiastes 12:13 27|Letcommandments:

Tribute to a Mentor/Friend... Dear Dr. T. Congratulations on your sixtieth birthday. It wasn’t long ago when I thought 60 was ….? Well let’s just say, I couldn’t imagine it. I am so happy to say that your youthfulness, energy, spirit, beauty, and brains defy all the illusions of age that I perceived in my mind. You have come to represent that quality of agelessness that is encouraging to many including myself. I thank God Almighty for the opportunity to have met and to know you personally. I came to Ile-Ife in 1983, after obtaining my Medical Degree, for an Internship. It was challenging for a young man starting a career in medicine in a city without family or any support. But you were my supervisor and you had the patience to explain things and correct me. You made learning easy and enjoyable. You were always available to correct my mistakes and guide me through challenging periods. Because of your patience, understanding, and leadership, I had a memorable and fulfilled Internship. Thanks for all the support and advice.

After moving to the US to pursue my ambition, God Almighty reunited us in Atlanta in 2001. And to this day, you continue as a friend, mentor, and spiritual father to my family and me. My late wife loved you so much, that she insisted you direct all the activities on her 50th birthday. It is so much fun being around you. I have great admiration for you and your family. And I always wonder what is your secret to successfully raising your talented children -- but for that you always give Glory to God. I join your friends and family in paying tribute to you and thanking God for his continued blessings on you and your family. Congratulations! Happy Birthday, My Pastor, My mentor and My friend. May God continue to keep and preserve you for many more years to come. I pray you will celebrate 70, 80, etc in Jesus name. Amen. Best Wishes,

Adefisayo Oduwole, M.D.

DR. Teniola

A TRIBUTE TO

lthough we have been medical partners for almost 10 years, our situation is a little different because we did not choose to go into business with one another. We were actually brought together by a third party. I remember that I had already formed an impression of you in my mind before we met that you would be serious, passive, quiet, and dull and that the partnership probably wouldn’t work. I am proud to say that I was TOTALLY wrong about you. Not only are you the opposite of those adjectives, becoming your medical partner turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made!

Y

ou are a brilliant, lively, compassionate, humorous, man of God and I am truly blessed to have you in my life. You have this innate ability to lift the spirits of those that are around you, despite what they are going through and what you are discussing with them. Whether you are educating people about scriptures in the Bible or reminding me that my clock is ticking and that I need to have children soon (SMILE), your words are always spoken out of genuine love and concern. It is impossible to feel dejected or depressed around you because your soul exudes positivity, faith, and hope. Your

presence makes me excited to come to work because I know that you will do or say something that is bound to make me laugh. I can’t even begin to count the numerous “quotes” that I have stolen from you and use on a daily basis. Let’s just say that you should feel confident to know that you can become a comedian after you retire from medicine!

I

n honor of your 60th birthday allow me to say two simple but meaningful words from the bottom of my heart: “Thank You.” Thank you for your willingness to provide spiritual guidance whenever I need it. Thank you for bringing humor and laughter into my life EVERYDAY. Thank you for always being ready and willing to spread God’s Word to believers and non believers. Thank you for the thousands of “free” medical consults you have provided to my patients (because if you charged me for all of them I would be bankrupt)! Most of all, thank you for unconditionally loving me as a partner, sister in Christ, daughter, and friend. Happy Birthday!

HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY TO MY DARLING BROTHER I am forever grateful to God for giving me bro Dare as my brother. God has used you to intervene in crucial moments of my life. Space will not allow me to go into specifics but I will mention a few: You were the only one that shared my vision on Graduate studies, On the eve of our wedding you came in to douse the tension on engagement items. You always think of the best for me even when I would have preferred something less. Bro Dare, you are easy going and always calm even in the face of adversity – you are a great man indeed. I am

always happy to have you in our house so as to partake of your wisdom and intuition. My friends are always flocking our house whenever you are around so as to tap from your wisdom. As I stated in my Inaugural Lecture, you are my friend, encourager, adviser and encourager. You are a man of God, easily forgives others, humble in spirit, a man of deep meditation and full of initiatives. Bro Dare, I love, cherish and appreciate you. Many happy returns of the day, long life and prosperity in Jesus name –

Happy Birthday!!! A Tribute to a great Brother-in-law at 60 Popularly known as Uncle Dare by our children, Brother Dare by my wife, Dr T by some and Daddy Dupe by many of us, Dr Teniola is a man of great influence playing different significant roles in the lives of different people. A physician by training and a pastor by calling, Dr Teniola is blessed with unique gifting of deep intuition and discernment. Since 1986 when I first met Dr Teniola, I have never stopped to marvel at his diagnostic skills even before any medical test was conducted. The tests most of the time would end up confirming his opinion. A man of great wisdom, Dr Teniola is blessed with political sagacity, soft spoken, his words are always fitly spoken and loaded with wisdom. Dr Teniola, you are a man that shows great care with deep sense of empathy. You are not only apt to give wise counsel, you also do not withhold when it comes to giving of your substance. As you attain this significant mile stone in life, I want to use the opportunity to say a big thank you for your kindness, caring heart, generosity and wise counsels at all times. I would also like to wish you a very happy birthday and best wishes for the years to come. As your days are, so shall your strength be in Jesus’ name. Every blessing!

- Agboola Odeyinka

It is an honor for me to write some words of appreciation in recognition of your 60th birthday. Words can not express how appreciative I am to you for everything you have done for me. Your generosity towards me and my family knows no boundaries and I can’t even imagine how I would have made it through the difficult times in my life without your assistance. I also appreciate the helpful advice you willingly provide me regarding my marriage and raising my 2 sons. Our bond has grown stronger over the years and is now to the point where I am pleased to serve as your personal chauffeur to the bank, pharmaceutical dinner meetings, and anywhere else you want to go! I especially enjoy shopping with you at our favorite place (Joseph Banks Clothing Store) as well as accompanying you when you purchase cars (“Going once, going twice....”). I am constantly in awe of how savvy of a business man you are as well as how well you are able to negotiate prices and calculate numbers in the blink of an eye. The proof of our strong bond is supported by the fact that you are the only person that can call me “boy” and get away with it! Thank you for being an understanding boss, a compassionate brother, and a second father. Happy Birthday
