Digging is hard work

Day one is digging caves in the snow to stay during the night. Day two is the longest march, 17 kilometers to the Breisjøseter touris camp; day three is about 13kilometers down to the civilization. Day one started with a forecast telling about wind, a bit of snow but mostly sunny. The pupils were divided into groups of three and four. Each group had to make their own cave large enough to house the whole group and their equipment Digging was hard work, but after five hours all group had their caves approved by the teachers. Then it was time to gather around the fireplace, preparing dinner, social activities and just relaxing.

Later the sun went down, night came and it was time to crawl into sleeping bags and try to get some sleep. Then the wind increased, and snow started to pile up in front of the caves. In the morning all caves was covered in snow and the pupils had to dig themselves out Day two started with a wind shifting between a strong breeze and near gale force (between 12-14 m/s). There were discussions about if it was safe to start the tour towards Breisjøseter, but after 15 minutes of snow and wind, the sky was clearer and the sun shone, but the wind was still hard. The fact that it was back wind made it easier to keep going, so 18 pupils and three teachers kept on towards the final destination. After about three hours we had a pause. It was time for eating and something warm to drink. This was also the “point of no return”. From now on the distance towards Breisjøseter would be shorter than the way home. We gathered around a cabin to find shelter for the wind, but everyone was in good mood, so Resting at Stråsjøen the decision was easy. We would go on. Two hours and about 17 kilometers later we could all relax in front of the fire place at Breisjøseter. After a shower and taking care of equipment we had a nice three-course dinner. Then more relaxing, singing, card playing, surfing the internet on mobile phones, updating Facebook and so on, it was time for bed.

Finally at Breisjøseter

Already at half past seven the next day everyone was ready for breakfast and pack some food for the last twelve kilometers of high mountain skiing in hard wind. Today the wind was even harder than yesterday, but the sky was clear, and the spirit was good. We had to follow the marked route because the wind and the drifting snow made it hard to go outside it. After about five kilometers the track made a turn and now we had the wind straight in our faces, but fortunately only for about ten minutes. Now we were at the tom, only five more kilometers downhill to Atnasjø Café. When we reached the forest we could relax and have something to eat before we finished down to the road where the bus waited to take us home.

March 1 By Stela and Natali Baba Marta is a mythical character in Bulgarian folklore. In folk beliefs represented in proverbs and tales, her name is connected with the name of the month "March". Three months are personified in the mythic present Bulgarian - January, February and March January and February are like brothers with hot nature - Big and Small horned beetle long-horned beetle. Baba Marta is considered their sister who is smiling and sometimes benevolent, sometimes unpredictably evi

The « Guignols de l'info » is a french satirical tv program with puppets who present the tv news. This program is broadcast on Canal+ since 1988 and it is presented by the puppet of PPDA ( Patrick Poivre d'Arvor). He was a famous journalist on TF1 and he

presented the news for 20 years. The tv show do parodies about politics in the world and french society but also about celebrities. This program was inspired of the British Tv show “Spitting image” (it was an idea of Alain de Greef (the creator of this program)).

Our opinions : We like the puppets in general and it's really funny. We think the subjects about which they speak, are interesting. When we watch this Tv show, we laugh a lot !!!!!!!!!

We invite you to have a look on videos (with the link which is just above). Our favourites puppets are Segolène Royal and Jacques Chirac.

In March there are many customs and festivals dedicated to the coming spring. The most famous custom associated with Baba Marta is zakichvaneto people and young animals Martenitsa (twisted white and red thread) on March 1 - the day of the arrival of Baba Marta. Throughout the month to perform rituals to banish snakes and lizards, and predictions related to some migratory birds.

In this text I will be discussing on Christmas

Christmas in Lithuania Every country in the world has its own culture, traditions and celebrations. Most of Christian countries celebrate Christmas – one of the biggest Christian celebrations in the world. This amazing festival is also celebrated in my

homeland which is a Roman Catholic country.

We try to concentrate ourselves on Jesus and its birth, be calm and peaceful, apologize and forgive, make as many as possible good jobs. People belonging to nongovernmental organizations and communities are organizing charities; teachers and students at

schools are giving each other burning candles - a sign of love and peace. We also receive little gifts from each other, sing and listen to Christmas songs, try to take care of homeless people and animals. In conclusion, we have to become better persons and try not to do

sweets – that isn’t allowed on this day. It’s called fasting – abstinence from some kind of food and drinks. It symbolizes person’s wish ask God for forgiveness (absolution). But we are also having some meals that must be included. One of

the most important ones is poppy pastries served with traditional Lithuanian drink or soup – poppy milk. Between all the plates served on the table we must put one which is empty – that’s how we give

In Roman Catholicism, Christmas celebration is an important part of religion and it plays a big role in each person’s life. When the Advent (time before Jesus

birth) comes in December, we already start preparing for Christmas celebration by praying, visiting churches and chapels, keeping on the lights, making Christmas decorations etc. The Advent is meant to be a sacred time for us.

The Bulgarian Easter traditions are a variation of traditional Orthodox Easter traditions. Here in Bulgaria, egg cracking is good for more than just eating the egg. The bright red colored egg is the symbol of Easter for the Orthodox Christians all over the world. The traditional Orthodox Paschal greeting is: "Christ has risen!" The answer is: "Indeed He has risen". This is the greeting during 40 days after Pascha. Also, the greeting is exchanged during the ritual tapping of the eggs which is explained below. The first egg is always painted red to symbolize the blood of Christ and should be put aside - either to be buried in the fields to ensure fertility or kept in the home to bring good luck. On Easter Sunday married couples traditionally visit the best man at their wedding and have roast lamb for lunch. The Christian tradition of the red egg custom is connected with a specific legend. Mary Magdalene, whom Jesus had cured from all the evil spirits within her, was the first one to see Jesus rise from the dead and she went around the world to spread the happy news. She reached Rome and Emperor Tiberius’s palace. According to the tradition, everyone visiting him was supposed to carry a gift to the Emperor. The rich people were carrying expensive gifts while the poor ones offered whatever they could afford. Mary Magdalene took an egg to Tiberi-

us’s palace and handed it to the Emperor with the following greeting:”Christ has risen from the dead!” The Emperor could not believe what he heard and responded: “How could anyone ever rise from the dead?! It is as impossible as that white egg to turn red right now!” While Tiberius was talking, the egg in Mary Magdalene’s hands started changing its color until it finally became bright red. The Easter greeting ever since has remained “Christ has risen from the dead” and Christians all over the world color eggs in red (and various other colors) for Easter to celebrate their belief in the resurrection. The bright red colored egg is the symbol of Easter for the Orthodox Christians all over the world. It is tradition that the eggs are colored on Holy Thursday after the Divine Liturgy. The eldest woman in the house has the privilege of dying the eggs. The Easter breads are a worldwide Orthodox tradition as well. These are big or small and decorated. The bread is called "kolache" or "kozunak". One of these Easter breads may be specially decorated with one or more (but always an odd number) of the red-colored eggs. This

bread is taken to church on Saturday evening. The church bells begin to ring just before midnight, calling Orthodox Christians to worship. At midnight, a special sequence of services takes place: Midnight Office, Rush Procession, Matins and Divine Liturgy. These are the services of Great and Holy Pascha (Velikden). Following the service, the clergy blesses the breads and eggs brought by the people and they return with them to their homes. The eggs are cracked after the midnight service and during the next days. One egg is cracked on the wall of the church, and this is the first egg eaten after the long Great Fast. The ritual of tapping the eggs takes place just before the Easter lunch begins. Each person will select his or her egg. Then the people in turn exchange the Easter greeting ("Christ has risen!" / "Indeed He has Risen") 3 times before tapping their egg against the eggs of others.

The person who ends up with the last unbroken egg is believed to have a year of good luck

Kon Tiki, Nominated for Oscar The Norwegian man, Thor Heyerdahl, wanted to prove his theory that Polynesia was populated by the people from South America. Thor decided to go on an expedition across the Pacific Ocean because if he could do it, the South Americans could do it. He was going to cross it with a fleet and he baptized his fleet Kon-Tiki after the sun God. He brought five more men, none of them knew each other and only one of them could sail. Thor himself was afraid of water and he couldn’t swim. He would sacrifice everything to prove that he was right. They started in Peru 28th of April 1947. 8000 km and 101 days were past; they finally ended the trip in Raroia in Polynesia the 7th of August. Our opinions The movie can be kind of boring. It is the same things which are going through the whole movie. We also know what is going to happen at the end of the movie. We know that they came safely to Polynesia. So the action with for example the shark and the logs during the fleet, are getting kind of ruined because you know it will end well. Kon Tiki is also a good movie because it is based on a true story and a tribute to Thor Heyerdahl.
