THE FLOOD OR THE ROMANCE OF THE RIVER AND THE PEOPLE THE FLOOD CHAPTER 1
Once, a city tried to overcome the nature. The river died -murdered-. Your resurrection was a catastrophe. A natural phenomenon, a reaction to the conditions imposed by modern cities. “Everybody knows that our cities were built to be destroyed” After decades of confinement, the river imposes -of once all- over man. Destroys all that has been imposed. A devastating storm, never seen before in this region, floods the city. “And it rained for 40 days and 40 nights.” The force of water, mud and stones from the mountains, violently destroys much of the city. the chaos settles. The survivors, desperately fleeing to higher areas of the city. Kowloon is on Paulista. An urban archipelago. Urban islands. It is not known how long the town will be submerged. And if it stays forever? We testify The Flood in São Paulo “And after 365 days, the water have stabilized.” The survivors descend down the hill, toward the “floodplain’’. The banks begin to be occupied. -a new “Fertile Crescent”? -. Hopelessness reigned supreme. Small communities flourish at strategic points -which bring us to the territorial configuration of those who already was living there, the indios -. The river is a blessing. The modern city was removed, and yours ruins are the beginning of a new city. The inhabitants, those strong to love it, make a desperate appeal to Architecture. The new city is a masterpiece. Life imitates Art -and Architecture-. The inhabitants come to love it, rave in the hydrographic boundaries.

THE ARCHIPELAGO CHAPTER 2
In São Paulo, a city made of islands, to go to places there is always the choice between land and water route. The distance between two points is rarely a straight line but a circuitous route between the tops of other buildings, which doubles up numerous options. Thus, the inhabitants of the archipelago are spared to travel the same routes every day. Moreover, the paths are not limited only in a single layer. The network of canals and the street network overlaps with what they call “The Rip”. An intense band of pleasure through the city in its historical axis. In addition to giving a warm welcome to those arriving in the city -with its flutuantes- structures, this architecture is a linear sequence of changing programs and events that combine segments of several high ways, the SURFACE and subsoil. Thus, the inhabitants have the daily fun to go a new route to go to the same places. In Sao Paulo to the more routine lives happen without repeating.
