An affluent and growing catchment

The Saudi capital’s population exceeded 7 million people in 2021, making it the largest city in the GCC and over a million inhabitants larger than Dubai. With an expected population growth to more than 16 million by 2030, Riyadh is the primary business center in the Kingdom. Government data indicates that the population is composed of 73% Saudi nationals and 27% expatriates.

Diriyah Square’s weighted catchment area will be 2.8 million people. The project meets demand from a particularly affluent customer, with a combined total retail spend of SAR 63.8 billion (17bn USD / €14.7bn EUR). The project’s main trade area spend is 23% above the Riyadh average.

By 2030, retail spend is also expected to grow significantly, reaching SAR 77.5 billion ($20.7bn USD / €17bn EUR) by the end of this decade (Source: CISTRI).

Diriyah‘s strategic location makes it accessible to global markets –+30 million visitors are expected annually.
