RIDER’S GUIDE 1-8 DECEMBER 2024

In the Gran Canaria Bike Week, which we have been celebra�ng since 1988, we have experienced unforge�able moments and edi�ons with routes through the island's geography where fun is guaranteed kilometre a�er kilometre.

In 2024 we will be 36 years old. A long road where we have le� our mark and gained na�onal recogni�on. and interna�onal. We have cycled together, se�ng the pace and reaching every goal. The island is our host and the illusion moves us in this unique event in the calendar.

December is Gran Canaria Bike Week and from the 1st to the 8th we will feel and get infected by the good weather, the atmosphere and the expecta�on that always generates a new opportunity to discover the island on two wheels.

Collec�on of the bag and bib from Saturday 30th from 16:00 to 20:00 at the Hotel Suites & Villas by Dunas (bag and bib GCBW and Gran Fondo Pico de las Nieves).

Pack weekend:

Pick up bag and bib on Thursday 5th from 16:00 to 20:00 at the Hotel Suites & Villasby Dunas (bag and bib GCBW).

Friday 6th and Saturday 7th from 16:00 to 20:00h at Hotel Suites & Villas by Dunas

Daily stage:

Pick up your bib number the day before each stage from 16:00 to 20:00 at the Hotel Suites & VIllas by Dunas or during the opening hours of the Hotel from 16:00 to 20:00h, except for the Arucas Gran Canaria Verde stage.

Exceptions:

Wednesday 4th at Polidepor�vo Juan Vega Mateos (Gáldar) from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. exclusively for the par�cipants of the Dragon Tail stage who have not picked it up before.

Thursday 5th in the municipality of Arucas (loca�on to be deﬁned) from 16:00 to 20:00h exclusively for the par�cipants of the Arucas Gran Canaria Verde stage.

Incidents:

Up to 1 hour before each event at the start of each stage

*To collect the bib, it will be necessary to present:

• DNI in the case of NON-federated par�cipants

• Federa�ve Cycling Licence in the case of Federated par�cipants.

1. TotalEnergies Gran Fondo Pico de las Nieves stage:

• Saturday 30 November collec�on of the bicycles at the Hotel Suites & Villas by Dunas 19:00 and 20:00h (delimited, fenced and guarded area with surveillance all night in Telde).

• Sunday 1 December:

• Departure by bus from Hotel Suites & Villas by Dunas at 7:00h to Telde (cyclist only).

• Pick up your bike at Plaza de San Juan (Telde) on presenta�on of your race �cket.

• First departure by bus from Telde at 16:30h to the Hotel Suites & Villas by Dunas (also by bike).

• Second departure by bus from Telde at 18:00h to the Hotel Suites & Villas by Dunas (also by bicycle).

2. Stage Gáldar - Camino de Santiago:

• Tuesday 3 December:

• Departure by bus from the Hotel Suites & Villas by Dunas at 7:45h to Tunte (also by bicycle).

• Single return bus departure from Gáldar at 14:30h to the Hotel Suites & Villas by Dunas (cyclist only).

**The bicycles will be kept in Polideportivo Juan Vega Mateos in Gáldar for the whole of Tuesday until their arrival the following day.

3. Nissan - Dragon Tail stage:

• Wednesday 4 December:

• Departure by bus from Hotel Suites & Villas by Dunas at 7:00h to Gáldar (cyclist only).

• Pick up your bike at the Polidepor�vo Juan Vega Mateos in Gáldar on presenta�on of your race �cket.

4. Stage - Arucas Gran Canaria Verde:

• Thursday 5 December pick up of the bicycles at the Hotel Suites & Villas by Dunas between 19:00 and 20:00h (delimited, fenced and guarded area with surveillance all night in Arucas).

• Friday 6 December:

• Departure by bus from Hotel Suites & Villas by Dunas at 7:00h to Arucas (cyclist only)

• Collec�on of the bicycle at the Polidepor�vo Municipal de Arucas on presenta�on of the dorsal �cket.

• Departure by bus from the car park of the fairgrounds of Arucas at 14:30 to the Hotel Suites & Villas by Dunas.

5. Stage Mogán - Little Stelvio:

• Saturday 7 December pick up the bicycles in Puerto Rico for the boat trip Puerto de Mogán, where the bicycles will be delivered on presenta�on of the race �cket.

TIME OF CUTS AND ABANDONMENT

The organisa�on reserves the right to force the par�cipant to abandon the race:

• Whenever the par�cipant shows signs of extreme fa�gue, dehydra�on, extremely slow pace or presents any abnormal symptoms that prevent him/her from par�cipa�ng normally.

• If the par�cipant breaches any of the rules governing these regula�ons (see sec�on on disqualiﬁca�ons).

• Once the regulatory cut-oﬀ �me from the start of the race has elapsed.

In certain stages, the organisers will allow cyclists who are not in op�mal physical condi�on to temporarily abandon the race, ge�ng into the closing vehicle to rejoin the race at the next regrouping or refreshment point and ﬁnish the stage with the rest of the cyclists.

In the �med sec�ons, there is a maximum �me limit for their comple�on. If this �me limit is exceeded, the cyclist must abandon the race or con�nue at his/her own risk, handing the bib to a member of the organisa�on.

ADVICE

EQUIPMENT

The organisers would like to remind you that it would be advisable to bring windbreakers, cycling jackets and waterproofs to protect you from possible inclement weather during the stages.

REFRESHMENTS

At our refreshment posts you will ﬁnd sugary drinks, fruit, water, sweets and sweets to recover energy and maintain the eﬀort. Remember that you can bring your own refreshment items for the route
