Automotive Inc is a family run business with more than 25 years of automotive repair experience. We maintain the highest level of repair and service at a fair price and are devoted to customer satisfaction. We employ highly skilled ASE service technicians and continue to provide ongoing training so we can stay on top of the latest in the automotive world. We pride ourselves in “Earning Your Business By Earning Your Trust.” In 2007, TGK opened up its first location in Hugo. Five years later, the business needed more space and added a second location in Maplewood (which consolidated with the St. Paul location in 2018). In 2015, the Crystal location opened; St. Paul and Bloomington opened in 2017, and Eden Prairie in 2018. TGK was founded my Troy Kaplan, who owns the business with his wife, Alana. He has been in the automotive industry since he was 16 years old and worked as a technician and managed several automotive shops around the Twin Cities before his dream of opening up his own shop came true. TGK Automotive does “pretty much everything except body work,” Troy said. The business works on all makes and models, and services include standard maintenance, transmission, engine, tire, heating and air conditioning, fleet services, auto electrical, exhaust and hybrid services. Alana said Troy has always been good at keeping up with the latest technology. Customers can receive digital inspections, which include videos and pictures, by email or text message. Even though the company is growing rapidly, the Kaplans want to keep the importance of relationships at the forefront of their business model. “We are big on building relationships as opposed to selling repairs to people,” Alana said. Troy added, “None of our employees are paid on any sort of commissions or bonuses, so we are just here to take care of people’s needs. There is no ambition for any of our people to give you that sales pitch; it is more about educating.” TGK Automotive has continually been growing and expanding it’s reach around the twin cities, adding another 3 stores in 2019 in Chanhassen, St Michael, Brooklyn Park, then January 2020 Big Lake and Ham Lake joined the TGK Family. By August 2020, TGK now has 14 locations and is still growing, adding Maple Grove, Mankato, Chisago City and North Mankato as the newest addition opening August 31.
