Need a perm for a stylin’ curly top? Just say the word. Mad for a mullet? They’ll make it yours. Need knowledgeable hands to manage your biracial locks? Look no further than the streets of Mankato. Former high school athlete Charlie Dundas knew he liked to work with his hands — and that he probably wasn’t cut out for collegiate academics. “My grades weren’t there for college, and I wasn’t interested in four more years of school,” said Dundas. “But I was cutting my own hair during my senior year (at Mankato West). “There weren’t too many barbers here who could cut and line up my hair — basically, there was a lack of providers for people with hair like mine,” said Dundas, who is biracial. Contemplating his post-secondary plans, Dundas and his mom researched various trades and he landed on barbering.
