History Captain Richard White and his family moved from Limerick to Whiddy Island in Bantry Bay in 1690 and purchased Bantry House (then called Blackrock House) in 1739. Today, the eighth and ninth generation of the family still own, manage and live on the estate. The original house was a much smaller “Queen Anne” -style building. The second Earl of Bantry, also named Richard White, and his wife Mary O’Brien of Dromoland Castle, Co. Clare, embarked upon a grand tour of Europe and Russia in the 1820s, collecting the furniture, paintings, tapestries, carpets, and artefacts that are still in the house today. It was during these inspiring travels that they came up with their vision for the layout of the garden and the extension of the house with bay windows, the library, two wings, two stables (east and west), five gatelodges, and a walled garden.

History: Perhaps the best-known historical attraction in Kinsale, Charles Fort, is on the road just beyond Summercove. It is open all year, and regular guided tours are available. Charles Fort is one of the finest surviving examples of a 17th Century star-shaped fort, and much of the construction begun in 1678 remains. The fort has two enormous bastions overlooking the estuary, and three facing inland. Within its walls were all the barracks and ancillary facilities to support the fort’s garrison. The fort continued in military use until 1922.

ARRCHITECT

The Double-skin facade is a system of building has two skins facade it also lets air flows in the inside the building by the cavity wall. The glass skins can be single or double glazing units with a distance from 20 cm up to 2 metres. Often, for protection and heat extraction reasons during the cooling period, solar shading devices are placed inside the cavity.

THE CAVITY WALL OF THE DOUBLE SKIN FACADE The cavity between the two facades may be either naturally or mechanically ventilated. In cool climates the solar gain within the cavity may be circulated to the occupied space to offset heating requirements, while in hot climates the cavity may be vented out of the building to mitigate solar gain and decrease the cooling load. In each case the assumption is that a higher insulative value may be achieved by using this glazing configuration over a conventional glazing configuration. Recent studies showed that the energy performance of a building connected to a double-skin facade can be improved both in the cold and the warm season or in cold and warm climates by optimizing the ventilation strategy of the facade

Kildaton College

Kildaton College: designed a new canteen which contains two stories, It's located at Kildalton College, Piltown, Kilkenny in Ireland. The ground floor is a canteen and the first floor is a cafe including the toilets, staircase and an elevator. Also the building accommodates for 100 people.

Ballingarrane House: 窶帰 real life BIM project hosted by RKD and Clancy Construction involved the following criteria: Structural Analysis , GA's, Site plans, Details and Fire safety. The CME4 got to make the site and give it to AT3 students. However, the site was not clear enough, so we had to make their site fit in their drawings. The quantitative survey was doing the calculation for the cost.
