Teacher of the Week
Wayne Rooney
Born on October 24, 1985, in Croxteth, Liverpool, Wayne Rooney, like any other boy in the city, always wanted to grow up to be a footballer. At age 9, Rooney joined the academy for the team he supported, Everton. At the age of 16, Rooney declared his debut by scoring the late winner that brought an end to Arsenal’s unbeaten 30 winning streaks. On August 2004, Wayne Rooney signed for Manchester United, making a world record transfer fee for a teenager.
“It’s his casual, brotherly attitude that makes me so comfortable to study with him, rather than any other commercial accounting teacher,” says a 8th grade student. Samiul Huq Chowdhury, our Teacher of the Week, has been in this profession for a decade plus one now. He currently teaches Accounting and General and Pure Mathematics at a private tutorial in Lalmatia and at schools like Authentica and British Standard School.

He started teaching as a home tutor while he was still completing his own high school education from Marie Curie School and then started his own tutorial after successful results and much encouragement from his old students. Apart from being in the teaching profession, he is also a degree holder in Human Psychology and a graduate from East West University. Munira Fidai

They say that there comes a moment, when miracles happen. However Shakil doesn’t need to have that “magic moment”. He locks up all his worries in his tiny house in Rayer Bazar, and goes out to play. In his pocket, there is a round, pointy, spinning toy : that is Shakil’s treasure, his little wooden top! His eyes glow as he puts it on the ground and spins the tiny wonder. That is the moment when all the miseries of Shakil’s life fade away…and that moment alone is enough to keep him happy all through the day. Now, that’s a happy spin! TASMIAH NAHREEN AHMED

Want some Magic? Who doesn’t love magic, especially when it comes in a tiny bottle? No, we are not going to make a genie come out of it but we can guarantee you a smile each time you shake it up! Let’s see how:
Budgie Care 101 Crows, sparrows and other birds of the sky aren't fit for cages so you might as well give up raiding their nests in search of eggs. Budgies on the other hand are small and don't take up much space. The following tips will teach you everything you need to know about caring for your Budgie. Patience Your budgie needs time to get used to his new home, don't rush him. Pay attention by talking to him, so that it knows he's being looked after. Food: Make sure your Budgie is fed correctly. Their diet consists of seeds,
Fun Step 1 Find a transparent, clean glass bottle, preferably small enough to put on your study table later. Lids or corks make sure they don’t leak! Step 2 Add glitter flakes, shiny sequins in various shapes and colours, glycerin drops (check the pharmacy down the road) and pretty much whatever else, light and shiny you want in your bottle.

Step 3 Open the cap and fill up the rest of the bottle with cooking oil. You can use a funnel to make it easier and to avoid making a mess. Put the lid on very tightly.
Science
Ocean in a Bottle The aim of this experiment is to see why oil and water cannot mix together.
Step 4 Tilt the bottle from side to side and watch how the water moves like ocean waves!
You will need:
EXPLANATION:
• A clear plastic bottle - a big soft drinks bottle is best • A funnel (optional)
Step 3 Close the lid tightly and wrap a nice satin ribbon or piece of lace over it to give it a prettier look.
• Some water
Step 4 You might want to add a name tag to your bottle to personalise it too.
How To:
Step 5 Hold it against the sun and shake well to smile!
Step 2 Add a few drops of blue food colouring and swish it around a bit until it’s turned a dark blue colour.
• A few drops of blue food colouring Cooking oil - any type will do.
Step 1 Fill one third of the bottle with water. BIGSTOCK

fruits and vegetables. The last thing you'd want is a sad unfed Budgie. SQWAK...I need air: Since he's a house pet and not a bird of the sky, make sure theres enough space for him to breath. You must buy a bigger cage to ensure this. Budgie furniture: If you don't want your Budgie to get bored of its cage, renovate it a bit so that he can live in style. Make a perch for your Budgie, and put in some things in which he can sit. Cleaning: Luckily birds don't need to be bathed, however their homes do. Clean their cage once a week and also change the water.
• Bush baby is a small primate which can be found across many countries, particularly in Africa. • The origin of their name is unknown, but it has been said that they earned it because of their sharp cry. • Their fur is a long and fuzzy kind of wool which is either a shade of silvery gray or brown. • Other than having unusually large eyes they also have large ears which allow them to bend back and wrinkle up. • The creature has thickened pads on its toes, which allow it to cling to and climb trees.
The water and oil do not mix together, but instead they form layers. The oil floats on the water because it is less dense, which is what creates the effect. For liquids to mix together, their molecules need to make new bonds with each other. The oil and water cannot mix together because water molecules have strong bonds between them called hydrogen bonds, while that bond that holds oil molecules together has a different polarity. Basically, oil bonds are not strong enough to break the water’s hydrogen bonds. So the water and oil molecules cannot mix with each other, keeping the water and the oil forever separate. 5 Losing memory A 16-year-old girl survives a plane crash and loses her memory. She goes to live with a foster family temporarily and is named “Violet”. Later she meets an unknown boy named Zen. He claims that her actual name is Seraphina and that they had been in love. When Violet finds herself threatened by agents beyond her control, she is torn between trusting Zen or her own instincts. Jessica Brody’s “Unremembered” fails to grip the readers with the main heroine, portraying her as a volatile personality. The plot has some interesting twists but even with a nail biting cli-

Love. Humour. Mayhem!
In the simplest of definitions, Deponia is a love story. Revolving around the two characters, Rufus and Goal, Deponia is a point and click game, unlike any other. Rufus is a dreamer. He is a typical and unfortunate character who always aims high but fails over and over again. The girl, Goal, is naturally hard to get. She is rich, spoiled, and completely unaware of how attractive she; she also has a removable chip in her head and lives in a floating palace in the sky. Did we mention that she also has the power to blow up the entire planet? Not the most conventional character settings for a ‘Romeo and Juliet’ type of game. One of Deponia’s best parts is the narrative. Lucas Arts games are widely recognised mostly for their games’ sto-
ry lines, as well as the dry humour and irony based scripts involved. Deponia’s story line sets off with Rufus trying to escape his cycle of bad luck and find a fresh start The game engine is wonderfully designed with its massive puzzles, which are not only fun, but in a sense, logical as well. The animation in the game is absolutely wonderful and cartoon animated games are always enjoyable because of their colourful visuals. Deponia is one of the most simple and fun point and click game available in the market now, and is definitely a game worth trying out. The game is available on PCs, so get your copy from any local game store. Azfar Rahman

monster. All hell breaks loose when the creature starts terrorising all of Paris. A young singer at the nightclub name Lucille sympathises with the creature; she names him Francoeur and makes him a part of her act. But a local politician does not approve of this monster and intends to banish him. The settings and the characters is what makes this film very interesting. Saudia Afrin

A French Adventure Animated adventure movie “A Monster in Paris” is a story about a transformation, friendship, and discovery. City of love Paris in 1910, a deliveryman named Raoul with his best friend, Emile go to a famous scientist’s house for a delivery. The house was empty so they wandered into his laboratory to look around. While attempting an experiment, Raoul turns a flea into a 7 foot tall

Gravity falls Gravity Falls is an American animated television series aired in Disney channel earlier in 2012. Created and storyboarded by Alex Hirsch, former writer for The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack,Gravity Falls takes place in a remote Oregon town. Featuring Dipper and Mabel Pines (voiced by Jason Ritter and Kristen Schaal), a pair of twins, staying with their Great Uncle Stan (Alex Hirsch himself), a sleazy con-artist that runs a tourist-trap called the Mystery Shack ripping off gullible vacationers and townies with fake supernatural attractions and gift shops, overseen by man-child Soos (also voiced by Hirsch) and a down-to-earth slacker teenager Wendy (Linda Cardellini). It looks like a dull summer for the twins, soon finding out that there is quite a lot of strange going-on in the little town. While helping their uncle, the twins discover a secret book that sheds light on the many paranormal and otherworldly-oddities like rainbow-vomiting gnomes, brain-feasting zombies found throughout their bizarre-new setting, provided with a balanced amount of mystery, action, humor, and suspense. A lot of TV shows try so hard to reach the sweet spot appealing to kids, parents and young adults at the same time. Gravity Falls, hits that spot brilliantly.
