If you are into internet marketing, you would have heard of the term 'guru' and probably know who they are. Now, most gurus are really nice people. Some aren't, though. But even the good ones do these following things. If you know what they are, you will have a more realistic perspective of the offers gurus make to you. Have you read lines like, "You can work only 2-3 hours a day..." in a sales letter? Actually, if you work only 2-3 hours a day right from the start of your internet marketing career, you won't make much money. If you intend to make internet marketing merely a hobby, then 3 hours a day is fine. But if you're serious about making it a career, 2-3 hours a day is a fallacy, at least at the beginning. The problem is most gurus show you only the final result. They have the luxury of working so few hours a day because they have a support team doing the technical work, answering emails, manning their support desk, web-mastering and a host of other tedious tasks for them. But when they first started out, they worked their tails off, putting in hours and hours of work trying to understand and implement it all. That's the first guru tactic you must be aware of. They usually only show you the final result but don't tell you how they got there. Here's the second tactic. Gurus, more often than not, leave out crucial parts of the puzzle. Every guru will tell you to write articles that link back to your website. So you find a bunch of articles from the Web, edit them and submit them to an article directory. After a week or so, you check your stats. A paltry 30 or 40 views. You wait another few days. The count increases to about 70 views. So few! You decide to write your own articles. "Original content will definitely do better," is what you think. After a week you check your stats. This time, it's about 50 views. What's wrong? You thought article marketing was the panacea to all the ills of traffic generation. You look at the gurus and their articles (which are worse than yours) get thousands of views within a couple of weeks. The thing is the gurus never told you the most crucial part about article marketing. Here it is... Your articles must be keyword-laden, especially long-tail keyword-laden. THAT'S how you get lots of page views. Do you find gurus teaching you that in their coaching courses? Very few do. Here's the final guru tactic. They tell you half-truths. If you've come across claims like, "I made $68,495.57 in my first month in internet marketing...", welcome to the club. Is such a statement true? Yes, it is. Is that all there is to it? Not on your life. The full truth is, "I made $68,495.57 in my first month in internet marketing...but I spent $5,892.97 in advertising, software, a coaching course, reports, recurring expenses etc." Is spending $5,892.97 to earn $68,495.57 good R.O.I.? Of course, but what if you don't have $5,892.97 to spend in one month when you're first starting out? Many gurus' coaching courses contain hidden costs which they don't reveal in their sales letters. Well, unless you've got very deep pockets, you can't keep up with the spending while you wait for your income to increase. These are some of the tactics gurus use to get a response from you. Now that you know what they really
mean, you have the correct perspective of what they are saying. Then you can respond more intelligently to what the gurus offer you.
Creating Press Releases for a Free Boost of Targeted Traffic A press release is an announcement of something newsworthy that is submitted to journalists and other media representatives. By submitting a press release you can instantly create a buzz with your message and receiving a boost of traffic to your site. You could submit a press release about you, your business, a new site, blog or product launched. This could be anything to do with your business. When creating a press release, there is a certain format you have to follow. But before you create your press release, you want to keep in mind of the Five W's: Who, What, When, Where and Why. Your readers want the facts. You don't want to sound even slightly like an advertisement. There's other advertising methods for those - don't include it in your press release! Here is the standard format for a Press Release: 1) FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - place in upper left hand margin and use all capital letters. SKIP TWO LINES 5) Text - this is the main body of your press release in which you will expand on your message here. SKIP TWO LINES 6) Re-cap - here you want to re-state or summarize your message, including any highlights such as product release dates or place your site's url again for good measure. The worst thing that will happen is your site will receive an incoming link from a high ranked site.
Other tips on creating your press release: - should be no longer than once page in length - use short sentences and double space between your lines - proofread it many times to ensure there is no grammar or spelling mistakes (don't look unprofessional) - your headline and lead paragraph should grab your audience's attention Other ideas for creating your press release: - new contest or sweepstakes at your site - an interview with an expert for your topic - new membership or forum - a free product you’re giving away - if your business has received a reward - results of a survey or poll that you hosted - a coaching course or event that you hosting or associated with. Body Language: Be a Good Listener Does your body language say you're a good listener? Sure, you listen when needed (or do you?), but do other people see you as a good listener? Listening skills are essential for good relationships and are also a critical skill in many professions, especially the helping professions. Whether you're maintaining a happy marriage relationship, counseling someone with problems, or coaching members of your team for business success, good listening skills lead others to feel more comfortable. They will have more confidence in you and hold you in higher esteem. Did you know that body language has a major impact on how people see you - even more impact than your words? So, what says 'good listener' and inspires in others who speak to you the confidence that you really are listening? Your body language, of course! Even if you really are listening to every word, you won't be seen as a good listener unless you have the right body language. The body language of a poor listener has many of these traits -leans away or even turns away slightly, arms folded, maybe a bit of impatient toe tapping, and frequently looking elsewhere. Or, if someone starts to read then you know for SURE they're not listening! And of course if your body language suggests you don't want to listen, the other person will feel less comfortable talking with you and will be less likely to confide in you. This is a good recipe for creating distance and miscommunication in a relationship. The body language of a good listener shows five characteristics that can be remembered through the acronym "SOLER". S - Square-on Face the other person square on. If you're turned away, you won't give the impression that you want to listen. O - Open-posture
Folded legs, and particularly folded arms can be subconscious signals that you really don't want to hear what the other person has to say. L - Lean-towards Lean slightly towards the other person. This indicates an interest in what they're saying. Leaning away from a person tends to indicate disinterest. E - Eye-contact Maintain normal eye contact with the other person. If you keep your eyes down, or keep looking away, you can give the impression that you're not a comfortable or willing listener. R - Relax Don't be too formal or stiff. A relaxed posture suggests that you're comfortable in the role of listener, and ready to hear everything the other person has to say. So if you'd like to improve your relationships, on and off the job, start by practicing your listening body language and SOLER!
Are You A Born Leader People are not born with any particular skill. We are all born afraid of falling and of loud noises, but after that everything else is learned. So it is to become a leader. It is easy to follow them because you know where they are going and know they will lead you as well. 3. Leaders work at being leaders. They are always improving their skills and learning from the situations they are in. They study people and have learned how to effectively interact with them to get what they want. 4. Leadership starts at the top, but is best achieved when developing a team atmosphere. Leaders know they can do better when people are working together for one common goal. Sharing in leadership is part of this process. Making everyone accountable for what they do, but judging success on the overall efforts of everyone. 5. Situations call for different types of leadership. A well-rounded leader is able to adapt to their surroundings and lead accordingly. Coaching a football team is an example of this. Sometimes the players need a kick in the rear and other times they need a pat on the back. 6. Leaders are respected for what they have accomplished in the past. A real leader can speak from a position of practical experience and know they will be listened to because they speak from that vantage
point. A respected leader is able to command more from his people than a leader who is not. 7. Leaders seek opinions and compile ideas before forming a game plan. Good leaders know that they cannot come up with every idea that will work. By allowing input they are able to make a more responsible decision. As you can see leaders have skills and they use them to accomplish something every single day. You can become a good leader if you are willing to work and to learn how to become one.
