You Need the Following tools:- Soup Pot with Lid, Cutting Board, Knife, Ladel, Measuring Cup Spoon. Miso Soup is easy and fast to make. There are two main ingredients in the soup which are specifically Japanese and can be purchased in an agent market which is Miso and Dashi. Miso is a Salty Fermented Paste made of Soybeans and Grains such as Rice or Barley. It comes in different flavors depending on the grains and the Length of time that it was fermented. Light Color Miso, Yellow or White has a lighter taste. Darker Misos i.e. Red and Brown have a Stronger and Saltier flavor. The Second Important ingredient is Dashi. Dashi is a soup and cooking stock in Japan. Its made from dried seaweed dried fermented Tuna and water, Luckily we can buy this instant dashi granule to make this instant stalk. Depending on the recipe we can also use the following ingredient, water, Tofu cut into cubes, greens such as spinach and spring onions or pakchoi which are roughly chopped. Directions in Making Miso Soup:1. Boil water in a Pot and reserve half the cup of water to make Miso paste and keep aside. 2. Add Dashi and Greens to the Boiling water (Spinach and Pakchoi works great) but do not add too many greens because Miso Soup is Supposed to have a Brothy consistency and not be stewy, reduce heat to medium after adding all the ingredients and place the lid on the pot for two to three minutes or till the greens are tender. 3. Remove the Pot from the heat and add Miso Paste and Tofu. Blend the miso paste in the half cup of water kept earlier. generally, we use a tablespoon per person. Stir the Miso water in the pot of soup. We can also experiment with the type of miso we like best from light to the richer flavor dark miso. 4. Finally, drop small square-shaped diced cut Tofu and let it sit in the broth as it does not need to get cooked. Serve miso soup immediately and ladle the soup into small bowls and garnish it with finely chopped spring onions.
