Sel Roti Sel Roti is one of the most unique Nepali dishes, a sweet rice bread, distinct from any other piece of bread in the world. Sel-Roti resembles a large thin puffed-up doughnut and has a crispy texture with a reddish-brown color. It is a very popular Dish in Nepal, also in the states of Darjeeling district and Kalimpong district, Sikkim and Other northeastern states of India. it's mostly prepared during Dashain and Tihar, widely celebrated Hindu festivals of the Nepali folks.

What it is made of? Sel roti is made of rice flour with added custom flavors that include rose jail(Gulab jail) and additionally vanilla chocolate. A semiliquid dough is first ready by admixture rice flour, milk, water, vegetable oil, sugar, ghee, butter, cardamom, cloves, bananas and different flavors of private selection. The ingredients are mixed well by continuous stirring. 1. • Rice - 1/2 cup. 2. • ghee - one stick. 3. • Sugar - a pair of tablespoons. 4. • Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon. 5. • Oil - to fry. 6. • Potatoes(cubes) - one cup. 7. • juice - one tablespoon. 8. • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon. 9. • Red chili powder - one teaspoon. 10. • Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon. 11. • Salt - to taste. 12. • Mustard oil - three teaspoons. 13. • Onions(chopped) - one number. 14. • green chilies - two numbers. 15. • Coriander leaves(chopped) - one tablespoon. 16. • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon.

Method: In a mixie jar add soaked rice, ghee, sugar and crush it into a paste.

Then transfer into a bowl add cardamom powder, water and blend it nicely. Rest it for 10-15 minutes. Pour the batter into a piping bag. Pour into the deep fry oil creating a doughnut-like form. Once it involves the surface and is golden brown at rock bottom, flip it over and cook for one minute on the other side. Then transfer into a plate Repeat a similar method for another batter. For the salad, take a bowl to add cooked potatoes, lime juice, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, salt and blend it well. Then add mustard oil, cut onions, green chilies, cut coriander leaves and blend it well. Transfer into a serving bowl. Transfer Sel roti into a serving plate with salad. Now Sel Roti and salad is prepared.
