Two sleepless nights right before the jury, still working on the model needlessly obsessing over that on small balluster detail which the juror might not even see the next day, the only motivation being the 5am chai and the satisfaction of completing that which has been started. I working on architecture projects because they bring me joy, but i do tend to over do it sometimes when I register for compeitions in the middle of the academic semester, with the confidence that i can handle many things at once. Even though this ends up not working, what it does endup doing is helps me push my boundary just a little every time.

Solids Alternating solids provide space to embed activities. All the secondary activities are situated in these blocks.

Connections Solids connected by a series of staircases, hence also providing spaces for voids through the connections. These connecting spaces is where the actual library furnitures are placed.

Voids Voids contain a more organic and free form language to oppose the rigidity of the solids. These spaces are subjected to the users customisation and they may have different character over time.

Interplay of solids and voids Solids are the spaces where the library and secodary activities are placed, the interaction between two activities gives rise to a new space for both to take place simultaneously along with the presence of a library in the connecting volume. The solids spill out onto the voids, hence givinig them opportunity to get a new and unique character depending on the user.

Ponder and read This spot section highlights the interaction between a workshop and a co working space, the merging activity being a display gallery and a library embeded within. Furniture and movement patterns allows for the users to meander around the volume, giving opportunity for accidental exploration.

Work and read This is an interaction between a classroom and a co working space, the users of these spaces require secluded and isolated spaces for work. Hence the library furniture is places in a manner such that it cocoons the users in small compartments just enought for one or two people.

Eat and read Interaction space between a cafe’ and a classroom provides seating spaces between the shelves, in which a few may eat in an isolated enclosure.

Or just read Some connections are between a classroom and an archive storage so this gives places for a very medetative and holistic reading space.

Escapism and self realisation Ez is a person who keeps wanting to improve and move out of her comfort zone frquently. She has constantly changed her profession and interests over the years starting from english literature to stage design and installations. In one of her interviews she says that she is about to go through another change. Hence the concpt from Alice in wonderland, which is a journey of finding oneself and exporing. The following collages explains the key components that has been used throughout the project.

Multiple ways of interpretation

Scales at unexpected places

To embrace change the spaces must be able to accomodate the aactivities that ez plans to do. Hence movable elements enchances or changes the character of spaces immediately

The sudden change in scale helps create ambiance which one might not expect normally. Change in scale can be seen at the most unexpected places.

Controlled Chaos

Interactive elements

Whole world going upside down can create an ambiance for positive change. This concept has been used in materiality and choice of colors in the project.

Walls and entrances can move and change shape either to allow one inside or provide seating space or storage.

Climate change affect on Jakarta Jakarta is home to 100 million people, but it is also one of the fastest sinking cities in the world, estimated to be completeley submerged by the year 2050. Jakarta sits on a swampy land, the Java Sea lapping against it, and 13 rivers running through it. This project looks at how living can be shifted on water with the indonesian context in mind. Each unit would be installed at the sea shore which is accessable to all citizens easily.

Floating mass

Mass distribution

Aerodynamics

Concept development The mass sits on a large hexagonal base which contains the movement machinery and most of the hydraponics chambers. The massing is divided such that equal weight is being distrubuted over the base. The shape of the building allows for more aerodynamic flow. Voids have also been carved out to ensure smooth flow. These voids also act as activation points between different unit typologies.

THE CYCLE OF LEARNING

xplore campus design for media. Site is located ngaluru. The project aims to provide a learning tion such as journalism, visual communication and graphic design.

Education being an endless cycle The process of education can be broken down into 3 disticnt stages, namely curiosity, exploration and learning, and back at curiosity like an endless loop. This process may be applied to any stage or subject, this process stays relevant and persistant. This is the concept for this project, it explores the various ways in which these stages of learning may be interpreted and reflected through architecture

Curiosity

Concept model Education Learning

Exploration

The model explores the reflection of the process of learning thrhough physical architectural elements. each element containing the essence of one of the stages of education. It shows the idea of having 3 distinct courtyards each having its own unique essence and functionality. This is achieved architecturally by arranging certain activities in a specific manner so as to create said essence.

Site location and analysis The site is located in Victoria layout, it is a fairly quiet region during most times of the day. Traffic is relatively less, and the site is surrounded by army cantonment area. Hence most building around site are residential structures or semi-residential structures.

Existing elements The site is surrounded by buildings on west and a small grove of trees at the south. There are also two existing banyan trees within the site.

Massing The built form increases as one passes through the campus, revealing itself in small jolts.

Visual connections The massing arrangement allows for maxinmum visual connecction between classes and different batches. It allows for visual connections from any given point to below or above classrooms.

Landscaping Spillout spaces of varying sizes have been provided outside each classroom so as to encourage outdoor learning.

Relationship between green and brown The realtionship between outside and inside is of differences but tied with common activities, the brown can be seen as a more concrete form of learning, whereas the greens may be seen as much more organic form of learning. The inside and outside can be connected by virtue of louvers and large doors. Outdoor spaces contain the key element of cross learning which facilitates learning ouside the classrooms.

05 WORKING DRAWINGS This section includes projects from working drawings studio in which we explored the detailed workings of the services in a commercal building. It includes HVAC, lighting, false ceilding designs, ventialtion in basements and calculations. The second half contains MMBC works.

MISCELLANEOUS Sketching has always been on my my main passions. I make a point to atleast sketch once a day no matter how basic or small the sketch may be. I usually prefer going directly in with the pen and use a lot of guide lines whilst undertanding the overall geometry

Experimental architecture The above drawings belonged to an AD minor project where the project focused on kinetic moving architecture which cheanged accoring to the users throughout the day.

Comics My passion also includes making comic strips. This here was an attempt made to explain my project through comics.
