PRINT DESIGN INTRODUCTION Print Design is a module where we intended to learn the process of developing patterns based on our inpiration. We used hand skills as well as digital media to come up with concepts and then develop repeats. We were introduced to different types of prints and different arrangements. We obsereved and studied a lot of prints from material wing and then made a Pattern-Book.I made pattern book on Paisley pattern and learnt how vastly the motif is incorporated in patterns and prints on various product categories like Apparel, Upholtery , Home Decor etc.

Media Exploration

Starting with a Warm up Exercise we depicted words like Food, Nightmares etc using different mediums and colours. We were instructed to go as creative as we could. No constraints or brief was given. Further,we were suggested to explore all the different mediums to obtain different effects and textures. I used Water colours,Acrylic Colours, Acrylic 3D outliners, Black Drawing Ink and some other miscellaneous materials to create these textures and effects.

A Day Spent in Indroda Park Indroda Nature Park is spread over an area of about 400 ha in Gandhinagar. The Park is divided into two parts on the banks of river Sabarmati. The western part is known as Indroda Nature Park and the eastern part of the river Sabarmati is known as Wilderness Park. I visited this park after 8 years and found that the place is really inspiring. The beauty of nature captivated me. I was inspired by how the plants and wildlife had naturally grown on the trees that were planned and grown. The places had changed from what my memories were, some regions were developed, some left secluded. I took up this place as my inpiration as I wanted to learn more about this park, I wanted to observe more of how the things had changed and see how the people visiting here enjoy their time.

Revisiting the Forgotten Pathways

As soon as I entered I was delighted by the sight of numerous school buses full of enthusiastic children enjoying to their content. Upon entering I remembered playing with my elder brother on the fresh grass lawns . The way the park has developed ,how the new has grown on old inspired me. Flashbacks run in my mind on observing parents with their kids who had came for picnic Some places where we used to sit and play earlier were now all abandoned and secluded.

Theme

Visiting here after 8 years made me feel very nostalgic. Every place I visited I was thinking about how that place used to be earlier.
