Transportation Options THERE ARE TWO COMPLIMENTARY TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS DOWNTOWN: T he NET – The Norfolk Electric Transit is a free shuttle bus providing stops along a 2.2-mile route throughout the downtown area. NET stops are displayed prominently throughout the city. Monday through Friday from 6:30am until 11:00pm. Weekend service is provided from noon until midnight on Saturdays and noon until 8:00pm on Sundays. F .R.E.D. – Free Ride Every Day! F.R.E.D. is a battery-operated golf cart able to carry up to 5 passengers. It operates Monday – Thursday: 7:30am - 10pm; Friday: 7:30am – Midnight; Saturday: 11am - Midnight.; Sunday: 10am - 7pm. ®
Harborfest® is three days of free entertainment, electrifying fireworks display, and the biggest outdoor dock party in Hampton Roads! Tall Ships are coming to Norfolk, Virginia! Come enjoy this annual outdoor festival at Town Point Park with fireworks, live music and great food. Over 20 ships from countries around the world including Italy, Brazil, Ecuador, Spain and the Netherlands are invited to Norfolk’s waterfront every year for this spectacular event. The weekend festivities include over 130 hours of live entertainment on multiple stages, featuring national, regional and local musical acts, Battleship USS Wisconsin, Tall Ship Tours, fireworks, pirates, DockDogs, Virginia Wine sampling, The Ultimate Build a Boat and more! Stroll down the docks of Town Point Park and visit aboard tall ships, character vessels, and admire the craftsmanship of antique and classic wooden boats. Tall ships are open for visitation during certain times for guests to walk aboard the decks and meet sailors from around the world on Saturday and Sunday.
