SWOT/analysis What is a SWOT anyways? A SWOT is an analysis tool often used in a business setting to look at what an organization is doing and where it’s going in the future. This tool is used to create strategic business, nonprofit, and marketing plans, advertising campaigns, and sometimes skills assessment. SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats: • Strengths: assets or qualities of Dialogue that are helpful to our mission and goals (i.e. quality of worship/service) • Weaknesses: assets or qualities of Dialogue that are not helpful to our mission and goals (i.e. guest retention) • Opportunities: external situations or conditions that are helpful to our mission/Dialogue (i.e. apparent need in Muncie, location of center) • Threats: external situations or conditions that are helpful to our mission/Dialogue (large churches in the area, economy) By utilizing this tool, we can hopefully see Dialogue in a new way, solve some problems, and develop new ways of reaching our community. Instructions In each box, brainstorm some internal and external qualities of Dialogue you feel qualify as a SWOT. They can be very general or specific; there’s no wrong answer!
