Shorthorn cows at Ron’s grandparents 1890’s

Standing the test of time.....

History, it is important for us to understand where we have come from and what was endured to get to our industry where it is today. Could those that have come before us, learning and developing the practice of animal husbandry and stockmanship have ever fathomed what the year 2015 would offer. Think what the reaction would be if you owned a time machine and tele-ported a cattlemen from the turn of the century to modern times and explained the advances in feedstuffs, medications, animal health practices, genetic advancement with AI and ET work? How about the real world use of genetic mapping and gene isolation. The economic advancement benefits from EPD’s and trait specific testing? How about the internet’s use in marketing cattle?

T wo things however we believe should remain constant. First and formost the basics of cattle functionality, skeletal integrity, a proven, predictable pedigree, the proper build and base width and animals that are profitable in terms of feed conversion and growth. Second is conducting business fairly with honesty, integrity and treating folks with dignity. These are the things that STAND THE TEST OF TIME This sale has a unique blend of folks involved from our founder and host, Ron, and our resident elder statesman, Clair, with both wisdom and a golden buckeye card. We also have not one but two Jr. breeders ages 15 and 16...in Ravi and Austin. We hope to see you for our 23 Annual calf sale... come early to see the cattle, stay late and visit... but be sure to have some Ice Cream...
