Wheelchair users have to face numerous barriers on the daily basis during the transport chain, understood as the actions or routes that a person must take to move from one place to another. If a person who uses a wheelchair uses public transport, we will notice that there are numerous barriers during this chain, such as platforms without ramps or too narrow, inaccessible buses or trains, elevators in stations that do not work, etc.
- Only for the driver
- Low cargo space
2 MILLION of people with disabilities are kept from job opportunities because of transportation-related obstacles. About 1 in 5 people in the US have a disability, but zero major vehicle manufacturers make an automobile that is fully accesible.
- Very expensive
- Too much space occupied
$ 23.500 is the aftermarket average cost to Americans with disabilities to modify a vehicle for a wheelchair or scooter.
The vehicle is driven by joystick, thanks to the Drive by wire system, which allows the driver to accelerate, brake and steer the vehicle with just one hand. On each side there is a joystick, so that the driver can use the one he wants according to his needs. The dashboard has physical buttons for all functions, allowing quick and easy use, especially for people with limited hand mobility.
The vehicle s wheels are compactable, in order to reduce the ground clearance of the car when entering and exiting. This reduction in height means that less horizontal space is required to unfold the ramp.
Airless TyreAccess Sequence
Through the key, in addition to the conventional functions, the user can control the elements of the interior space, such as:
- Driver seat
- Copilot seat
- Rails and anchors
Using the key, the vehicle automatically opens the doors, reduces its height and unfolds the ramp.
By rotating the driver’s seat and moving the passenger seat forward, the user can transfer easily.
The user will also be able to establish predetermined positions of the different elements, so that the car configures the space according to their needs with the press of a button.
Once inside the vehicle, the wheelchair must be secured using the variable width anchors. These anchors allow to attach both folding and rigid frame wheelchairs.
Once the user is seated in the vehicle seat and the wheelchair is secured, the user can rotate the seat into the driving position. When the seat has fully rotated, the control panel, which was folded down so as not to interfere with the rotation, will return to its normal position.
The vehicle has a one-size-fits-all rail system, which are used for both vehicle seats and wheelchair anchors. This allows high flexibility when using the interior space, since, if the driver wants to drive from the wheelchair, the seat can be removed and the wheelchair anchors are put in its place, and the same applies in any of the four seats. The rear seats can also be slid, so that the wheelchair does not affect the comfort of those seated in the rear row.

The new Smart Cockpit is a concept cabin designed for the SAME mid-range tractors. This design seeks comfort in daily field work, adding more intuitive controls, with an easy reach from the driving position, as well as digital aids that show more precise information.
In terms of aesthetics, the new Smart Cockpit seeks a harmonious style, which provides the brand with an interior design that distinguishes it, giving it a touch of elegance with aluminum details and making the cockpit a pleasant and comfortable space.
