KISR Urban Greenery Research and Desert Development Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research (KISR) Salmiya, Kuwait / Opens 2018

The Research Park demonstrates the best practice in the field of research and development for the management of green space in the extremely hot and arid climate of Kuwait. The site, at 54,000 m2, is divided into two plots and, in addition to the landscape design by PACE’S landscape architects, I led a gifted team in the design of the park’s nine structures that include the Visitor’s Center (an educational and research facility), observation pavilions, a demonstration greenhouse, and research offices. Rammed earth walls are complemented by parametric canopies and an ETFE greenhouse enclosure. The project will be LEED accredited.* * paraphrased from pace website…thanks Amena!

Safir Fintas Hotel – Ph II Expansion Study Fintas, Kuwait / 2014

This 5-star Hotel, located on the Gulf shore and near Kuwait’s Oil & Gas District, needed to expand guest room offerings and increased demand for wedding venues led to the addition of a large, 3,000m2 Ballroom which would front the main Coast Road. I led a gifted design team, and partnered with our hospitality experts, to develop 3 options for the design of the ballroom. Key to all; seize the opportunity to dramatically transform the Hotel’s brand and image.
