The dragon or kirin is the guardian of the temple gates and also considered one of the symbols of various Karate schools. The piece measures 24"w x 18"h and the fire-breathing dragon is raised on top of the final coat of lacquer and is designed from a thin rubery sheet of pressed lacquer and pigment.
