ABENTEU(R)ER IM FOKUS ADVENTURE(RS) IN FOCUS Im Ötztal entflammte Bernd Ritschels Leidenschaft für die Berge. Als 7-Jähriger kam er mit seinen Eltern zum ersten Mal nach Längenfeld auf Urlaub. Hier absolvierte der heutige Profifotograf erste Hochtouren und Dreitausender-Gipfelsiege. Später folgten exotischere Destinationen. „Mit meinen Kollegen ging ich auf Expeditionen in den Himalaya, die Anden, nach Alaska oder Patagonien“, erzählt der Bayer. Die finanziellen Mittel stammten von Sponsoren. Als Gegenleistung wollten die Unterstützer Fotos bzw. Vorträge. „So musste ich mir zwangsläufig eine Kamera zulegen“, schmunzelt der Familienvater. Statt den erlernten Beruf als Maschinenbauer wählte er mit 25 Jahren die Selbständigkeit. Der Wechsel hat sich gelohnt. Mittlerweile veröffentlichte der Bergfotograf über 35 Bücher und mehr als 200 Kalender. Seine Motive erscheinen in renommierten Titeln wie Geo, National Geographic, Stern und namhaften Alpinmagazinen. Regelmäßige Vorträge und Ausstellungen gehören ebenfalls zu seiner Arbeit. Trotz vieler Reisen weltweit zieht es den 54 Jährigen immer wieder ins Ötztal: „Mich locken die vielen schönen Erinnerungen und die Vertrautheit. Insgesamt habe ich fast drei Jahre im Tal verbracht.“ Und was sind seine Lieblingsplätze? „Am Talboden ist es Längenfeld. In den Bergen zählen das Ramolhaus, der Gepatschferner, die Wildspitze, der Wannenkarsee und der Weiler Brand zu meinen Favoriten“, erklärt Ritschel. All in all, I have spent almost three years in the valley.” And what are his favourite places? “In the valley, my favourite place is Längenfeld. Up high in the mountains, the Ramolhaus, Gepatschferner, Wildspitze, Wannenkarsee and the hamlet of Brand are amongst my very favourites,” explains Ritschel. Bernd Ritschels’ passion for the mountains first ignited in the Ötztal valley. At the age of 7, Bernd went on holiday with his parents for the first time to Längenfeld. Here the future professional photographer completed his first high-altitude tours and celebrated at the peaks of his first three-thousand-metre summits. More exotic destinations were to follow later. “With my colleagues I went on expeditions to the Himalayas, the Andes, to Alaska or Patagonia,” says the Bavarian. The financial means came from sponsors. In return, supporters wanted photos or lectures. “So I inevitably had to buy myself a cam-
