The collection grows

The story of New Works keeps evolving, and we take pride in continuously nourishing our curiosity to seek out new paths, just as excited and encouraged as we were on the first day of spring. As we explore, experiment, listen, and learn, our product lines grow, and new creations sprout.

Lately, we have introduced many significant novelties to the collection, the May outdoor furniture family designed by Hannes & Fritz being one of them. With the addition of the May family, the New Works universe extends out into the open air, providing both furniture and lights for time spent on the patio or balcony, creating a calm and comfortable setting for alfresco dining.

In the name of nature, honouring the poetic interplay between its undulating lines and the steadfastness of design, Shore emerges—an upholstered series comprising a 2- and 3-seater sofa and an inviting armchair created by Joel Fjällström. Soft yet monumental, the series echoes the gentle contour of coastal landscapes, guiding the eye over its sweeping silhouette.

Other lines extend their scope. The boxy walnut tables from the Mass series by Lim + Lu have evolved into new

formats with drawers for more comfortable living. The New Works Cabinets were introduced, and additional functional elements were added to the New Works Shelving System to inspire creative storage solutions for the home office, studio, wardrobe, and hall.

We also continue our ventures into luminaires. Within the grand theatre of the seasons, as autumn turned into winter, the Tense family underwent a subtle alteration, welcoming two new members to the series: Tense Chandelier and Tense Canopy. Even more recently, we introduced the Nebra Series to our design library—a design that, through a sweeping motion, seamlessly weaves classic design with an interactive, transformative mechanism, embodying the delicate dance between tradition and contemporary dynamism.

As the days grow longer, the air becomes softer, and new novelties are waiting to flourish. We hope our coming pieces, like the ones before them, will make their contribution to the creation of your happy places. We hope their poetic nature will make you feel as when the first fresh breeze of spring air greets you: senses awakened, inspired, and at ease.

Brolly is a portable table lamp made in brushed steel which demonstrates the strength of simplistic shapes. Precise and considered, this elegant little light displays the kind of thoughtful, almost deceptive, simplicity that makes it a timeless particular in any decor. Although the design adheres to strict geometry, the lamp attains a finely whimsical presence from the seemingly delicate rod supporting the conical lampshade.

The Karl-Johan lighting series is inspired by excursions into nature. A search for wild mushrooms. The tones of an autumn forest. The soft yet distinct silhouettes of the line’s pendants, wall lamps and table lamps are equally suited to residential and hospitality settings.

As a poetic tale, the Karl-Johan lamp finds its way back to its source of inspiration: nature. Karl-Johan Portable is a small and easily transportable version of the original design, where the soft design language, which characterises the lamp, has been made particularly durable. This makes it possible to take the lamp out into the elements of nature; on the terrace from the first early spring evenings and for a swim on the beach on a warm summer night.

Margin Series

John Astbury

The Margin lighting family is designer John Astbury’s modern interpretation of a classic luminaire. Exploring a tiered typology for lighting, Margin’s intersecting shades gently diffuse the light and instantly set the tone with warmth and tactility. The softness of the fabric is tempered by a clean and graphic silhouette that lends a certain presence and volume to a space.

Balancing bold forms, the Kizu table lamp intrigues the eye with its sculptural composition, and this portable version of the lamp is no exception. Materials and expression are as we know them, but this cordless, smaller size is easy to move around where light is needed. With marble as the bearing element, the lamp obtains natural stability and the polished stone feels comfortable to the touch.

The versatile Lantern series covers every aspect of the contemporary interior, ranging from pendants to floor lamps. Inspired by traditional Japanese rice paper lanterns, the series features simple black steel supports and fixing that allow the soft illumination of the rippled glass globes to shine brightest.

The Material series highlights the power of simplicity in form. Each light in the series can become a standout piece within a room, or be used to complement those around it. From the warmth of oak, to the roughness of concrete the richness of terracotta, and the radiance of steel, the Material series offers a versatile addition to any space.

Stretching to over one metre in length, the Tense Pendant Lamp appears like a soft cloud has floated in. Its soft Tyvek diffuser represents a material both durable and soft – whilst being 100% recyclable. Finished with a slimline LED light source, all components fit into a slim box for ease of transport. A truly modern approach to lighting.

Tense Portable Table Lamp

With advanced technical features and sensuous attributes, designers Panther & Tourron put forward an aesthetic and modern take on a table lamp. The battery-powered light can easily be moved around where light is needed and both colour temperature and brightness can be adjusted to the desired ambiance. Charging is conducted with a magnetic charging cable, which attaches seamlessly to the base and can be left in without disturbing the look of the lamp.

In their Tense series for New Works, designers Panter & Tourron explore aspects of material tension, giving life to airy and flowing shapes. The dreamy cloud-like shade of the Tense Wall Lamp softly diffuses the light and creates a sculptural feel that suits a wide range of architectural settings. When the light is on, the crinkled texture is accentuated in a delicate exchange of light and shadow.

In a formation consisting of three smaller shades, each with a ø55 cm diameter, the Tense Chandelier creates a sophisticated alternative to the classic chandelier. Three screens appear in a united constellation, fusing into a united voluminous yet weightless expression.

A cloud rarely comes alone. Tense Multi Canopy makes it possible to assemble three or five Tense shades, regardless of size, forming a voluminous and contemplative arrangement. The Canopy gathers and conceals the cable outlet, guiding the gaze to linger on the suspended shades and the soft, enchanting light emanating from the constellation. Finding its perfect milieu in expansive spaces such as entrance halls, lofty living rooms, or within the upscale setting of hotel and restaurant interiors, Tense Multi Canopy convey volume and ambience.

Sphere Adventure Light

Sphere is a sculptural luminous object that you can take with you everywhere you go. With its geometric crescent shape this portable light lends an air of mystery to its surroundings, while offering long-lasting utility through clever features. The lamp is water, dust, and impactresistant and features a light dimmer, and a strap for holding or hanging the light. Take Sphere out onto the balcony, patio, or on excursions to the forest, beach, or park. This alluring lamp is ideal for outdoor gatherings that last beyond dusk.

Covent Residential Sofa

The Covent Residential Sofa is a new lounge-worthy version of the classic Covent Sofa, featuring a relaxed extended seat and loose cushions. While keeping to the elegance that the series is known for, the Covent Residential Sofa offers a homely comfort. The firm curved exterior and gently defined armrests retain the distinct precision synonymous with the Covent line and allow the sofa to stand out as a clear and strong volume in the room. Meanwhile, the spacious seat and four generous cushions invite you to sink into softness and warmth.

The existing Covent Chair and Covent Lounge Chair fuse their best assets in the Covent Club Chair. This new family member offers great sitting comfort while maintaining a visual lightness and an upright seating position suitable for dining. Extended upholstered surfaces and empty spaces create a silhouette defined by both softness and precision.

This younger sibling to the Covent Lounge Chair has a slimmer frame to accommodate smaller spaces or the need to fit in multiple seats in a lounge environment. The Covent Lounge Chair Narrow bears the same timeless expression as its predecessor, but in a neatly smaller format. Expert craftsmanship and gentle curves are the main features of this inviting furniture series designed by Arde.

Shore Series

The Missing Chair appears as if a simple line drawing has sprung into life. Sensual yet strong, the soft curve of each line creates a whimsy that is hard to describe. Straight lines have been softened, allowing the timber seat and back to appear as if floating above the thin steel frame. What remains are the bare essentials in our own interpretation of the humble cafe chair: light, stackable and durable, completed by a highly comfortable silhouette.

The May series takes the New Works universe alfresco with outdoor furniture for the garden, patio, or balcony. The understated, monochromatic appearance of the May family is detailed without being technical. As the light steel sheet tightly wraps itself around the chunky steel frame, it forms a strong and comfortable seat, slightly curved so that it gently hugs the body. A slit through the seat allows for water drainage and adds a subtle detail to the otherwise uniform surface. Mirrored in the tables, it creates a repetition of lines that brings lightness, direction, and unity to the family.

The Pleat Pitcher adds to our growing collection of table top items that mix everyday functionality with a sculptural touch. Alongside Ripple and Aura, a polished stainless steel silhouette allows it to reflect its surroundings whilst maintaining a unique presence. With one simple pull on the cylindrical exterior, a perfect spout is formed. Whilst creating a highly functional piece, this action accentuates both the strength and simplicity of the Pleat Pitcher.

The Rise & Shine Wall Mirror utilises bold forms with an asymmetrical composition to create an unfolding feature within any space. A softening oak centre point allows the mirror and brass components to push and pull against each other, providing an ever-changing point of reflection. Whether employed for different functions, or simply to create an intriguing interior sculpture, Rise & Shine provides a centrepiece full of balance and movement.

A STUDY is a passionate exploration of material and form, undertaken by the New Works design team with the help of selected collaborators. An artistic approach gives rise to objects of unexpected beauty in a collection that grows organically over time.

The Blæhr Vase tests the boundaries of mouth blown glass with a timber moulded form that grows with each edition. An organic object that pushes and pulls the hot glass to take a unique and irregular form. Reflections hit the undulating exterior of the vase to create a centrepiece with depth and character.
