Welcome to the Greater Deerfield Beach Chamber of Commerce where our vision is to influence economic growth in our community. Our mission is to lead economic development by supporting the growth of our area businesses, help attract and establish new businesses, as well as foster a healthy and inclusive business environment. We accomplish this mission by working with the City to bring new business and development to the area and by offering a comprehensive and professional service to tourists at our Visitor Information Center. We appreciate your support of the Chamber of Commerce and strive to improve our members’ businesses through a complimentary listing in this printed Directory, the Membership Directory on the Chamber website and we utilize Facebook and the Chamber app on BizHappy to market to our members. The Chamber has launched a “Member Advantage Program” (MAP), offering chamber members a discount at participating Chamber Businesses. All Chamber members and employees receive an identification card that entitles them to receive the MAP discount. Participating businesses are provided a decal identifying their company as a “Member Advantage Program” participant and they are listed on the Chamber’s online Member Advantage Program page. The Chamber also offers a Wellness Card to members and their employees that provides access to discounts on prescription drugs, doctor, dental and vision visits and many other services and products to help lower the cost of doing business. We currently have “N’ Deerfield” events throughout the year, PigOut N’ Deerfield, Dining N’ Deerfield, Gala N’ Deerfield, Golf N’ Deerfield, monthly Breakfast N’ Deerfield and After Hours N’ Deerfield events plus we are planning other exciting events to help educate our members in areas that will improve their businesses.

Together with the residents we exemplify what a wonderful community Deerfield Beach is to work, play and live in. We’re blessed with a beautiful beach, the Hillsboro River and our unique fishing pier will soon be remodeled for everyone’s enjoyment. Education Broward County Public Schools is the sixth-largest public school and the largest, fully-accredited public school district in the nation. The district serves the educational needs of a unique urban/ suburban mix of more than 255,000 K-12 students from a diverse multicultural/multi-ethnic population of 166 countries speaking 50 languages. It has more than 120,000 adult students in adult and community education, over 40,000 exceptional students education, children made up of over 30,000 with special needs and 10,000 gifted students and approximately 23,000 school-age children in after-school child care programs.

Public School Registration

A child must be five years of age on or before September 1st to enter Kindergarten and six years of age on or before September 1st to enter first grade. Students attending a school for the first time will need to bring the following documents to the assigned schools when registering. • Two documents showing proof of residence, such as an electric bill and a current Florida driver’s license/Florida identification card • A Certificate of Immunization (HRS form 680) which is available from a private physician or the Broward County Health Department • Proof of medical examination during the last 12 months • Kindergarten and first grade students must also present a birth certificate to show proof of age The school system is governed by a nine (9) member elected board: Seven (7) members from geographic districts and two (2) members at large, who appoint a school superintendent to administer the day-to-day operations. The success of any community lies in its schools and the education they provide. Deerfield Beach is a city working together with the administrators, teachers, parents and community leaders to offer the very best possible education opportunity for its students.
