From their first trimester onward, DigiPen (Singapore) students tackle complex academic subjects related to their field of study. For computer science and engineering majors, this includes advanced math, physics, and computer science. Art majors build a strong foundation in traditional drawing, 3D sculpting and modelling, as well as hand-drawn and computer animation.

COLLABORATION WITH SIT
DigiPen (Singapore) partners with Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) to offer two DigiPen (Singapore) degree programs and three SIT-DigiPen (Singapore) joint degree programs under the Engineering and Infocomm Technology clusters.
Under the terms of this partnership, qualified Singaporeans, permanent residents, or international students may receive certain credit transfers, and their tuition fees will be subsidized by the Ministry of Education.

OVERSEAS IMMERSION PROGRAMME (OIP)
DigiPen Institute of Technology’s Redmond campus hosts students from DigiPen Institute of Technology Singapore for 12 weeks through the Overseas Immersion Programme (OIP).
Students will have a chance to study abroad and take courses in the Redmond campus toward fulfilling their degrees. OIP is compulsory for all SIT and DigiPen (Singapore) students and takes place during the second year of study.
INTEGRATED WORK STUDY PROGRAMME (IWSP)
Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP) is a distinctive feature of SIT’s degree programs. IWSP will provide students with the opportunity to gain valuable experience, allowing them to integrate theory and practice in a professional work setting. In doing so, students develop deep specialist skills in their chosen field.
IWSP is structured in a unique and distinct way for each degree program to cater to the specific needs of the industry, thus developing industry-ready graduates.
IWSP is compulsory for all students in the SIT-DigiPen (Singapore) joint degree programs. Students will undertake 12 months of relevant work within the course of their studies.
COMPUTER SCIENCE IN REAL-TIME INTERACTIVE SIMULATION
The BS in Computer Science in Real-Time Interactive Simulation degree program is jointly offered by DigiPen (Singapore) and SIT. This program aims to produce graduates who are exceptionally competent in the fields of digital media, software development, real-time simulations, and game development.
Students will possess an in-depth understanding of mathematics, physics, and computer science theory. This will empower them to solve real-world problems in software engineering through the design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software solutions. Additionally, students will pick up soft skills in team building and communication.
Graduates will not only excel as engineers in a team-based environment, but will also be aware of larger, societal impacts of their work. They will strive to be ethical practitioners in their chosen field.

COMPUTER SCIENCE IN INTERACTIVE MEDIA AND GAME DEVELOPMENT
The BS in Computer Science in Interactive Media and Game Development degree program is jointly offered by DigiPen (Singapore) and SIT. The field of interactive media and game development has grown from using small teams of just a handful of developers for an entire production to using large teams of 100 or more on a single title.
This industry has also seen a growing demand for the hybrid engineer/designer: someone who has strong computer science and mathematics skills, combined with formal training in game development. This type of developer is the bridge between the scientific and creative sides of interactive digital media and game development.
Students are able to work as an engineer or designer as needed and can work across platforms such as PC, tablets, smart phones, game consoles, virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR). They will be trained to write computer programs in core languages such as C and C++, giving them the technical foundation to become proficient in programming with scripting languages, game logic, user interfaces, artificial intelligence, and design tools.

MECHATRONICS SYSTEMS
The BEng in Mechatronics Systems is created and offered by DigiPen (Singapore) and SIT. It is a multidisciplinary degree that brings together the fields of mechanical, electronic, electrical, and computer engineering with a holistic approach to product development.
Mechatronics systems engineering focuses on the design, development, implementation, and life-cycle management of complex interacting systems. At the same time, it incorporates the constraints and limitations of given requirements, reliability, and risk management. This program focuses on the engineering of complex mechanical systems that are controlled by microprocessors and microcontrollers.
The curriculum has a substantial theoretical foundation of math, physics, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and systems engineering. The blend of creativity and technical knowledge gained while completing projects gives students the versatility to adapt to a changing technical environment.

USER EXPERIENCE AND GAME DESIGN
The field of interactive design has moved from an era where designers were self-taught and learned on the job, to one where even entry-level designers are expected to have proven design skills, knowledge of technology, information processing, and psychology.
Interactive designers must continually place themselves in the minds of their users and players. They shape every action and response, carefully teaching users what they need to know while skillfully blending the interactive, spatial, narrative, visual, and aural aspects of an experience. Students will learn the behavior and psychology behind the design application in games, software development, user experience, and VR and AR.
This degree program prepares students to be interactive designers who are able to create any kind of interactive experience. Throughout the program, students spend a significant amount of time conducting extensive research, evaluation, and user-based testing, creating wireframe documents to visualize ideas, and finally rapidly prototyping and iterating to bring these designs to life. They may even be required to work on physical installations at times. They are capable of working in large teams, communicating and collaborating with other designers, artists, and engineers.

BFA IN DIGITAL ART AND ANIMATION – Art Portfolio
Applicants to the BFA in Digital Art and Animation program are required to submit an art portfolio that showcases the applicant’s best and most recent work. This portfolio must contain between 10-15 samples of artwork created by the applicant.
THE PORTFOLIO SHOULD INCLUDE: Prescribed Drawings from Direct Observation
Using graphite pencil or charcoal and on quality art paper, the applicant should draw the following four Prescribed Drawings from real life (not from images or photographs):
• Pair of shoes
• Same pair of shoes as above but from a different perspective (e.g. shoes drawn from the back) or a different orientation (e.g. shoes turned upside down)
• Interior space, such as a kitchen or bedroom
• Self portrait
On the corner of the page for each of these drawings, please write the date created and length of time spent on the drawing. The primary objective of these four Prescribed Drawings is for the applicant to demonstrate foundational drawing skills. The applicant should focus on drawing realistically and accurately, and should NOT apply any artistic style (e.g. cartooning) to these four Prescribed Drawings.
Miscellaneous Art Samples
The remaining 6-11 pieces should demonstrate an applicant’s current range, skill, and process. These personal works may include animations, figure/animal studies, color studies, original character designs, architectural renderings, landscape studies, sculptures, and paintings. The submitted work should not contain illustrations copied directly from manga, animé, animations, paintings, or photographs (cited master copies are acceptable).

Applicants who planned to take the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) are encouraged to complete the GRE General Test and arrange for those scores to be sent directly to DigiPen Institute of Technology Singapore by the testing agency. Students applying to the MS in Computer Vision program should note that the preferred combined GRE verbal and math scores should be in the 70th percentile or better.
In special cases of highly qualified applicants, we will consider those who do not meet this minimum acceptable score but have other overriding strengths in the areas of specialization relevant to this program.

This requirement can be waived if the applicant has proof of completing at least four years of his or her most recent education at an institution in which English is the primary language of instruction. Non-native English speakers must provide proof of English proficiency in one of the following ways:
• A minimum Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 550 (paper exam), 213 (computer exam) or 80 (iBT — Internet-based Test). TOEFL code: 1493
• A minimum International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.5 or higher. (www.ielts.org)
• A minimum Cambridge English: Advanced (also known as a Certificate in Advanced English or CAE) score of C1 or higher.
• Completion of a bachelor’s degree at an English-speaking institution.

TECHNOLOGY IN FINANCE IMMERSION PROGRAMME*
The Technology in Finance Immersion Programme (TFIP)* aims to help individuals gain experience in key technology areas, such as agile IT project management, artificial intelligence, business analysis, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, software engineering and technology, information and cybersecurity within the financial services sector.
The program is managed by the Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF), with the support of Workforce Singapore (WSG), Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and participating financial institutions.
Trainees will acquire the necessary skills through structured training with industry-recognized training providers and an attachment with a leading financial institution.
DigiPen (Singapore) is the training provider for the data analytics and software engineering technology areas. TFIP trainees will be equipped with strong foundations and robust backgrounds in their specializations that will serve them well in the financial institutions.

• On-the-job training
PREREQUISITES
Individuals who are passionate about pursuing a career in artificial intelligence, data analytics, or full-stack development and who fulfil the following prerequisites may apply:
• Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents
• Minimum 21 years old
• Graduated or completed National Service (whichever is later and where relevant) for at least 2 years at the point of application
• Possess a tertiary qualification (diploma/degree)
• No prior work experience in any of the following technology areas: agile IT project management, artificial intelligence, business analysis, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, software engineering and technology, information and cybersecurity risk
• No outstanding sponsorship obligations
• Must not be a shareholder* of the hosting financial institution, or its related companies
• Must not be related to the owner(s)** of the hosting financial institution
• Must not be immediate ex-staff of the hosting financial institution or related entities
*Does not apply to publicly traded shares in listed companies
**For non-publicly listed companies, refers to individuals with shareholding per ACRA profile
