IF YOU ARE A BEGINNER, HERE IS YOUR GUIDE FOR NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY
he world is a wonderland, and the beauty of nature is known to one and all. Some T live every element of it and store its beauty in their eyes, while photographers give it a new perspective through their creativity and lens. While daytime photography has been popular for ages now, night photography has started to make its way to the top. Photographers have started experimenting with night photography tips and clearly understand how an ordinary view can turn out to be magical at night. Since it is quite challenging and requires a lot of precision at photographer’s end, it can get overwhelming for those who are just getting started. The best way to get sorted at the initial stage and take one step at a time, being a beginner you should join photography workshops and learn under a professional’s guidance.
The genre is very interesting but at the same time a lot technical and challenging too. The photographer has to capture subjects in low light with the right camera setting customisation which can get a little tricky. What all can help you is getting a good DSLR or mirrorless camera like Panasonic Lumix, learning the right techniques and photography tips and tricks, and getting your hands on tools that can help you with night photography. There are many workshops and classes that you can start with, but to help you with a few handy night photography tips, we have curated a list:
MANUAL FOCUS
Wondering why you have to click photos at night in manual mode? It’s because you cannot easily shoot photos at night using the auto mode. At night, you need to customise the ISO, aperture, and shutter speed based on the lighting requirement. You can digitally zoom in the camera so that it focuses correctly and fine-tunes the manual focus. Credits: @oceanandearthphotography
USE BULB MODE
Who says night photography can limit your creativity? Use the bulb mode, and you are ready to be as creative as you want. It allows you to keep the shutter open for as long as you hold it down. With this mode, you can easily click light painting images or light trails around the subject. If you want to experiment with nature photography tips by clicking beautiful landscape pictures, you would need to set the right ISO and aperture under the bulb mode. There are many online tutorials that can guide you on this. Credits: @sivajith_sivamony

If you are a beginner, you are likely to make some mistakes as it takes some time to master night photography. Shooting JPEGs will allow you to save more images on your SD card, but when it is about clicking pictures at night, RAW format should be used. It will produce non compressed images that will allow you to see a wide dynamic range in your pictures. Put some nature photography tips to use, and in RAW format try clicking pictures of a wide field. You will be amazed to see the final output.
USE A TRIPOD Night photography is so much about those long exposures and bulb mode, and that is when you really need a tripod. Place your camera on a tripod when you are clicking pictures using shutter speed of minutes. It will make it easier for you to shoot sharp pictures. Feel free to join photography workshops to master the skill before you head out for your first night shoot adventure. Credits: @vivekverma0909
