THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Last Sunday I received the following in an email from a friend of mine in Dubai. Although it is written in email shorthand the meaning is clear enough and I think it deserves our attention and our prayers: At Jebel Ali church, there was a lot of emotion about recent attacks on Christians in India. Of course there are many in the congregation and some of the priests too. It turned out that one of priests now in Dubai, his previous Indian parish had been set alight and people seriously hurt. He had called the Bishops House to confirm this and

they are all in a state of shock. We moan about having to drive and these people are in fear of their lives. They have got a petition up for the Indian government to do something - hope it does some good. Fr. Terence MRS JANE CURLEY Please keep Jane in your prayer as she passed away on Friday afternoon. Her body will be received into St Mary’s church on Wednesday 1st October at 12.45pm, after 12.15pm Mass. She will remain in the church overnight. Her Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday 2nd October at 11am. CHILDREN’S LITURGY
