The Christ of Rio de Janeiro Commonly known as Christ the Redeemer, this amazing statue of Jesus Christ is located in the Brazilian capital of Rio de Janeiro. Given its height of 98 foot, it was a huge task for the builders to execute this project. The redeemer was originally a brainchild of French artist, Paul Adowski. Heitor da Silva Costa, a Brazilian engineer and Abert Caquot, a French engineer were responsible for the realization of this legendary statue. Made out of soapstone and concrete, Christ the redeemer has been standing still for 87 years. Hopefully, it will complete its century in 2031.

Art lovers cannot ignore the importance of this particular master class. After all, there are not many instances when faces of few great men were carved out of mountains. This massive artwork features the faces of former US presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. After a long work of 14 years,

The Poet by Rodin This statue of a nude man sitting and thinking deeply was originally named ‘The Poet’, by French sculptor Auguste Rodin. However, later this same artwork came to be known as ‘The Thinker’. It was built in the year 1881 and is made of Bronze. With a height of about 1.9m, the Thinker is indeed a master class. We felt sorry to know that terrorists tried to destroy this artwork, when they installed dynamites around the statue and executed an explosion. Fortunately, the statue withstood the pressure of bad times and is safely preserved in Musee Rodin in Paris.
