DE CASTRO Reclaim to wear started from a pioneer eco brand, “From Somewhere” in 1997. It was founded by Orsola De Castro and her spouse, Filippo Ricci. “From Somewhere” 100 % upcycling collection was a global hit, featuring in several exhibitions and the press. Orsola receieved many awards for her sustainable acts, for instance, “2014 Fashion Revolution Day winner Freedom Barcelona Award for sustainability”. Orsola has been very active in ensuring sustainability in the fashion industry, co-founding events like Fashion Revolution day and also inspiring others by being an associate lecturer at the University of the Arts of London.

Reclaim to wear (RTW) is set up as a way of using up all the beautiful fabrics left over from designer collections. With all the uprising environmental problems and issues we are facing, the fashion industry is looking for design solutions for the future. Sometimes, to be really innovative,you have to take the best from the past and bring it to the future. 03

Reclaim to wear brings together designers, retailers and the industry to create zero waste upcycled collections that embody a strong environmental commitment through design innovation. Upcycling is all about taking old fabrics and making into beautiful pieces. RTW also collaborates with Speedo and Central Saint Martins and also held exhibitions in Hong Kong, 2013. RTW has also appeared on the press, making a global impact with their collections. Celebrities like Pixie Geldof is seen donning some of the collection pieces.

Mismatch LAUNCHED IN 2012
ONE
The first collecction uses the surplus stock of cotton, jersey and denim comprising of pretty tiered blouse in mixed fabrics, a striking stripe and colour block panel maxi dress whilst the perfect grey marl sweater is updated with mis-matching sleeves. A range of denim pieces including ombre boy shorts and a slouchy denim rucksack are perfect for festival dressing.

Localism LAUNCHED IN 2013
The second collection now focused on “Localism�. The inspiration behind the collection was to turn away from disposable fashion, giving a new lease of life to disregarded prints from previous seasons. The collection consists of summer must haves, such as florals, light weight materials and shorts. Clothinga come in matching sets, so you can have it versatile whichever style you like it.

New Edge LAUNCHED IN 2014
The collection had a mixture of denim and softs and you can pick out whichever style you like. A mixture of girly and grungey looks for you to choose from. This collection was produced in Turkey and India testing the reclaim blueprint in new geographies and on new fabric bases.

COLLECTION 4 Launching on 22.04.15
In commemoration of Earth Day, the fourth collection is soon launching this year. This collection is called “Integrate”. “Integrate” is all about mix and matching different textures of clothing together. Different parts of clothing are combined into one to create a one of a kind piece. Clothings are also light-weight to wear it out during those scorching days in Singapore.
