SKILLS Drawing and modelling Autocad

I define myself as a young and passionate architect engaged to a global society. Being an architect, I believe its a duty to improve the lives of people and the power of Architecture as a medium of change in society.

Sketch up Revit Rhinoceros Grasshopper

I procure to include user and inhabitant opinions during design process, as well as cultural and contextual factors.

Rendering and Presentation

I support sustainable architecture over spectacular architecture, but value the role of innovation and exploration. For me, its all about creating and sustaining living over developing stature.

The Gem & Jewellery sector is truly India’s sparkling gem that contributes about 7.0 per cent to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), employs over 4.64 million people. The gem & jewellery sector has the potential for India to fuel the Atma Nirbhar Mission while making India for the world. The sector is globally recognised for the craftsmanship and variety that it offers. Unfortunately, this shining gem of India has been slowly losing its sheen and has been unable to harness its full potential. The sector faces several challenges such as lack of industry status, inadequate talent retention programmes, unorganized nature of market, access to finance, lack of transparency among others, that need to be addressed. The sector in India is concentrated in small clusters and therefore restricted to have more business oppourtunities, modern techniques and machaneries. An Architecture intervention can be one of a solution to address these issues and to bridge the gap between the existing conditions and its true potential. The Thesis Project, Gems and Jewellery Park, is intented for the same to provide the solution for these issures of the most sparkling industry in India and Globally as well. Chhattisgarh boasts of being India’s richest region in terms of its mineral wealth with 28 varieties of major minerals (including diamonds) and it has potential to emerge as the region’s diamond bowl. Construction of gems and jewelry park will make Chhattisgarh the hub of goldsmiths, refineries, cutting and polishing, also employment opportunities will be generated for local people. Gems and Jewellery Park is an integrated industrial park with all facilities under one roof. The proposed Special Economic Zone will have ‘front-end’ components for sales and marketing and ‘back-end’ components for manufacturing units. The front-end components would include identification, grading and certification of diamonds, a world-class gem and jewellery training institute, a gem-testing lab, an assaying and hallmarking centre as well as government offices to facilitate trade. The Park will have manufacturing units, commercial areas, residences for industrial workers, and commercial support services.

Typical : Isolated Offices and manufacturing units with redultant Shared resources

Idea of Branching

Branching arrangement helps in interlink various spaces and gives better connectivity and at the same time a pattern of solid voids is created. The voids are treated as courts helping building to breathe

Proposed : Networked Offices and Units With Consolidated Shared spaces

Idea of Recreational Spine

Spine as an interconnection as well as space for recreational activities helping in creating integrated complex. Also adding informal character to the formal complex . This spines will have various breakout spaces and recreational spaces

The green belt is developed on the edge of the main road creating a buffer between road and the site. The Manufacturing units are places away from the main excess separating public and semi public areas. Also these manufacturing units are kept near to the housing for easy excess to the Karigars

02| House of Knowledge CN Vidhyalya, Ahmedabad Sem 5|Institution

The studio based on Institution design focused on developing various key concepts, techniques, and thought process at an Institutional scale. House of Knowledge is an idea of accomodating various approaches involved in gaining and sharing knowledge. The program includes exhibition spaces, reading areas, gathering spaces, cafeteria etc. The site, in CN campus, Ambawadi, Ahmedabad, has a wide range of greenery and a calm atmosphere. The site had a huge potential and challenges providing a base for the exploration and understanding of the House of Knowledge as an Institution. The concept developed by understanding the key features of the site i.e. the trees and the nature around it. The project conceptualised around the existing trees present in the site, as a way to keep nature connected to the built form.

04| Community Living Old City, Banaras, Uttar Pradesh Sem 4|Housing

Housing should respond to the needs of individuals, so that they have a dwelling which makes them part of a community. Housing is a whole in itself and it is also a part of the larger whole of the city. It is about the sharing of resources and support systems that a city offers. The studio exercise was to design dwelling units- about 60 dwelling units of a community. The focus of the studio was to address the contextual and cultural dimension of space. Selected site is situated in the rich fabric of Varanasi. Mixed demographics of 60 families as identified are current residents of Banaras These families are to be housed in three types of units. Common community space is also an integral part of the housing design. The context of the place is driven by their culture, and so it has unorganised character of living which makes it unique on its own. The design of housing focouses on this exiting and incomplete nature of the sorrounding. It conceptualises in recreating the character by the use of terraces and various levels. Also the same character is followed in facade design.
