Parish News… …is a not-for-profit publication, providing an important and well-regarded information source for residents within the four parishes of Great & Little Maplestead, Pebmarsh and Gestingthorpe. It is staffed and run entirely by volunteers and relies solely on funding from advertisers and the occasional sponsored content to bring topical news, information about social events, relevant features and important local community matters to a wide and diverse rural audience New for 2024, this A5 format magazine is being published in colour, giving it greater impact and visual appeal, making it more attractive both to advertisers and its readership. Issued 10 times a year (July/August & December/January being double issues) the magazine’s page count can, depending on demand for content, vary between 36 and 48. Printed versions are distributed free to every household across the four parishes and are publicly available for visitors to read or pick up in each church, local pubs, restaurants and shops. Circulation is around 800 copies, with a readership estimated to be over 2000 people. In order to maximise the magazine’s effective audience, and appeal to and reach a younger demographic, an online version will now be available to access on social media – via its own Parish News Facebook page – and current and back-issues can be read or downloaded from a dedicated page on each Parish Council’s website. --ooOoo--
Sponsorship/Advertising/Announcements/Advertorial Content Parish News offers a number of attractive advertising options, designed to suit a range of budgets, which will help get your message across to its readership – a proven, receptive and responsive audience for local businesses promoting relevant products or individuals and community groups drawing attention to local social events and activities. Sponsorship This is available to businesses on a yearly contract (February to January) for just £1900. As a Parish News sponsor you will get premium back-cover colour advertising for all 10 issues, two 350-word advertorial articles about your business and your logo featured prominently for 12 months on the magazine’s social media page, the dedicated page on all four parish websites and at the magazine display locations in each church.
Display Advertising/Announcements These can be either in ¼-page portrait, ½-page landscape (horizontal) or full page portrait formats, as shown below:
Business Advertisements Our business and commercial services advertising rates offer options to suit both your budget and particular promotional requirements: o an annual fee, which will cover a display advertisement in ten copies of Parish News for a full year or: o a pro-rata proportion of the annual fee, should you come in partway through a year in which you wish to advertise, or: o a one-off fee if the advertisement is for a specifically time-sensitive purpose and only needs to be in a single issue, or: o a one-off introductory fee on application for new business starters; this will revert to the annual or pro-rata rate after two insertions unless otherwise notified. You can provide display advertisements, fully-finished, in pro and print ready, in either jpeg or pdf format. There will be a small extra charge if you wish to make a change to your advert during the year. If you require an advertisement to be designed for you, there will be a charge for this service: £100 for a ¼ page, £175 for a ½ page or £250 for a full page version, conditional on you supplying all images and logos in an appropriate format plus an outline of your required content. You will take responsibility for proof reading the completed advert – once you have signed it off it will be printed as approved.
Village/Community Event Advertisements/Announcements Fundraising village events will be charged a single insertion fee for either a ½-page or full-page display advert/announcement, published on request in the issue due the month prior to the event, as long as you provide fullyfinished, in pro and print ready artwork/copy, either in jpeg or pdf form, before the magazine copy deadline in question. Personal Advertisements Classified personal advertisements for residents of any of the four parishes will be charged for at 25p per-word. Non-residents’ classified personal advertisements will be charged at the same rate but will only be accepted if space permits. Personal advertisements will not be repeated monthly, unless a specific request is made to the Editor before the relevant deadline.
Advertorials Advertorials (sponsored editorial content) will be accepted, on a month-bymonth basis, if supplied as a single page of 350 words plus images: the monthly charge will be £75.
Flyers/Leaflets These can be inserted in all parish magazines, at the Editor’s discretion: o to assist any parish residents setting up a new business. o where a failure to include a one-off advertisement or announcement in the normal way lies with the Editor. o to allow local groups/Parish Councils to distribute specific or topical information about matters of local interest or concern. Flyers/Leaflets for insertion should be supplied pre-printed in either A5 singlesheet or A4 folded 4-page leaflet form – a small donation to Parish News will be requested to cover insertion in all magazines. For flyers specific to just one Parish, please arrange insertion with the local distributor – details on request.
