Exciting and Limited New Perth Mint Releases
Celebrating 200 Years Service of Australia Post
Brilliant New ‘Great Composers’ Series First Release Felix Mendelssohn 2009 $1 Silver Proof - Only 5,000 Minted!
2009 $1 Aluminium Bronze Australia Post Bicentenary Coin and 55c Stamp PNC New 200 Years of Postal Service Release
Music genius Felix Mendelssohn is the first composer to be featured in this superb five-coin Composer Series celebrating Romantic-era musicians. This beautiful proof coin is dedicated to Mendelssohn’s brilliant but tragically short career, during which he created many masterpieces including the Wedding March. Issued as legal tender in Tuvala, the coin includes a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
This eye-catching PNC Stamp & Coin features an early posting box. Like red sentinels, posting boxes have stood guard on the streets of Australian cities and towns for more than 150 years. In 1856 the first cast iron street posting boxes were installed in Sydney. Prior to this, the public handed their letters in at the post office or to a postman on his delivery rounds.
A rare opportunity for music lovers and passionate coin collectors.
A highly collectable and arresting tribute to Australia’s early postal days.

2009 200 Years of Postal Service $1 Silver Proof Identifying our Origin of Post - Only 7,500 Minted!
A fierce battle raged until William’s soldiers broke through English lines. During the battle, Harold was struck a fatal blow in the eye by a Norman arrow, a scene depicted on the 11th century Bayeaux Tapestry and on this newly released proof coin struck from 1oz of pure silver.
This spectacular commemorative coin celebrates the beginning of postal services in Australia with the historic appointment of Isaac Nichols as first Postmaster of New South Wales in 1809. It includes a coloured representation of Nichols, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark and inscription 200 YEARS OF POSTAL SERVICE IN AUST. Nichols, a former convict who impressed authorities with his diligence, introduced secure, orderly mail distribution. He collected mail from vessels in Sydney Cove, advertising the names of recipients who could collect it from his home - Australia’s first post office.
Be one of the fortunate few to secure this superbly presented coin.

2009 200 Years of Postal Service Uncirculated Coin and Stamp Cover - A Fitting Tribute to Postal Service
Every four years, billions of soccer players and fans are enthralled by one of the world’s greatest sporting events, the FIFA World Cup. With Australia’s own Socceroos qualifying for South Africa in 2010, demand for memorabilia is expected to be high. To satisfy demand, The Perth Mint was authorised to strike Australia’s official contribution to the 2010 FIFA World Cup commemorative coin program. Unmistakably Australian, this fine silver proof design references our iconic symbol, the kangaroo.
The glorious Stamp and Coin Cover celebrates the appointment of Australia’s first postmaster Isaac Nichols, in New South Wales in 1809.
