10 ways to save the planet
Plant a tree:Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the air and use it as a resource of energy,releasing oxygen which is very important for us. A single tree absorbs 4,5 kilos of carbon dioxide every year.
Plants indoors:according to researches, the plants absorb through roots and leaves polluted air and return it clean.Some plants can clean up to 87% of air pollutants of a room.
Save water.Do not waste it. A four members family spends 3ooo liters of water a week, as much as a single person needs in three years life time.
No more carbon
Last summer’s fires will never be forgotten.Thus, we need to be more alerted during summer time..
Change the lamps. Replace the old bulbs with new ones that save 4 or 5 times more energy and last from 8 to 15 times more.
Careful with the computer: A computer working 5 hours every day discharges 250 kilos of greenhouse gases in a year. A LAPTOP CAN SAVE 90%.
Less rubbish: 3000000 tones of rubbish are produced in Greece every year, without taking into account the hospital and industrial waste.
From this amount only the 8% is recycled.
Recycle: Recycling paper, glass and metals reduces 1870 kilos of carbon dioxide in a year.
Electronic rubbish: Don’t dispose your electronic and electric rubbish in common bins because they contain dangerous substances. Recycle them.
Plastics bags or Life? It takes a second to be made, it is used only for 10 minutes, it takes 50 years to be dissolved.
