Traditional is a “strong” month for weddings but not only for that. In politics we have the German elections and all the upcoming announcements of the government. Back to “us”, is a month we also regroup and have many activities running.

1. How did you characterize your style? Creative conceptual photography. 2 . What do you think about the future in photography? Photography came along long before we had the equipment. I think photography is stronger and better than ever before. 3. What is the difference on wedding and fashion ? In wedding photography you need to stay focused if you want to catch the perfect moments. For fashion photography, you don’t have the same stress I think. BUt you will have to be extra careful to the smallest details and always please the editors. I wouln’t describe myself as a fashion photographer, i’m more like a fairytales writer with my camera. 4. Do you shoot weddings ? No. But somethimes I do some “trash the dress” shootings. I know it’s hard work and a big responsability. 5. Name us some great photographers who inspired you Wedding and no wedding I am not so familiarized with weddings photographers but I like Nik Pekridis photography. Also I have some friends in Romania, very talented wedding photographers. I love Annie Leibovitz, Helmut Newton, David Lachapelle, Avedon... and many others, it’s a huge list.

6. What do you know about Pws? I read about it on facebook, one year ago. I think it’s a great idea. Easier for the brides and for the grooms to decide what photographer can fulfill their desires and expectations in the wedding day.

Fashion Meets Wedding PWS> Why did you choose wedding photography among other styles ? I love the challenge of REALITY and no graphic designers, stylists or art directors setting up a shoot for me, I like the fast pace of reality, see it, visualise it, capture it and deliver it. I have stated many years ago “ I am fashion photographer, portrait photographer, landscape photographer, commercial photographer all within any five minutes of a wedding day�. PWS> What are the main differences of wedding photography ? Every wedding is unique therefore every wedding bring a different approach. The couple and their personality, what they are wearing, what theme and feel they are exuding, then there are the technical aspects like the LIGHT on the day, the time frame I have to work in, the location I have to shoot, each of the elements mentioned make each and every wedding unique and totally different from each other. I need to react to any of the elements given on any day and shoot according to them and produce results based on those, that is why this business is so exciting and so varied, each wedding is a new canvas to paint on. PWS> What do you advise to beginners about wedding photography ? PLEASE, PLEASE, do NOT shoot and burn a CD. That is 50% of photography. To be a professional, you must deliver 100%, that is 50% in the capture and 50% in printed results. Go and learn retouching, finishing and delivering a FINAL full results. It is NOT a photograph until it is printed ! PWS> How a wedding photographer can create his/her own style ? Go with your heart. See the way your eyes see and not how others have done it many times before you. Be brave to experiment, and be brave to be CREATIVE and break some rules, go with your art and be creative and you will soon see a pattern in your style that is uniquely you. That becomes your signature style. PWS>. You will be in Istanbul for PWS Seminar on 23-24 September. Do you know any about Turkish wedding photography, any names ? What would you like to say to our Turkish wedding photographers before you give seminar ? I am very excited to be in Istanbul in September 2013. I shoot many many Turkish weddings here in Australia, I will be showing the results of a really beautiful wedding I shot just recently of a Turkish couple, I have to say it was one of my favourite wedding results. The couple hire a photographer like me to receive more than just traditional and necessary pictures, they hire me so they can have Photographic Art, so I will be sharing many of my images and my principles of creating Photographic Art at the seminar and hopefully excite you all to think outside the usual and be comfortable to be more creative and artistic. PWS> How do you choose your locations for outdoor / indoor shooting ? It all depends on the day and actually the moment. I do not pre select too much as I rely on LIGHT more than anything, so I will decide on light and create images based on light. For me, I see light first then the background, other photographers see the background and then put their couple in it, I do the opposite. George was born and grew up on the island of Samos. Old-School Photos of People Posing With Old-School Cameras
One of the big trends in the camera industry these days is the stuffing of “big camera” sensors into “small camera” bodies. After all, if you can get the same image quality from a camera that’s smaller in size, why wouldn’t you want to? (That’s the idea, at least).
It appears that back in 1937 it was perfectly normal to snap news photos at the US Senate while holding a cigarette between your fingers:
The quality and portability of cameras these days would be quite astonishing to photographers from back in the earlier days of photography — the days in which you needed both hands and a strong back to work as a photojournalist. In this post, we’ve compiled photos from those “good ol’ days” to see how far photography has come. The photograph above shows baseball player Herman Schaefer hijacking a 5×7 press Graflex camera during a game between the Washington Senators and New York Highlanders in 1911. Thank goodness for the portability of cameras these days. This is what a portable large format camera looked like back in 1914:

The direction he’s facing makes it look like he’s shooting one way, but the camera is actually capturing something to the side: In 1939, when star college quarterback Davy O’Brien visited Washington to receive a prestigious award, he paid a visit to Presidential Secretary Marvin H. McIntyre at the White House.

Are you interested in sharing them with us? The aim of this publication, as was mentioned before, is not to feature only the community of PWS and the photographers that participate in it. From the beginning we wanted it to serve another aim. Any photographer who wants to can have their work featured, even if they do not belong in the PWS but rather to other corresponding associations! In this way they will have the opportunity of making known their work to their colleagues and in general to anyone who reads this publication. As in zombie movies , where the bad thing with the dead is that they do not remain dead, so in the real world, the wrong thing with photographers is that they do not remain photographers. For some people out of necessity, for other people also out of necessity, because of a curse or a microbe. For economic needs, not an expression need. At this point, many times I do the parallelism between a client, a bride, which rarely, if EVER, we do not recognize to her the right to express an opinion on how to make a photographer his job and photographer, who believed himself having the Sacred and inalienable right to have an opinion beyond the photograph. At this point i have to say that the photographer is obligated to have an opinion if he has the appropriate knowledge and is also OBLIGATED to have that knowledge. I close this parenthesis and move to the point at issue: the photographer beyond the art of photography he makes graphic design and stylistic art. Through the lbums that he designs inside, he sets photos, decorates, converts and enriches them with various programs. Did he “own it“? Did “he studied” it? No. He learned quite literally roughly from what he saw around him and what he is learning from the various seminars. Is he a designer - website developer? He is pushing himself to become one, many times! Does he possesses the noble sport of promotion??? (marketing to greatbritain). Certainly not, but is difficult to change what he did until today. suck on marketing as one, deus ex machina, that will suddenly solve all or many of the issues while it is just another link in the great chain of entrepreneurship. Does they possess techniques of filming-imaging-narrative description? Neither this but whatever that impress them (so simple!) and believe that will leave you speechless customers, they are adopting it, without a second thought! In conclusion, while the customer has no right to challenge the speciality of the photographer on what he does, the photographer himself practically does not recognize any speciality to other professionals that he replaces. And the trick question is, how can we ask our customers to honor you by their choice and paying a lot of money emphasizing the value, the specificity and professionalism in what we want to offer and at the same time WE underestimate what we offer by NOT assigning them to specific good and recognized professionals? I know what most of you will answer: “It’s a matter of cost, economy” ‘Well, why does the same answer bother us when we hear it from our customers???!

What is eliteweddingphotographers; It is exactly what it says! There is nothing new .. Now the site of PWS has become open to everyone. For photographers and candidate pairs. A universally commerce page.. But we could not have “forget” the essence and the reasons why the photoweddingstories exists. Promote good wedding photography. And here we would say, it appears, is reborn the eliteweddingphotographers. A restricted society of professional photographers recognized for the quality of their work. And what if someone wants to join us... can he? YES he Can! It is sufficient to place his work on the other’s judgment and If he collects more than 80 points he can join the... elite.

1. The participants of the monthly contest (only full members) have the right to upload one photo every month and vote for all others except their own. 2. We vote with ratings from 65 to 100 points where 65 is “unprofessional depiction” and 100 is the perfect. Over 80 points is considered that a picture has been “produced” correctly while above 85 points means that the picture is excellent. 3. The photos which are participating in the competition must belong to their creator (not from seminars or workshops unless they belong to the rapporteur) and should be categorized as wedding, fashion or portrait. Any other post will be deleted as unacceptable. 4. Images that “carry” insignia of their creator will be deleted 5. In order someone to become a full member, he must collect 79 points average.

Always ask to know how they found us to to fill the table and particularly its recommendations (and to thank the person who is responsible). After each appointment we update our table. 4. We see the relationship between contacts, appointments and deals. A. Contacts per appointment b. contacts per deals c Appointments per deals High deals rate per appointment may mean that we have very low price for our service, while low deals rate per appointment means the opposite.
b . On an annual basis When we have now kept stats for over 12 months, we can see the seasonality in the contacts we have (as always with our current promotions). E.g., if you see a significant drop in the number of our contacts during the Easter month and see that last year you had the same thing happening, then we do not worry and we do not need a change in tactics. If you see for example, another month having a significant drop in the number of your contacts and see that last year there was nothing similar, then you probably need to look at ways to advertise more and better with a promotional activity maybe. 2. Watching exactly how many appointments we do per month The appointments we make with potential customers is a cost allocated to each deal we make. For this we must be always aware, to have a certain maximum number of appointments as a limit for each month, according to the pricing we do. If for example we have a limit of 10 appointments per month, and we have reached half of the month and we have already done 8 meetings, we should need to check this number, ie giving the range of our prices before appointment or even more details for our proposal for the shooting. 3. Seeing the trend per month for our sales a. On a monthly basis We watch how much the number of deals increased or decreased per month. b. On an annual basis When we have kept stats for over 12 months, we can see the seasonality in sales. eg if we are in May and we are quite behind from our goal and see that last year the same thing happened, then we are not very concerned and we do not need any immediate change in tactics, but if we see that last year there was nothing similar, then we will have to see if the deals rate per appointment has fallen so we do some corrections. 5. We accurately track our contacts come from (recommendations / promotions) and what deals we have per recommendation source. We are interested to know exactly where our contacts come from and the percentage amount to please these recommendations and to evaluate our promotional activities. eg, if a promotional activity in Google Ads brings us 30 contacts per month for wedding may be a good number (depending on our goal). But if out of these 30 nobody agreed with us then perhaps we should reassess our advertising message, or even the medium itself. In a few words, it is very essential to keep detailed information on this business. If we hav them we can build on our strategy to develop tactics to implement and make the necessary corrections, if necessary. But without detailed data we walk in the dark.
