Chatrium Resort

Integrated Field 2018

A competition projects of a resort situated in the peak of Samui Island, the southern part of Bangkok which aims to provoke a sensation of elements in nature namely, light, wind, and water. The project aims to enrich the existing natural features with design and architecture within the site, including seascape, rockscape, and topography to allow visitors to appreciate its hidden beauty.

Oxygen

Oxygen is not a restaurant that cooks and serves food. The project aims to tweak the concept of blending a restaurant experience with the grocery experience directly from the source to create a completely new environment. Oxygen is not just a place to have dinner but rather an education place for everyone to learn the food chain and sustainability of the project. It features a rain harvesting system, organic farming plot, and most importantly vertical garden to express how technology can affect the food industry.

Talingchang Housing

The project challenge the norm of Thai Housing by combining public space which is connected to every unit in the project. This becomes the central green space that encourages the sense of commu nity and neighnbourhood while impleminting the traditoional Thai landscape desgin model: โคก หนอง นา. The pioneer model aims to offer alternative apporace to sustainable housing in Thai market.

WonderFruit Competition

Crowd-Cloak is the experimental architecture, aiming to explore the relationship between users and space through time. The agriculture net, commonly known as “ Slan ” is used as the medium to encourage users to interact with architecture by discovering and defining their own space to establish a series of activites.

Furniture and belongings from users are encouraged to be part of space, thereby every piece of objects is integrated to form space that essentially create unique activites beyond norms. Ultimately, this creates the extraodinary phenomenon of formless experience and dynamic motion within the space.

The primary objective of the project is to create the intimate, authentic and unpredictable experience via a flexible platform rather than an iconic shape or form.

Dissertation

Integrated Field 2019

Public transport infrastructure plays an important role in influencing property prices by brings accessibility benefits to the area. The objective of this study is to access the relationship between proximity to Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS) station and the residential property prices in Bangkok, Thailand. This is motivat ed by the BTS extension lines where an increasing number of condominiums are seen to cluster along the BTS lines. Coupled with the unique characteristics of Bangkok in term of walkability and urban pattern, it is interesting to access the impacts of public transport infrastructure in a developing country setting. Hedonic pricing Model (HPM) is adopted in this study to analyses 385 observations located within 1-kilome tre radius to the BTS stations and isolate the impacts on the condominium prices brought by BTS. The struc tural, locational and neighbourhood attributes are used as independent variables to reveal the capitalised value of being close to the BTS stations. To account for the heterogeneity between stations, geographically weight ed regression (GWR) is then performed to detect spatial variations distribution of accessibility benefits.

The traditional regression model shows that BTS generally has positive impacts on the property prices throughout the city. The results by GWR reveal the spatial gradients of accessibility benefits which are visu alised on the map for better spatial interpretation. Overall, BTS has more impact on the extension lines in northern and eastern areas than existing lines in CBD and western bank of the Chao Phraya River.

Hat Khanom-Mu Ko Thale Tai National Park

The project aims to create the value and reveal the forgotten beauty of clusters of archipelagos but also provides the fundamental infrastructure to National Park, including sea navigation, protection along with recreation program, specific to Hat Khanom–Mu Ko Thale Tai National Park. Landscape architecture is not only about achieve environmental aesthetic outcome or provide organizational infrastructure to landscape, but rather to reveal a sense of place, true identity, the hidden beauty and maximize potential of landscape that create the most priceless value to the public. And sometime, the hidden charm of landscape may just lie beneath a pier.

With the basic understanding of Sea navigation, i made a decision to define the boundary of the national park. The 2 mains entrance are accessible through Khanom channel and Samui Channel with visitor centers located respectively, in order to control the volume of sea traffic and number of visitors, prevent ing disturbance within the park such as dragging of boats that destroy the surface of coral reef.

With the adaptive orientation of unit, the form of visitor center aims to maintain the respect for the natural surroundings, having a minimum impact on them by avoiding existing trees and form Plant Nursery as architecture integrate to nature. The shape of visitor center come with logic of Forestry that help to maximize full potential use of natural resources

The pier is designed that make use of existing drage to benefits other programs such as diving station, dock and protection of the reef. The zone divided into 3 zones including: Inner Reef, Crest Reef and Deep Fore Reef. The pier extend from the island to reach the Deep fore reef area, distance may vary according to the geography. Boats are not allowed to sail into Reef crest in order to prevent disturbance. and Within the protected length of the pier, it offers diving programme along the coast to reef crest area.

These are the synthetic implementation of natural rooms that present the identity of Natural Park along with existing natural features. They also build up numbers of implications and possibilities of design and architecture related with context, such as infrastructure, conservation and recreation, promoting the hidden value of national park.

The proposal called ‘ Underground ‘. Reconception of hiking which offer geologic experience and whole new level of natural phenomenon underground. The project mainly focuses on creating a coherent and continuous experience in Khao Luang National Park by creating new trait system and space with a rock-cut architecture, Its location offers the beautiful and historical setting of the well-preserved ancient tropical rainforest creates a potential for the project to be even more exclusive.

Chronoshomes : Senior Citezen Housing

The Project focus on the social group ‘Young Elderly’ in Queenstown, Singapore who will occupy the one room of the HDB flat. The room is redefined the space by separate level of privacy and publicity into layers. Additionally, the extension will serve as extra space where young elders will use as their customizable space. Also, this extension will challenge the policy of residential ownership as the cantilever blocks function as plug-in to the flab, thus tax-free to own the space. As time passed by, the activities of this group of elders will change over time. Therefore, the extension space can suit and provide specific needs to elders. The room is separated into 3 layers which are Public, Semi-public and private. The corridor also served as a long living space which shared by all the users to interact with each other as well. In addition, the semi-public space, which is the room itself, is connected to the neighbor room to encourage dwellers to interact and social to one another and prevent loneliness in elderly. However, there are sliding doors to close up the room when needed to be private. By relocating the traditional services to the side of the room, it can provide more continuous space in the middle which allows you to adapt the space to respond user needs and programs in daily life.

Located in Bang Kha Chao, the Lung of Bangkok, full of old-school traditions and lifestyle, The project ‘ aim to adapt traditional context of Thai culture; Vernacular Architecture, Ceremony and lifestyle to global context. The process starts from the site and ecological system to integrate architecture which adapt and fit perfectly to the site. Floating market is selected to represent life during the old days of Thailand, yet adapted to global context to create Modern Floating Market. The design also create modular structure that adapted from Thai architecture to improve and provide variations that adapt to changes, in term of functions and programmes to suit needs of users occasionally.

A series of elevated rectangular box sits above ground to minimize footprint and utilize the prefabrication in traditional Thai wood craftsmanship technique as the system to generate variations.The connectivity and interaction are very the key to promote adaptive architecture which create the relationship with local context; fruit farming, small number of population and canals, introducing a series of ecosystems to complete the cycle and adapt to local context.

The design is not just a space, but rather becomes a performative structure that introduce water filtration and rain harvesting system to serve the relationship between local life and architecture.

Tomtom Totem

Volunteer Project 2016

Tomtom Night Event (2016) is one of the Faculty of Architecture’s traditional initiation ceremonies where the freshmen dance and sing around the Tomtom pillar along with the beat of the drums to show spirit and unity. For more than 80 years the totem has been with us in different shapes and forms but with the same legacy that passes on from generation to generation. As a design director, it was the challenge to transform and modernize the totem with a lighting sequence while harmonizing the tradition to create a new phenome non.

Wooden Templates

Volunteer Project 2015

A group of twenty thai students travelled to a little town in the south of Spain to develop a summer design and construction workshop. During the first week students were encouraged to explore and document the unknown location in order to obtain notions of the local heritage and the main conflicts this little town is facing. A series of actions to promote interaction with the local people allowed them to analyze and propose a project that modified this context, highlighting precious and forg otten features of the area that nowadays are decaying. During the second week, students were totally involved in the design and construction of three wooden structures following a very specific assembly system. The assembly of these structures was assisted by local wood craftsmen. Students and local people celebrated the construction of these totems in an event organized as a collective effort.
