SAN FELIPE FORT. This sixteenth century fortress is one of the oldest in the hemisphere. Offers a magnificent view to the Atlantic Ocean and beholds great history. It was used to protect the city from the English pirates, and inside its walls the patriarch Juan Pablo Duarte was imprisoned.

AMPHITHEATER PUERTO PLATA. A beautiful 22,200 square foot, with capacity for more than 4 thousand spectators. Its flanked by the San Felipe Fort and the Atlantic Ocean. Since its inauguration on 2017, it has witness the performance of many famed international and national artist.

GENERAL GREGORIO LUPERÓN MUSEUM.

In this museum you can learn about the life and history of General Gregorio Luperón, President of the Dominican Republic and leader of the Restoration war. A great source of history about this national heroe, shown from the house he lived.

CULTURE HOUSE. Is an enchanting Victorian House, located in front of Central Park. If you enjoy art exhibitions, cultural events and more, this is a MUST! SAN FELIPE APÓSTOL CATHEDRAL The original wooden church was destroyed by fire in 1863 during the so-called “Restoration War”. The temple was rebuilt in modern Victorian style. It is the main church of the Diocese of Puerto Plata.

AMBER MUSEUM. Puerto Plata is also known as the Amber coast, as this prehistoric resin abounds. In the museum you will learn all about of Dominican Amber and the famous gem used in the movie Jurassic Park.
