The Dominican Republic occupies two-thirds of the eastern side of the island of Hispaniola, shared with the Republic of Haiti, and it is the second largest country in the Caribbean with an area of 49,967 km². Country entry requirements: For most visitors a valid passport is required along with a US$10 Tourist Card. Anyone, regardless of their nationality, can enter with a Tourist Card if they are a legal resident or if they have one of the following valid visas in their passport: United States, Canada, United Kingdom or Schengen. Airline tickets purchased after April 25, 2018 already include the cost of the tourist card, so it is not necessary to buy one.
